The reviews, both on Yelp and from my parents, don't lie. I was so happy that I ended up here and not at one of the other neighboring B&Bs. My favorite part was legit the afternoon popcorn and cookies. SO YUMMY! Breakfast was great too with an amazing view. I only wish that we were there longer so we could take advantage of the proprietor's knowledge of the area and get some recommendations of things to do. We were so tired from new parent life that we basically just napped the weekend away, but it was still a lovely place to do that.

From the moment I was researching and communicating with Jenn the innkeeper, until the moment we checked in and met Steve and Jimmy, we felt comfortable and welcomed and so happy with our choice. The house has been transformed into eight separate bedrooms with their own private bath, and each is well appointed with the most luxurious bedding and soft pillows and mattress. I loved the pillow so much that I ordered one to be shipped to my home! Steve and Jimmy greeted us with a glass of wine and a little history of the building and the area and gave restaurant recommendations and things to do. Each morning Jenn created a wonderful three course breakfast that kept me full all day until dinner. Waking up for the 930 spread was the highlight of each morning! Nothing was store-bought, nothing. She is a master baker and chef and takes pride in her presentation and selection of food. I have never stated at a B&B and was concerned that it would feel like sharing space with strangers, but that was not the case. The first night was a full house with all 8 rooms occupied and everyone was respectful of each other. Jenn and Steve were available as much as we wanted them to be, but gave us our space to do our own thing. I would highly recommend staying at Judson Heath and let Jimmy, Jenn and Steve show you around their cute, quaint and adorably perfect town.

Steve and Jenn were excellent hosts. They gave us restaurant recommendations and a brief history of the building (established in 1837!). Jenn cooked an amazing 3-course breakfast daily, and I devoured every bite. My favorites were the baked goods, like blueberry cake. We stayed in the Elton room on the top floor that had a lot of nice touches and character to it. It had a jacuzzi (although don't use it past 10pm to avoid disrupting the guests below)! The bed was comfortable, and the views overlooking the Japanese garden and two different streets were nice. You also use a vintage key to open and lock the room. The location is awesome, and everything is walkable from this inn. Keep in mind that there are about four car spots in the lot, but there is generally free street parking as well. One of the highlights at this inn is definitely Steve's and Jenn's Chihuahua dog named Jimmie! He is absolutely adorable and greeted us upon arrival as well as throughout our stay. During breakfast, he was sniffing the ground for dropped food from guests. It must have worked in the past because he knew when it was time to come out! I highly recommend staying here. Scott, the innkeeper, provided us with so much wonderful information on things to do, where to eat and was kind in addressing any of our needs. We had a "romance" package which included wine, $50 credit to a restaurant and chocolate. The room was cozy with a faux fire place and a room overlooking some trees and down to the water. Stayed here a few weeks ago for my birthday weekend when I found a special online for 2 nights plus one one hour free in-room massage, gift certificate to a restaurant in downtown Saugatuck, and of course the two complimentary brekkies (being that it's a B&B, of course) for $388. Such a steal! The house itself is lovely. Built in the 1870s and renovated a bit but still keeping that Victorian charm. A comfy downstairs sitting area, and cozy dining room and another kitchenette area with a fridge (stocked with complimentary sodas and water), water pot for tea, hot chocolate, etc, and coffee. Oh yay! We stayed in Enid, the largest of the rooms. Very spacious with a sitting area of two chairs and a table, a couple of nightstands, a chest of drawers, a queen sized bed (very comfy and cozy), a fireplace, a small cable tv and dvd player, and cd/radio. It was actually really nice to unplug a bit so we didn't really watch any tv but it was there if you need it. Instead we mostly just lounged around listening to classical music on the radio and Prairie Home Companion. Fit the feel of the room nicely! The adjoining bathroom is a good size too with a lovely and deep clawfoot bathtub (that I definitely took a soak in. AHHH so nice!) and a separate shower. Complimentary bathrobes added to the cozy feeling and the windows had a lovely view for just perching and looking outside. Add that to the most amazing massage ever (seriously, one of the best I've ever had and I'm hard to please) and I walked out of there feeling completely rested and rejuvenated. The hosts/owners, Sal and Gregg are just lovely. Really friendly and chatty, I felt like an honored guest. And they are no slouches in the kitchen, either! Our breakfasts were DELICIOUS. The first day I had the eggs benedict (although the smell of the waffles sure were intoxicating!) and the next morning I had the sweet potato pancakes which I had to force myself to stop eating because they were so tasty but oh so filling! The grounds are lovely and I can't wait to come back in warmer weather for a sit on the porch looking at the trees and Kalamazoo river peaking through (while their super friendly kitty Oscar rubs against your ankles--but don't worry cat allergy folks, kitty does not come into the guest quarters. We only saw him chillin' outside). If you've never been to a B&B I highly recommend starting with Beechwood Manor. Although it's likely any others you visit may not live up!

There wasn't many options close to downtown that were available or reasonable. I found Beachway for $150 a night compared to $300+ for a room just across the water. After reading lots of reviews, I booked and crossed my fingers. We arrived and were greeted by Cathy at the front desk. So sweet and informative! Walked me through everything we needed to know - front desk hours (she was staying the night so would be available for emergencies and ring the bell if needed! So sweet), breakfast area with coffee, donuts, and fresh fruit, and all the amenities they had - games, movies, snacks, etc. They walked me to the room to make sure I knew where it was and to show me around. I had left a note in our reservation about it being our Anniversary and the staff left us a bottle of Prosecco and some nuts - SO sweet and totally unexpected. The room was small - as was described - but very clean and well maintained. The bed, two nightstands, small dresser, TV, and shelf with hangers was in one area of the room and the other half had two chairs, small table, & the sink area outside of the actual bathroom. The sink had a hand towel, makeup towel (black so not to stain easily from makeup - great idea), blow dryer, 2 bars of soap, shampoo, conditioner, and 2 makeup wipes. (no lotion). The bathroom has a door and was recently remodeled - toilet and small shower with a curtain. The renovation was VERY well done, but the shower is pretty small (but tall). We did not use the pool but it appeared to be heated - we hardly saw anyone using it but it appear clean and well maintained. There are lots of decks with ample seating to hang out and watch the activities across the channel. The location is great! short 8-10 min drive to downtown Saugatuck or Douglas. Chain Ferry is a block away and super convenient - and charming! Oval beach is a short 5 minute drive away (walking distance but very hilly and no sidewalks - it's mostly through the woods) My ONLY complaint about the Beachway is the fact that there is no individual temperature controls in the rooms - it is an older establishment that looks retrofitted into individual rooms so everyone must be on the same run. It got a little stuffy in our room, so we opened the windows at night. It was cool outside but the cool air didn't' seem to come in at all. There also is no fan in the room to move the air. So, I would recommend bringing fans if you can. We were on the floor above the lobby so maybe other areas don't have this issue. I did see comments in other reviews about paper thin walls and hearing everything - while I would agree, we didn't find it to be an issue as there didn't seem to be many guests. Out door didn't close flush so at night you could see light coming through from the hallway - even with that we didn't hear people out and about. Overall, this is a charming place that we definitely said we'd bring our kids back to! For a couple traveling for their anniversary looking for a place to just lay their heads, it worked out extremely well!

You simply can't beat the beach access--it's peaceful, beautiful, and never feels overcrowded. We spend our days soaking up the sun, swimming, and ending evenings with bonfires on the beach using the complimentary firewood provided by the property. Our kids absolutely love everything there is to do. Between the pool, tennis courts, pickleball, ping pong, basketball, open grassy areas for wiffle ball and games, and the complimentary bikes and beach cruisers, they're entertained from morning until sunset. One of our favorite parts is that they always seem to meet other kids staying on the property, and before long they're all outside riding bikes, playing games, and making summer memories together. The gated property also gives us peace of mind, making it feel incredibly safe for families. Cottage #7 is the perfect setup for us. It has a bedroom with two twin beds for the kids, a comfortable master bedroom for us, and a den with a pull-out sofa that's perfect when family or friends decide to stay the night. Having a grill and a washer and dryer makes longer stays so much easier. The kitchen has an eclectic collection of dishes and cups, but honestly, that's part of the charm. There's something nostalgic and fun about the mismatched, cottage-style feel that makes it feel like a true home away from home. The grounds are absolutely pristine and beautifully maintained, making every walk around the property enjoyable. Every year we're sad when it's time to leave, and before we're even packed up, we're already looking forward to coming back next summer. Sleepy Hollow has become much more than just a vacation rental--it's where our family makes some of our favorite summer memories. And yes some cottages are more updated than others, but it's the property and beach access you're getting that's priceless. It is located on a dead end street so it makes it quiet. Before we arrived, I received an email from Sarah, the owner asking if we had any food allergies as she makes breakfast. She also wanted to check that we were able to go upstairs, as that was where our room was located. We had the door code to get in because we were going to get there after Sarah left. Once we got there, I realized I have stayed here before under a different name and ownership. It was a steep climb upstairs, but totally managable. We found our room clean and well appointed. It had a refrigerator with plenty of cold water. There were also plenty of towels in the room. It was very cute and the bed was comfortable. Our bathroom was very large. Sarah said the upstairs used to have 2 bedrooms, but they converted the small one to a large bathroom with a large closet. So our bedroom/bathroom were spacious. The breakfast in the morning was excellent. Plenty of choices and nice fresh. The food was placed. in the beautiful kitchen and you served yourself. Then the people staying at the B&B ate breakfast on the front porch. I highly recommend the Luckystone Inn. Sarah is a gracious host.

Located on a quiet street on the edge of the downtown Saugatuck area, we were only a few blocks from Saugatuck's best food and shoppes yet we still slept peacefully. The owner personally manages the small inn and is happy to share stories of her inn adventure and is excited to learn about her guests. Daily, after preparing a wonderful gourmet style breakfast with warm coffee and delicious scones, she joins her guests to talk about the upcoming day's adventures and to listen to stories from the day before. If you need a cozy retreat to call your base camp for your time in the Saugatuck area, this will be a great place to go. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

We played games, took advantage of the fire pit and outdoor space, had tons of room for the whole family to eat, sleep and shower! Joanie was fantastic. She was very prompt in her responses to my questions leading up to the stay and was very helpful throughout the process. The house was clean, well decorated, very charming and accommodated all of our needs, including a lot of cooking.
