Hair in the bed

The room was unclean. We found a hair and a hair ball in the bed. Also, our friends also made a reservation, but were told they were unable to stay because of their child. We were told that this was advertised as an "adults only" stay by the owner. On second look there was nothing on the front page of the site that stated that. One would have to look at the policies section, under the fourth heading. The policy stated, "Martha's Vineyard is an adult facility and generally not suited for young children..." If this is truly the policy, the rhetoric is far too passive.

This b&b is adorable... My husband and I spent there our first anniversary! April welcomed us and showed us our lovely room... It was beautiful, very clean and with a touch of French style! We booked the package including a bottle of champagne to make everything as we had pictured it in our minds... The champagne was fabulous too... On Sunday morning someone from the staff brought us our delicious breakfast in a sweet basket... We will certainly come back, maybe during the winter time...

Dessert at breakfast! A tiny blueberry cheesecake bite!

Our second visit... 3 nights during the South Haven Blueberry Festival. It's just a bit north of "downtown" on the Blue Star Highway, so it's close enough to easily get to South Haven or Saugatuck/Douglas, but far enough away to feel secluded and quiet. We love the comfy, clean rooms, and the little library of DVDs that you can watch in your bed... and did I mention the 4-course breakfast? Breakfast is absolutely the best part, so don't be a goof and make plans to have brunch elsewhere - you'll be cheating yourself! Breakfast starts each day with a fruit "something" (fruit-and-yogurt parfait, fruit cup, or little fruit pastry), then a starchy "something" (cinnamon roll, or carrot nut bread...), then a protein-y "something" (souffle, egg-and-potato scramble, or French toast...), and then a little dessert bite of some kind. The coffee's strong and the OJ is freshly squeezed, and dining out on the vine-covered porch is so relaxing that you'll wish you could just stay all day. We'll be back!

Enjoying the screen covered porch connected to our room.

This was our first Bed and Breakfast experience and We loved it! Very cozy and comfortable. Loved the room we stayed in, Martha's Garden Room. The owners and the innkeeper were so friendly and very accommodating, even with my food allergies. They provided a gluten free breakfast for me. Thank you so much for making our stay wonderful. My husband and I were celebrating our 8 year wedding anniversary :)

Stayed here with my husband as an anniversary trip and had a wonderful time! Staff was sincerely friendly and kind. We stayed in Martha's Vineyard room, which was cozy, clean, quaint with a very nice private veranda, although a small room. The house it self is also cozy and quaint. There are board games and a DVD library for rainy days which came in handy! The breakfasts were a nice variety and served promptly at 9am and is 3 courses. First day was half a pear baked with spices and whip cream to start, then a cinnamon roll and last egg soufflé and red skin potatoes. Delicious! The other day it was a fruit dish with a slice of each, banana, strawberry, kiwi and pineapple, next it was yogurt parfait and last blueberry French toast with a side of sausage. Yummy again! We'd definitely go back. The grounds are beautifully kept as well. Found a frog at the pond and deer in the yard along with wild turkey! MV is convenient in location at only about 10 mins from downtown South Haven and 20 from Saugatuck. Lots to see and do in town this is a reasonably priced lodging option for those who like B&Bs!

So peaceful!

Josh and I stayed in the beautiful Lake Placid room. Our friends stayed in the spectacular St. Moritz room. Our hosts were so gracious and accommodating (my friend and I both have Celiac Disease and Judine worked with us to keep our food safe for us - I brought most of my meals). Traveling can be difficult with food sensitivities but it was so comfortable staying there. We had never seen the town in South Haven before and we can't wait to make plans for another visit! There is still so much we need to see and of course so much more to do when the weather warms up!

Kevin, the innkeeper, is warm and engaging. He sees to your every need and we looked forward to seeing him every day. The breakfasts provided every morning in the dining room are delicious and beautifully presented. Coffee or tea is available anytime of the day in a little room off the dining area. The inn is secured with a keypad on the front door so only the guests have access, and there's plenty of parking on site as well. I highly recommend Inn at the Park.

This was our second visit to YMBB, after spending two nights there in July 2016. Since then, two…read morethings have changed: breakfast is table service instead of buffet and the afternoon snacks are now a la carte indulgences. What hasn't changed is the quality of the food, the availability of triple chocolate brownies and popcorn 24/7, refreshing mint cucumber water, and treats in bowls scattered throughout the common areas. Elaine and Robert run a place that is impeccably clean and incredibly hospitable. They are very quick to address any concern or engage in friendly conversation. It is obvious they are experts in providing guests with an enjoyable stay. We stayed in the Ivy Room in the Manor. It isn't large, and it is at the top of the main stairs, but it's quiet and was just fine for us. The common areas are perfectly appointed for reading or eating or playing games. We had breakfast in the morning and played table games at night on the screened porch, which is lovely and especially charming in the dark. Re: things to do, there is plenty to keep you occupied at the B&B. We spent most of our days wandering around South Haven--walks on the beach, sunset at the pier, going into town for shopping and meals--or in other nearby lake towns, though, and relished the peace of the inn later in the day. If you are there when it's not crowded (e.g., during the week), YMBB has a pedal-powered surrey you can borrow! I will say, I was worried about the change in breakfast service since last time the buffet was amazing. My concern was unfounded, though--being served was delightful and the food options expanded with the inclusion of specialty entrees. We were provided with amuse-bouches of local blackberries with a dollop of whipped cream, plates of a variety of other local fruits, and plenty of choices from the standard and changing menus. My husband enjoyed the decadent quiches and I was happy to see steel-cut oatmeal on offer (with vanilla rhubarb syrup!). We discovered how wonderful hummus or sweet potato could be in the morning, too. Elaine expanded my idea of what breakfast could be, both for myself and at a B&B; I didn't miss casseroles, muffins, or bacon/sausage at all (like what we've had at other places). A special touch that highlights their personalized service -- I mentioned to Robert one afternoon that I meant to tell Elaine to save me some of the edges that are trimmed off before the triple chocolate brownies are served. He found some for me within a few minutes and, when my husband and I arrived at breakfast the next morning, there was a plate of them put side with plastic wrap and a note with my name. So thoughtful! Those chewy edges are my FAVORITE. Even in the smallest, least expensive room, we consider a trip to YMBB a special treat. We are the kind of couple who travels by car and engages in cheap adventures (hiking, camping, etc.). Going away without a planned itinerary is out of my comfort zone...usually. This long weekend of relaxation and restoration convinced me there's another way, and the treatment we received at Yelton Manor was no small part of that.

We stayed here for 3 nights. Our room was one the ground floor, and it was fine but very dark…read more Would be nice to have a bit more lighting in the room. Breakfast way just okay, nothing really special. We have been to other B&Bs where breakfast was a real pleasure. The innkeeper was rather stand off-ish and I heard her speak rather rudely to some other guests. She did not go out of her way to get to know guests or make us feel particularly welcome. We did meet some nice people during our stay. Overall, we appreciated the location and its proximity to the lake and beach, but we would not choose to stay here again.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Chef Tim, who got us checked in. Chef Tim served up some excellent breakfasts the next few days!! Sherry, the sommelier, then took us through the complimentary wine tasting that came with our booking. These are wines that she had made, so it was pretty cool hearing about the flavor profiles from her and tasting them! We got to enjoy sitting on the patio and relaxing with some yummy mushroom popcorn that Chef Tim made. The 2023 Single Barrel Chardonnay was my favourite! The rooms are good for 2 adults, but probably no more. Each room has its own bathroom. I loved the white noise machines in the room that made it easy to sleep. There are a couple of common areas: a book nook with a 2nd floor balcony space and a downstairs living room where you can sit, chat, or read some books! There are all sorts of books on gardening, foraging, cooking, and wine! There is also the main dining area where breakfasts are served. Breakfast was amazing. Literally my favourite meals out of the 4 days we vacationed in the area. Chef Tim cooks everything from scratch and all was so yummy! The pastries were such a delight everyday! Seasonal Fruit Smoothie: Fresh berries smoothie! So yummy that I helped to finish my husband's portion also! Classic Eggs Benedict with Lemon Hollandaise & Slow Braised Pulled Ham on House English Muffins: so savory and yummy!! Home made English muffins were the perfect texture in combination with the poached eggs. The sauce brought everything together. So so good. Breakfast Potatoes: oh man. It's these potatoes were perfectly seasoned and I could of eaten a whole plate of them! Scones: super fluffy!!! Chicken Sausage & Grits: I thought I wasn't a fan of grits until I had these creamy savoury grits! The chicken sausage was a perfect pairing. I could of eaten a couple bowls of it! Baked French Toast with Macerated Berries, Mint Syrup, Strawberry Melba, & Whipped Cream: custardy French toast with a slightly sweet berry topping. I loved that the flavors were well balanced and not too sweet! Fruit & Yogurt Parfait: we were spoiled by the fresh picked fruit all weekend. The house made granola gave it the perfect texture contrast. Yummy! Fluffy Quiche with foraged golden mushrooms & asparagus: I have never had such a fluffy quiche in my life. The veggies were perfect.

Great location, food was amazing, great hosts! If you are ever in the area, you'll want to stay…read morehere.
