Great spot to rent an AirBnB in Manly. We came here for a week over New Years and had a great time. Close to everything you need, nice balconies, big rooms, well priced, would definitely return. read more

All were very good and with a nice view of the ocean and a comfortable and laidback coastal vibe. Nice staff too. Adult beverages were ordered separately at one of the bars, and you could tell that this very roomy place (with multiple rooms and bars) was set up for good weekend and evening good times. As we didn't get up to the Rooftop Bar, I might be underestimating the total energy here or maybe lack of peace and quiet if you've booked a night here.

It was very fresh, and seasoned perfectly. It came with two tostadas, and I thought I'd still be hungry, but honestly it was very filling. Definitely a great spot just steps away from the beach!

The Novotel in Manly is alright. It is certainly a tad overpriced for what you get (although I…read moreguess you're simply paying for the location). We got a suite (2 bedrooms) and the room itself was nice. The master and the living room overlooked the ocean (obstructed by trees though) and the second bedroom with two twin beds overlooked another hotel with a slight ocean view. The kitchen area was OK - it had a fridge and a microwave. There were two bathrooms and one of them had a shower where the door doesn't go completely to the floor (read: very wet bathroom floor). The hotel itself is nice and the staff is nice as well, but there are very few perks. The rooftop pool is very tiny and has AstroTurf which gets REALLY hot in the sun. Additionally, the WiFi isn't free and the paid WiFi is still iffy at best. You can send texts / emails / iMessages but you can't send pictures or watch videos. There's no way I could work from my laptop, either. There is no complimentary coffee but there is a breakfast buffet. We didn't try it but it looked nice - there was a big organic table with fresh honeycomb. You get a discount if you are staying at the hotel. The main draw of this hotel is its proximity to the wharf, the corso, restaurants, and the beach. Everything we did was in quick walking distance. All in all, the hotel was OK - wouldn't recommend nor discourage.

The second day I went down to the front desk asked for my room to be cleaned and was told it would be cleaned right away. An hour later the room hadn't been entered. I went into Sydney and arrived back just before 3pm and asked at the front desk and was told it was al taken care of. THAT WAS A LIE! Nobody had touched the room when I came back. Motel 6 does better but my problem is that any corporate entity that tells it's employees to tell the customers what they want to here and don't do their due diligence and then lie to the cstomers is wrong on any level!

This review is for the rooftop restaurant…read more I saw they had a lobster roll and a portion of the sales were getting donated to a fundraiser. I don't remember which one. I asked the friendly bartender if the lobster roll was warm or cold. She said it was warm. Well, lesson learned. A warm lobster roll in Sydney is not the same as a warm lobster roll in the states. I was given a lobster roll that was warm, but with dollops of Mayo as opposed to warm drawn butter. The flavors were decent, just not what I was expecting. It came with fries and a small side salad. Fries were nice and crisp. For my drink I ordered a whiskey ginger. I ended up having two more as I was enjoying the view from the rooftop and spending time with friends. I was charged a different price each time for the same drink. Not sure why there was inconsistency. Still a good spot!

Radisson Kestrel Hotel on Manly Beach

I decided to stay here on night when I had Saturday night birthday drinks and Sunday morning…read morebirthday breakfast both in Manly. It certainly beat getting to Manly, getting back home then going back again with bad hangover in tow. Or that's what I thought. I've always thought the Sebel Manly was a nice hotel and when I went to book I had visions of myself on a balcony with sweeping views of Manly Beach. Not so. You can book one of these rooms - for a stupid price. This place actually has two 'Towers' - the North Tower which faces the beach and the South Tower which is basically a building out the back and round the corner. After discovering this I decided that I didn't want to stay in a non-descript building (South Tower) so booked a room in the North Tower with no beach view. Arriving we were told there was no parking left in the North Tower so we had to go to the South Tower. A concierge arrived to help us with luggage but proceeded to drag us through Manly Wine - at about 7PM on a Saturday night. Weird. The room was really average - the hotel felt run of the mill and a bit on the old side. In the morning there are nice touches like beach towels and the Sunday paper but honestly, I would never recommend this hotel to an out of town guest. Better to rent a beach pad or head up the road to The Manly Pacific.

Manly Lodge is a great little place to stay, run by a friendly Polish guy…read more Their rooms are immaculately well-presented and clean, even if they are a little small. But they make up for the size with the mirrors covering the ceilings! That was my favourite part about Manly Lodge, the mirrored ceilings. That, and the bunk beds! Who doesn't love bunk beds? Aside from which, it's located a stone's throw from Manly Beach, almost right on the water, which is really a great place to stay if you want to go exploring now and again. They also have a ping-pong room in which I spent many an hour schooling my dad in the ways of table-tennis. All this, for a very affordable price! I would stay here again, if the opportunity arises. Just sayin'.

We watched the cooks prep for our food and it was handed to us fresh off the stove. Food wise, the portion size is simply enormous and we couldn't finish the takeout box despite lots of walking during the day. But that doesn't sacrifice the quality. The salt and pepper squid was on point, yet not overpowering. The deep fried prawns was simply perfect. You can taste the freshness of the prawn just underneath the deep fried batter. Fish was cooked beautifully and didn't fall apart easily when you slice through it. It's already 5 star experience and I would have given a bonus point to the restaurant for having biodegradable wooden takeout cuttery.

Visited by Long time friends and new acquaintances. Ivan loves it's Wednesday burger days at 12.50 for a meal. Our trio choose the second floor because the first floor is quite dark but the outside deck is stunningly sunny with wall greenery, flat screen TVs, heaps room, and funky wicker decor. Our burgers arrive swiftly- having come from, I understand the cleanest kitchen in the business. Chips are salty and crunchy and meat has been cooked to preference. My 'beef' with this burger is the size of bun to patty and the taste of the meat. Bun is too big and each time I bite-sauce and bits fall out. And the meat has a game-y flavour. Is it weird to say "animaly"? Not the best burger I've had but the kitchen does offer a huge array of options and I'd eat here again
