A very pleasant local shopping center with essentials such as Ralph's and Starbucks but with some nice upscale spots such Mendocino Farms and Bacio de Latte gelato. Watch your wallets parents as I see that a Brandy Melville and Anthropologie are coming soon! Parking can be challenging but it's not impossible. We were pretty impressed coming to this plaza, although going through the lot gets pretty hectic with all of the traffic in the parking lot. There's plentiful spaces but at the same time they can be tough as people are going in and out from restaurants, shops, dessert places, banks, and the market. We really liked the clean and calm vibes of the outdoor patio spread throughout the lot. The water fountain is pretty unique too. Very dog-friendly as we saw many dogs walking around with their owners! An interesting thing we thought was awesome was how clean the top of the trash can lids are-- definitely appreciated!! read more

The Waterside Shopping Center in Marina Del Rey houses a market, pharmacy a Starbucks and several family owned shops. Some are cute, some are just expensive. If you are in the area and need something it is a fine place to go, just like any other strip type mall. If you are looking for local fun, this is not it. We've been shopping and eating at Waterside for over 15 years. There's a good size Ralphs here (where we shop), casual dining and fast food, retail shops, and a Bank of America. We lost the Post Office here over five years ago. Parking and traffic flow are rather screwy; parking spaces are tight. read more

As strip malls go, it is a very nice shopping center with a great tenant selection/mix. Mendocino Farms is a favorite, and I sometimes drop an Amazon return at the Amazon Books store here. Unfortunately the parking lot is not adequate in size or design to manage the volume of customers. At peak times, it is nightmarish to navigate the parking lot. The parking lot is bad enough that when I'm in a hurry, I just won't stop here. read more

Waterside - Shopping Centers Near Me - Marina del Rey, California

Waterside is one of those neighborhood shopping spots that you likely take for granted. It's got everything you'd need in a neighborhood shopping center, from food to fashion and everything in between. If you can deal with the pretentious people and the tight parking, it's actually a pretty cool spot. I realized this recently when I went to their Starbucks, and noticed The Loft and White House Black Market stores. I should come here and shop! It's got a Ralph's, several fast casual restaurants and sit-down spots like CPK. There's a Sephora, BofA, and I think a post office (!!). Like I said, everything you need! Probably the best part of this center is the outdoor seating just outside of Starbucks, Mendocino Farms, and Fresh Bros pizza. It's set up with small, iron bistro-type tables perfect for two or three; many people pull tables together for a larger group. It's quaint, casual, near a nice fountain, piped in 1940's music, and really reflects the beauty and charm of the Marina Del Rey neighborhood. Again if you can deal with snooty people and tight parking, it's a great little spot to get a lot done. read more

Parking? Really? That's the problem here? We have an Audi A4 and an F150. Never seemed to have any problems here. I mean, no more than anywhere else around. At least it's free. Fascinating. Anyway, much as I like the Waterside, not much here for me. I agree that the stores are pretty pricey. And douchey. So, for the most part, I only stop by The Counter and Ralphs. Tried Fresh Bros a couple times... meh. It's always busy here so I'm sure the stores are doing just fine without my patronage. There's a nice little fountain on the northern half of the Waterside. They also have a kids fun zone on some day of the week that sounds interesting. My daughter is too young for now. read more

Parking lot is ridiculously designed. When they re-striped it they didn't change anything or fix the inherent problems with the merging traffic lanes, undersized parking spaces etc. it's always a cluster getting in and out of this place. On top of all of that, many days you are greeted by a fine upstanding "gentlemen "allegedly soliciting donations for college tuition money. The problem is he's been here for about 10 years. You would think he would have his masters by now. He walks aggressively up to people in cars, tries to help them with groceries and do things like that to ingratiate himself to set up for the score. This is quite possibly the worst and most poorly designed parking lot in the world. Also, if you shop here you are about 99% likely to be an a-hole. How do I know this? This past summer I had the misfortune of coming here nearly daily to pick up mail for my boss. In order to proceed with my shopping experience all I had to do was park my little Toyota Echo into a free parking spot, but was it easy? No. I can't tell you how many near collisions I had with pinch-faced, collagen lipped women driving their huge Lexus, or speed demon overcompensating jerks in little sports cars. What is it about this place that attracts these losers and their incompetent parking abilities? On top of that the parking area has many sharp turns and blind spots, so even a good driver is going to be terrified on a crowded day. On top of the parking situation, the store selection here is bizarre. Talk about a collection of the random retail outlets. Lingerie store next to the UPS store. Chipotle next to some kind of upscale evening gown boutique. I'm so glad I don't have a reason to come here anymore. read more

No parking makes this a no go. Morning, afternoon, night, weekday, holiday, weekend -- every space filled. If you do eventually find a spot, all the spaces are compact car size. Not only is the parking tight, it's difficult to walk between the cars. Added to this... all the employees from all these stores are taking up a large ammount of the same spaces. My friend and I were at Waterside Outdoor Mall shopping. Not that many people know but the same developer of the Grove built Waterside and it you can tell the similarities instantly. This place gets crazy packed at lunchtime and I mean crazy packed with a large lunchtime crowd which means excess cars & bicycles everywhere. I dig the open air environment so close to the water. I dig how it can be 90-95 degrees in Hollywood you might still a jacket here. I dig that outsiders tend to pass this place without stopping as they drive down Lincoln because all they are seeing is the backside of various building but if you come off of Fiji it opens up. There is a large variety of places to eat, if you are looking for Pizza, Burger, Mexican, Healthy or just coffee you can find it here. If you are looking to mail off an item there is a Post Office. If you are looking to do shopping there are plenty of stores to choose from including jewelry stores, clothing stores & furniture stores. I remember coming here back in the day when this place was an empty little strip mall, I miss those times sometimes but a tad stoked we have our own version of The Grove without having to deal with the West Side'ers and the traffic. Not to the wise if you are coming to here to shop bring your checkbook because these places are not cheap. If you have patience when seems to be really lacking these days you will find parking, just pull your car to the far right so people can pass you and sooner or later someone will come to their car and leave and you can park and enjoy yourself. read more

I ve got bugged from a security guard there I have just got a coffee from Starbucks sit in my car and checked email's till a man pugged me .I would for him sleeping in my car I should get the f...from the property. He is the security guard but look like a bump I was afraid and he could begging me for money ... He told me I would sleeping he saw me with the mouth open . he starting to invite funny stuff .If I told him I would complaint to management he would tell I would slept since 4 am in my car. Bad for him I have witness Starbucks it is 5am .I am sick of this management let good customer insulting from a security guard looks like a bump..Don't go their alone or ever in the morning. read more

Don't get confused by previous reviews - their parking lot is as good as anywhere else! I have always liked the atmosphere of this outdoor shopping mall. Not too large and vast, not too busy, very clean. Always nice jazz music and this wonderful fountain with tasteful metal chairs and tables around where you can sit for free, and for example munch your yummy pinkberry's, or sip on your *bucks latte, or just watch the sun set or meet up with a friend for a quick chat. The proximity of Ralph's, a laundry (Bella Cleaners, only good experiences!), a post office, an AT&T store, and a ups store is very convenient. There also is one of the Wells Fargo bank automats where you can do everything from depositing checks to buying stamps. read more

I avoid this "parking lot," whenever possible. The lunch time scene is packed, almost impossible to find parking. It does have an nice fountain with al fresco seating to enjoy the beautiflu Marina days. It's hard to get into and out of as well with busy Admiralty/Linclon traffic. read more

I have to agree with Eva...the parking is a bummer. I walk, so I'm less peeved. That said, I've almost been run over by many of those "collagen-lipped, pinch-faced women" and "over-compensating men" when attempting to walk through the horrendously designed parking lot. It needs a full re-design. The economy is hitting this place with some ferocity. They've lost Le Marmiton and several boutique retailers. I emailed with a rep who said they're looking for new tenants, but according to some of the long term business owners the terms are tough to swallow. Fingers crossed they'll ride it out. read more

Waterside is a small shopping and dining complex brought to Marina del Rey by the same group that created the Grove and the Americana at Brand. Located between Lincoln & Admiralty Way from Mindanao to Fiji Way, Waterside is much smaller and less interesting than its cousins, but does a nice job of serving the local community. - Free parking, but it's a total mare when busy (like when you want to go). - The anchor is the "good" Ralph's in the Marina. I get flowers here, too. - Rainbow Acres is a small, yet cool organic store or lunch spot. - SugarFish is a nice modern take on Japanese sushi - Mendocino Farms may have the best sandwiches in MDR. - The Counter "Build-Your-Own" Burgers are hard to beat. - Pinkberry has lost its cool, but still satisfies my sweet tooth. - California Pizza Kitchen offers safe choices for the whole family. - Chipotle is a convenient, cheap, and comfortable choice for fast food. - Fresh Brothers Pizza provides an alternative to CPK familiarity. - Universal Jewelers is a genuinely helpful and friendly jewelry store. - West Marine has a limited selection of nautical gear and goods. - Bank of America at Waterside has some awesome smiling staff. - The U.S. Post Office is a frustrating opposite of the bank for service. - For shipping, use the UPS store. - Bella Cleaners is ok with a coupon, but twice gave me somebody else's clothes - Sees Candy is the newest store. We all need more access to chocolate. - Most of the Clothing Stores are overpriced with limited selections. - Massage Envy is a decent spa that may not be worth the cost. - Starbucks is here ... This is a beautiful mall in the Marina del Rey area. Developed by Rick Caruso (famous as the developer of The Grove and Americana at Brand), this property is sort of like a younger sibbling that does not have the same opulence of The Grove (i.e., there isn't a trolley, unfortunately). There is a traditional Starbucks store at the location. Would be nice if the Starbucks was upgraded to a Starbucks Reserve. Parking is pretty easy in this mall, but then again, I came on a sleepy Monday at 9pm. (What do I know!?) All of the stores are pleasant to visit and the cool location near the ocean is wonderful. read more

The parking is awful. I try to avoid this place when I can. If you go later in the evening or on a weekday (other than lunch time) you will find parking. The stores seem random. Been here quiet a few times. Free parking was never really a problem, day or evening. Cute and small outdoor shopping place. Charming setting. Cool eating place outside. I only shop here to go to Ralphs and the parking is fine on that side, very ample and I have a SUV. The Ralphs is more upscale than most and also has a more homey feel than most supermarkets. My kids love the water fountain. read more

Regarding the parking spaces, I measured the spaces and they are approximately 7' wide, compact and non-compact. In fact, the spaces range from 6'5" to a few 8'5" (go toward the end of the side near Ralphs). A space in front of BCBG is 7'5" and the next row back, they are 7' wide. Typical parking spaces should run at least 8' but Caruso has crammed in more parking spaces to meet the required parking ratio for the additional restaurants and stores. The spaces that are periodically marked "compact" are the same size as those that are not. I used to run errands at the center because it was convenient (before it was caruso-fied) . Have had too many near misses and don't need my insurance premium to go up. read more
