Platform is a fun outdoor/indoor shopping center located in Culver City. I honestly hadn't heard much about this shopping center until one of my favorite stores broadcasted that they would be having a pop up located here. Platform was fairly simple to navigate in many ways. Coming from Ventura county it was a little bit of a drive which was to be expected but luckily this center isn't far off the 405 freeway which did make this very easy to get to. Also the parking garage is clear and colorful (easy to find). Seemed safe enough and I felt comfortable leaving my car behind, haha, harder to say in some parts of LA these days. The parking garage was reasonable on pricing and it had an attendant so easy peasy. I appreciated that they had multiple maps and signage so you can find where you're heading with ease. This shopping mall is slightly more upscale, I said it. Not $$$$ price point but the restaurants and some shops are a little boujee for the average person. It's no rodeo drive but I could see this maybe not being the most accessible price point for the average person. We knew the content of the shops though so we were fine but did we blow a few hundred dollars, definitely. They had a nice ratio of clothing shops, to home goods, and restaurants/drink stalls. However, in grand total the amount of stores is slightly underwhelming. We walked this shopping center pretty quickly and were eager to see more cute shops. Felt a little empty in some ways but if you come here in mind of a few stores you know you want to see then your fine, this spot just wouldn't be on my regular shopping rotation as there isn't enough for me to see to justify the drive. Our favorite stores though were definitely Catbird (jewelry) and the Mojave Flea Trading Post (heard this was only a pop up store through 2023). I'm hoping they'll maintain the good stores and continue to get creative in bringing more to this center as it has potential and overall was a nice and chill environment for a girls shopping day. read more

This is specifically regarding the parking structure for the Platform. It's terrible, truly terrible. Came in on a Friday night to stop and pick up food at sweetgreen who validates. When I entered at 8:30 pm there was an attendant at the gate. When I left at 8:50pm there was no attendant and putting my validated ticket into the machine at the gate made me pay $2. Pressed on the call button resulted in no response. The next week on a Friday, I pull in around 8:25pm and there's an attendant there so I told her about my experience before (validated ticket with no attendant) and she was not very helpful but said that there needs to be an attendant for a validated ticket to work. So, I asked how long she'll be there until, which she said 10pm. I left 15-20 minutes after entering the structure. As I was pulling up the gate, I SEE HER WALKING AWAY FROM THE GATE. I waive at her with my ticket and she looks at me and shakes her head (sorry I can't help you) as she continues to walk away. WTF! This parking structure is absolutely ridiculous. The "complimentary 15 minutes" is also a joke because no one can get in and out in under 15 minutes. Don't go to the Platform if you have to use the structure to park. read more

Bathrooms (both men's and women's) were shut down for many, many weeks + a sign saying "Under Construction", but nobody is ever seen working on them = Consumers start wondering if Platform is going out of business. The parking lot has dedicated many spots for the exclusive use of Electric vehicles. Many of those spots sit empty. I predict that this is a harbinger of future hostilities between conventional/hybrid car owners vs. all-electric vehicle owners. I would give higher stars if the owners cared to create an environment where you could actually pick up food quickly from the restaurants inside. They coned off all easily available street spots in front for valet which is always empty and there is no place to pull over for 5 minutes to pickup food o go. It's a mess on the street and the parking garage is always a hassle and full, so if you just need 5 minutes you don't want to pull in. They need to dedicate food pickup spots on the valet or on the street. They are driving away business for their restaurants by being so unaccommodating. locals complain about it constantly. Would love a salad at Sweetgreen but no place to run in quickly to get it! read more

This is the place for high-end luxury shopping. Platform is offering memberships at $200 a year so you can get discounts and complimentary parking. I avoided the parking lot because there was a line of cars waiting to go in. You can easily find street parking on Sundays and walk over. Came for the Lulu and Georgia pop-up and they have cute and eclectic home furnishing. Their pillows are nice. What's good about Platform is when they offer pop-ups so there's always something new to see. read more

Known about this place since its inception. While working nearby, it was always just a short walk or drive away. You'd be lucky to find an open spot inside of the parking structure these days- but I'd say worth a try if it looks empty. There is also street parking and another small lot in the back of the cul de sac. Street parking is usually easy to find on a good day, lol. When I'd go there for lunch on a weekday it was always easy. Oh yeah, not to mention its right across the street from the Metro station. I've seen shops come and go like a nail salon, flower stand, Poketo (miss you), Sao Acai (miss you) and other small specialty boutiques. Others have stayed like Loqui, Blue Bottle Coffee, and Aesop, Sweetgreen, Janessa Leone, Reformation, etc. During certain holidays they have things like a pumpkin patch and fake snow. Various pop-ups from companies like Rouje, Lulu & Georgia, and once even Roberta's which is now a permanent vendor. I enjoy this place the most when it is not completely full with other humans though it could be fun to people watch you just may not have any space to sit and relax. Between getting here and the parking situation, this reminded me of why I don't come out to Culver City. After reading up on the parking, I knew I was in for a dreadful start of my visit. Whoever decided to put the parking entrance/exit RIGHT when you turn onto Landmark St. off of Washington must have been high AF because this was a cluster...jam in every sense of the word. There are meters on both sides of the street if you drive further down, eventually bringing you to the cul-de-sac where you circle right back around just to do it all over again! On my third try I did find a spot at the very end-even better-with enough time remaining on the meter. Wasn't sure where to go at first but I passed another lot with a sign for Margot where they validate for a certain amount; not sure what exactly but if you're going to Margot, that would be a good place to park. I'll admit once I entered the premises, I calmed down some and actually enjoyed this little area. The closest shopping area that I thought this resembled was a much smaller scale of The Point on Sepulveda with the way it was set up. The shops I was targeting were Aesop and Van Leeuwen, which happened to be on the same side. I did want to try out Pop's Bagels until I realized not only did they close at 2p, but they are also an actual pop-up when I was under the impression they were here permanently. I want to shoot myself for considering a $5+ bagel but that will be another review. As frustrated as the trip here was, I would actually consider returning since I had decent experiences at the shops I actually stepped into. I didn't visit the other side where the actual parking garage was, but perhaps I'll make my way over another time, and possibly increase my rating. A relatively new outdoor shopping and dining complex in west LA, The Platform gives west sliders an alternative to the mega malls like Century City's and Fox Hill. The small size makes you feel more relaxed and their stores are not the ones you'll see in every mall. Many of them are environmentally friendly or more conscientious (like Reformation) but you have to pay dearly for them, like $200 for a shirt (that is, if you can find one on the sales rack). With discount giants like Target just a few blocks away, one would have to be very ultraistic to buy from these stores. Eateries and snack shops (boba, ice cream) are very nice. And it's a great place for pets or pet watching. Parking has been a problem since they opened. There are very few street parkings and residents in the area are not happy about the influx of visitors. There is a designated structures but it's not big, and most of the stores do not validate. I've only found Sweet Greens and Blue Bottle that will validate - even with that, you usually have to pay a few dollars. But that's west side for you. read more

I found the Platform to be.... overly pretentious. Platform feels kind of like the place where influencers dream about photo ops, where they shop, and hope to get sponsored by the stores here. It's got the Row vibe but the Row has amazing food and fun shops to browse, not to mention Smorgasboard every weekend. The food here is ok- mediocre and overpriced food that's definitely not worth the parking cost nor hassle. The big shops here are Reformation, Lulu & Georgia, Catbird, and Sezane, the latter three popups of which are gone. Reformation has very limited inventory on the floor, and even more limited sizing. The girls kept telling me to service myself at the kiosk and then telling me to shop online instead. Ok so why do I even bother to come in then... Getting here is not fun. I don't spend more than 10min at the shops I talked about above because inventory is small. There's nothing else in the area to do, and the surrounding area is not that nice once you're out of the Platform area. I know I'll be back if there's another interesting popup that comes to town, but honestly hard pass. There are more fun places in LA to hang out at. The parking garage is actually abysmal, like downtown rates and clusterfck trying to get in and out, so I park a little farther away nearby but got harassed by transients on the walk there. My friend and I decided to pick up some coffee at the platform and parked in the parking structure. We noted that the first 15 minutes were free, which was just the right amount of time. As we were driving up, we noticed a long line of cars trying to exit, as it seemed that the machine to exit was broken and they had some structure attendants helping with the tickets. We got our coffee in 10 minutes and had just enough time to spare as we made our way down. There was a car in front of us who couldn't find their ticket, which pushed us over the 15 minutes by one minute. When we tried to explain the situation to the parking attendant, she rudely barked at us, "so you don't want to pay??" We tried to nicely explain again that we had been waiting in line, but the person in front of us, who she had been helping, was holding everyone up. She rudely yelled at us again, saying "you don't want to pay? Then leave!" Really poor customer service, when we were just trying to explain the situation. Come to think of it, Every time I've been to this parking structure, they have had issues with the machine to leave. So just beware. read more

Culver City's Hipster/Millennial Answer to The Grove Last weekend, I was invited to a party at Platform. Since I've driven by this place every week, I was curious to see what it was. Hidden behind some black and white buildings splashed with color is a lovely upscale, outdoor shopping mall that feels miles away from busy Washington Blvd. Nosh on waffles at Hayden, salads at Sweetgreen, juice at Juice Served Here, mesquite-grilled goodies at Loqui, coffee and pastries at Blue Bottle, and gourmet (including vegan) ice cream at Van Leeuwen. Work it off at SoulCycle. Tom Dixon, Cynthia Rowley, Design Public, The Edit and more can easily destroy your wallet. There's street parking if you don't want to use their lot. Loving this space across from the Metro Parking Lot in Culver City. It is truly an oasis. This is a great place to meet friends. Everyone can just catch the train here and share a little meal, chat over coffee, indulge in VanLeewen ice cream, shop at local artisan shops or just hang around. On the corner is the Christmas Platform Popup with Roberta's pizza. The outdoor pizza spot is located in the midst of a pine-tree laden Christmas tree lot and holiday boutique stands. This is a review about the parking. We get our bread at Bianca's / delicious sour dough. Just came in after kids school (at 2:15 pm) to purchase wine item - bread. Parking is impossible. All the electric designated vehicle spots right by the entrance taken by non electric vehicles. I run to the elevator from the 3rd floor. No line at Bianca's, purchase the bread and run to my car. I am there at 16 not 15 min due to cars trying to leave in front of me. Lady's says, everyone has to pay ! A minute late ? Not from from my fault ! Advertises 15 minutes free parking. This is false, they most likely round up and you actually only have 14 minutes. This is important to know because it has the only Supercharger along highway 10 if you're driving to/from the westside. Enough for a quick boost. I check the time as we're driving in, waiting for at least 10 seconds before taking the ticket to see if the minute flips over. It doesn't and someone is behind me so I take it and pull in. Charge for about 9 minutes after a minute to park. Just about to pull out, but have to wait for a small parade of cars. Stuck waiting for them to pay their tickets. That's what the five minute buffer is for. The minute flips over just as I'm pulling up. I know I have at least ten seconds left. But the machine charges for a full hour. The attendant doesn't care. "Everyone has to wait. You're over 15 minutes. You pay like everyone else." Besides the terrible customer service, that's factually incorrect. Can I go back and at least get a full charge for my $2 admission? No, I can't back up because there's too many cars behind me, and I can't go forward without paying up. It's only $2 so not a highway robbery, though in certain regards it kinda is one. read more

I'm so not a shopping mall type of gal. I much prefer boutiques and mom & pop stores whenever I need to make a new purchase. The Platform is a very hip and modern place with highly curated shops that cater to a certain clientele with specific aesthetics. Take a look at their website and you'll see. My favorite is Reformation (of course, that's a given!) and it's really the only shop I frequent. Other shops that I like are Bird Brooklyn, Freda Salvador, Poketo and Janessa Leone. I haven't tried any of the dining places but it's also carefully chosen to satisfy a hankering from artisan ice cream, açaí bowls to organic local flare. I love how convenient it is from the Culver City metro station and it's just a block to/from the Co-opporunity market. I also like the unique pop-ups they have. Right now ROUJE from Paris is there (next to Reformation) until June. Their website has a schedule of current and upcoming pop-ups. I'm looking forward to The Hand & Rose flower truck with their cute little yellow bus filled with fresh seasonal flowers. As far as parking go, I have no idea where it is, lol. And it's probably a good thing since everyone in the reviews state their parking garage is awful. When I come here I either take the metro or leave my car at the Co-op after I finish shopping for my groceries and walk a block over. read more

Besides the fact that there's not much going on in here, room for improvement is not the worst thing. The restaurants are what grants the three stars from me, even though I wasn't able to get a look at Margot (upstairs) due to an out of service elevator. The space itself is so cute, I just wish it had a bit more to offer for the local patron. Res Ipsa, Guild, the unnamed overpriced pop-up shop... you've GOT to be kidding me. Over $250 for ONE boring article of clothing. This isn't Beverly Hills! I'm not entirely sure how these ridiculously priced boutiques could even stay afloat. So far- Blue Bottle, Van Leeuwen, Sweet Green & Bondi Harvest have my support. I'm not sure if I'd even be able to afford anywhere else, and I actually live within walking distance. PARKING IS A SCAM. I paid $2 to pick up food (took 2 minutes). They only have 15 minutes of free parking now and filled up the first 4 floors with mostly tesla parking, which usually is always empty. They make gas cars slowly snake their way up the parking lot and the whole parking process takes more than 15 min. Finally made it down to Platform as we wanted to try Robert's from Brooklyn pizza (and it was AMAZING). Also got a salad to go from Sweet Green which we enjoyed at home with the leftover pizza. I like this airey "mall" even though I'm NOT a millennial as it wasn't crowded on a Sunday afternoon and I hear they have some pop ups now and again. Not a fan of expensive clothing shops -- so I'll just be coming for the restaurants (and take the train as the parking can be pricey as not every place validates and there is limited street parking). Looks like the whole neighborhood under the Metro is under construction as two other HUGE malls are in the works. read more

Totally impressed with this outdoor open air mall landscaped with desert loving cactus plants throughout the mall. So many restaurants, clothing stores with one of a kind clothing selections, a beautiful park loaded with pumpkins for the children's up coming Halloween. Over all most people were wearing their mask while window shopping. Each store offers sanitizers for your hands before handing their merchandise. The rest of the shopping area is pretty cool ... especially if you're a millennial with expendable income to hang out in such hipster spots. So paying $5 to park was no big deal, as I'll likely not be back anytime soon. It was a convenient meeting place for a family outing. First off, there was no sign to indicate where the parking structure even was. And it was a long ass block to drive around to get back out to Washington Blvd. When leaving to pay, there was a machine to put your ticket into. But an attendant was standing there out in the cold to take your cash. Huh? "Right turn only" to exit the structure makes no sense, as that street is a dead-end. So, what happened to the hip architectural design when it came to parking? Best get back to the drawing board on that one. read more

The shops are great, but my experiences at the parking structure over the last few months have really soured me on this place. The parking attendants that work here are rude and unhelpful. In fairness there is one older gentlemen that is very nice, but I cannot say the same about his colleagues. On multiple occasions they have made me pay for parking even when the parking ticket is clearly validated and I am exiting the structure on time. They also just charge whoever they feel like in a completely arbitrary manner. My gf and I drove separately to SoulCycle, she arrived before I did and left after I did. The attendant just waved her through. Good for her for getting lucky, but it's unfortunate that your experience varies based on what mood the person working the parking gate is in. If you have to come here, save yourself a headache and use metered parking. read more

I came here 2x for ice cream and once for brunch then dinner. This place is okay. I wish they had more stores or restaurants. None of the places here really catch my eye that I'd be dying to come back. The Platform is very trendy, ritzy, upscale with what they put inside. The whole place looks like a West Elm photo shoot. I might come to the taco place to try it one day, but since there isn't much to do, I'd rather not come this way just to eat and leave. The first 2 hours of parking are free. There is a Soul Cycle here, Sweetgreens, nail salon, ice cream shop, a natural make up store, a natural mani pedi place, a juicery/coffee counter place, a men's store, a surf store, and a women's clothing store.
