Christmas decor at night. So pretty.

Culver City has come a long way since I was a kid. I usually park here if I'm checking out a restaurant in the area or going to one of my favorite bookstores, The Ripped Bodice, which is like a block and some change away. Consistently clean and during the summer, the steps themselves are a great place to enjoy some ice cream or casual meal. If you're a fan of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, peep the background in the episode where the gang goes to Ireland. They filmed part of it near The Steps.

10/27/2021 Great place to hangout or meet with others. There's coffee nearby, food, theater when they open again. Relax, read a book or your phone, tablet, whatever. Just a good place to chill and let your kids run around.

Need to update for water bottles or at the very least have working water fountains

Needs accessible water. They do a great job of having bathrooms and keeping them cleaned. I love this "third space" for dining, snacks, community, etc. but it's definitely time for them to get a working water fountain especially for filling water bottles, that's been kind of a basic amenity in most public spaces and institutions for over a decade now

The Culver Steps is a nice & peaceful place to chill out with your loved ones or casual friend meetups. It's situated in the heart of Culver City between The Culver Studios and The Culver Hotel. This place is surrounded by restaurants, casual bistros and quick-bite eateries like coffee shops, Ice cream stores. Has a Sephora store too. The place is clean & maintained well. Parking is ample and easily available and is free up-to an hour or so. Kid friendly place Lots of outdoor seating area available. Worth checking this spot when you are in this part of the town.

Came here around 9:30 on a Saturday night with a friend. Honestly this is probably everyone's future date spot because there plenty of food options across the street, lots of parking, some shopping and some food in the same structure, and a really beautiful/romantic outdoor area to just sit and chill. There were a lot of couple that night, but still plenty of space to find a place to sit and maintain social distancing from other groups while getting cozy with your boo (or in my case gossip with my other single friend). Culver City may not be the most exciting part of LA, but these few blocks on Culver Blvd really feel like something out of a movie. If you're interested in the nearby eateries (we weren't) definitely come for a post-dinner/pre-night out ice cream at Salt n' Straw. Parking is ample and free for a certain amount of time (I forget how much, but we were there for 45 minutes and it was free so maybe an hour or two?). The parking system is brand new and works well (unlike parking in LA where you're fighting a 15 year old machine sometimes). And enjoy the blissful, picturesque backdrop of Culver: a place that can sometimes feel magical.

The Culver Steps is the project that is located in the heart of downtown Culver City, adjacent to multiple historic and iconic structures, and the large underground parking garage is very convenient with reasonable rates, walkable distance to many restaurants and coffee shops. I have come here a few times for dining and walking.

I really love this area! I love that there is Salt & Straw, Lululemon pop up for the summer, and a lot of great free activities and offerings! There are great places to sit and just hang out too. There is a Sephora and of course the 30 or so restaurants in downtown Culver.

As an open air mall, this style of shopping is inviting and enjoyable. Visiting frequently as a kid, it is a completely different experience. Stores are more high end than I remember. Crowds were exponentially greater! Lines for several stores (including Olive Young) to get in and for Ramen blew my mind. If you want a place to watch the world cup, courtyard is ready and inviting. This area was nice with the high rise century city backdrop. Although it was more crowded than I expected, meeting friends for lunch was great. The restaurant choices are wonderful. We planned to eat at one spot, but due to the wait we changed it up and it was a total hit. Parking was crazy! Lines to go up and down, it took forever to pull in a spot. The prices are expensive too if ya make a day here. Very few places validate.

Westfield Century City came to the rescue as it was about 7 miles away. Cool beans! Parking is plentiful. First hour of parking is free. Additional hours will be charged at the current rates accordingly. We were here for almost 5-6 hours. It went by really fast. It was our first time here so didn't know what to expect. Shortly upon arrival, we figured out it's an outdoor shopping mall with an upscale mix of name brand stores, boutique shops, elevated restaurants, food court with quick bites/snack/drink vendors, and fun entertainment. Overall exterior was well cared for in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. It wasn't super busy nor crowded which is great sometimes because congestion of people traffic may make our dining and shopping experience a bit hard to handle. We got to see the Disney+ Hulu Throwbacks Mini Mall Pop Up showcased in the huge courtyard. It brought back some nostalgia. Neat retro activity! We hit the food court first since we were starving. We grabbed a little something from Tosai Sushi, Poukei, AC Barbeque, Fuwa Teriyaki Grill, O'Gusto, and Massis Kabob. A few were good, but not all. Check out my reviews for each one. Thanks! After our lunch, we walked around to look for drinks and desserts. We indulged in a little something from Chamberlian Coffee, Chagee Modern Tea House, Cafe Knotted, Oakberry Acai, Wushiland Boba, K. Minamoto, and Bacio di Latte. Yes, we hit most of the good sweet spots. Yum! We weren't here to shop so didn't go into any clothing stores or boutique shops. Although, we did walk into a Pop Mart to satisfy my curiosity. Colorful store with interesting dolls. Didn't buy anything though. We barely scratched the surface at this mall. We hope to come back as a returning customer to some of the biz supported and be a new customer to other businesses that we haven't explored as of yet. See you here!

There was Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Jim Carrey even stayed hours after he needed to until he had spoken, taken pictures, and signed books for every single person who had waited in line for him. However, after the COVID pandemic they've noticeably stopped coming. Still, The Grove is a nice place to visit because it is so polished and touristy. There's the dancing fountain, free trolley, movie theater, shops and restaurants. Meanwhile, The Farmers Market is right next door, so you can easily walk there as well. It's a good place to kill time. Some stores are a bit on the pricey side, though. The trolley is a bit silly since the ride is so short. It takes longer to wait for the trolley than to just walk from one end of the mall to the other. It is a free novelty, though, so if you have nothing better to do, might as well. Recently, there was a parade and festival at LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) and I noticed several other people like me walking from there to The Grove since it's only around a 20 minute walk up Fairfax Ave. I think people decided to walk since parking at LACMA is $23 no matter what and we didn't want to pay it again. Parking at The Grove isn't cheap either, but it's easy and convenient since it's a huge multi-story parking garage with digital numbers that tell you how many spots are available on each level. My go to restroom is at the top level of Barnes & Noble, but there's also one at Farmers Market. The views of The Grove from the upper levels of Barnes & Noble are nice. There's also an onsite cafe on that level. Meanwhile, this Barnes & Noble is apparently one of the biggest in the US. Around the holidays, they put up one of the tallest Christmas trees in the US. They hang flying reindeer and a sleigh above the dancing fountain. They also put up a Santa house in the middle of the street where you can take pictures with Santa for a fee. One of the changes I didn't like around the dancing fountain, which is one of the few spots with trees and shade, is that they roped it off so that it became outdoor seating for the restaurants whereas before it was open to anyone. Even though I don't live near here anymore, I still end up visiting every now and then because of nearby festivals. At this point it's so familiar to me that as another reviewer had said "It's an LA staple."

Platform was fairly simple to navigate in many ways. Coming from Ventura county it was a little bit of a drive which was to be expected but luckily this center isn't far off the 405 freeway which did make this very easy to get to. Also the parking garage is clear and colorful (easy to find). Seemed safe enough and I felt comfortable leaving my car behind, haha, harder to say in some parts of LA these days. The parking garage was reasonable on pricing and it had an attendant so easy peasy. I appreciated that they had multiple maps and signage so you can find where you're heading with ease. This shopping mall is slightly more upscale, I said it. Not $$$$ price point but the restaurants and some shops are a little boujee for the average person. It's no rodeo drive but I could see this maybe not being the most accessible price point for the average person. We knew the content of the shops though so we were fine but did we blow a few hundred dollars, definitely. They had a nice ratio of clothing shops, to home goods, and restaurants/drink stalls. However, in grand total the amount of stores is slightly underwhelming. We walked this shopping center pretty quickly and were eager to see more cute shops. Felt a little empty in some ways but if you come here in mind of a few stores you know you want to see then your fine, this spot just wouldn't be on my regular shopping rotation as there isn't enough for me to see to justify the drive. Our favorite stores though were definitely Catbird (jewelry) and the Mojave Flea Trading Post (heard this was only a pop up store through 2023). I'm hoping they'll maintain the good stores and continue to get creative in bringing more to this center as it has potential and overall was a nice and chill environment for a girls shopping day.
