Had a great experience with family from out of town! Beautiful view with outdoor seating and a delicious dinner! Two thumbs up.

This is definitely not my first time here, been here with family before had no issues of any kind really and when there were any kind of issues the manager working that night/day explained and took care of things. Except for my recent visit, I called in about 7 asking the wait time for 2, said 20-30 minutes subject to change... okay understandable, when we arrived around 7:30 or so, we asked for a seat for 2 sitting outside, took around 10 minutes for the manager to tell us he was working to clear a table, then another few minutes go by, and he comes back saying we can sit at the bar it's open bar, okay not what we wanted but we wanted to sit and eat, so we sat at the bar, got our drinks ordered some appetizers, when we got our appetizers maybe 15 minutes into eating those appetizers we ordered our entree meals, $40 8oz filet, and creamy Cajun pasta, we then finished our appetizers, and about 15 minutes later the bartender was telling us she was still waiting on our food to come out...okay ordered another round of drinks, another 20 minutes goes by, she comes back telling us she's still waiting on our meals, this is the 2nd time being told we were waiting on our meals, granted the indoor seating had died down not many people in the indoor seating not sure of outdoor seating after about an hour of waiting on food, we get our food, and the food was not at all very warm or fresh like it had just came off the cooktop. When we got our food it took us 10 minutes to eat what we could manage cause we were hungry. Extremely disappointed in the wait time from appetizers to entrees, not sure if our meal was forgotten or we were just overlooked or the bartender wasn't necessarily worried about serving us our entrees. Bill was close to 170 with tip, not really sure I can ever justify spending that kind of money at a restaurant if the food isn't gonna be brought out in timely manner with the upmost food quality. Unsure what the reasoning for the seating issues were or what, but again when coming with my family mom and dad there's almost zero issues, but when it's just 2 young adults coming into eat it's like they judge the book before the cover. Enjoy the restaurant at your own risk is all I can say at this point. Disappointed. read more

I am very upset with this place. We went for my birthday dinner and basically was ignored the entirety of the night. The waitress took 20 mins to bring us mustard and another 10 to bring ketchup we asked for and we could see her clearly talking with other customers and taking her time. When it was time for dessert they didn't even sing happy birthday and told us next time to not sit where we were. The food was cold when it was served and even colder after waiting. Overall I am very upset that I wasted my birthday here. read more

We had a much better experience this time than last time. Our waitress was amazing this trip. Last time our waitress never checked on us. The food choices we made were better. The drink prices are a little high, in my opinion. The food was well cooked, but could have had more flavor . We enjoyed the live music...best aspect of the meal. Watersview Restaurant - Great times with family! - American Near Me - Littleton, North Carolina

Watersview is located on Lake Gaston at the end of the Eaton's Ferry bridge. They have a small deck with outdoor seating which should provide a great view of the summer sunset over the lake. The have a fairly limited wine list but do have several good beers on tap. The menu includes beef, seafood, chicken and pasta. On our most recent visit, I had the Creamy Cajun Gumbo. This dish had shrimp, chicken and Italian sausage, peppers and onions in a Sambuca liquer cream sauce and was served over penne. It was excellent and had just the right mix of sweetness and spice. The portion was huge making for a good lunch on the following Monday. My wife had pan seared sea scallops in a wine and butter sauce. The scallops were good sized, cooked just right and the portion was ample. They came with a pan fried risotto cake. It was a little salty but an interesting take on risotto. Watersview is a bright spot on the fairly limited Lake Gaston area dining scene. Note that during the winter, it is only open Fri, Sat and Sun. read more

Terrible place to go. We never received our meal... After waiting an hour we still had not received our dinner. Our calamari appetizer did arrive and looked ( and tasted) like it had just been removed from the freezer and microwaved. We never received refills on our water and waited 20 minutes for children to receive sofa refills. We actually ended up walking out ( trying to pay for our appetizer & drinks.. However we were told management would take care of the bill) After sitting for an hour & not seeing the waitress and receiving our dinner we left and went to THE POINTE right down the road.... much better experience! I've never walked out of a place before... this place by far was the worst place I've ever been to for service. Awful! Absolutely awful they should be embarrassed. read more

My favorite restaurant on Lake Gaston! Spent our 27th Anniversary dinner here. Amazing service and food excellent!! I recommend the Blackened Salmon...yum!! Owner went above and beyond helping us when people on the outside deck tried to block our view by moving tables to suit their needs without consideration of others inside. The owners had a place to seat them in a better location but the guests left angry because they did not get their way. I love the owners here who try to please!!! read more

My personal favorite restaurant on the lake. Can be very busy, especially in season. Entrées are high quality, especially for the lake region - even the less expensive Southern Style menu is quite good. Spring, Summer and early Fall are the best times to go if you want atmosphere, as sitting outside on the deck is beautiful, especially at sunset. On my most recent visit I had the prime rib special with a baked potato and steamed broccoli. The prime rib was nicely seasoned and cooked correctly to the perfect "sweet spot" between rare and medium rare. Broccoli was good and not wilted or steamed into mush, and the potato was baked to the right degree of firmness. (Although, let's be real, unless you keep it for 16 hours it's pretty hard to screw up a baked potato.) My wife's choice of the Filet was also correctly done medium-rare and was a pretty spectacular cut, very flavorful. Closing off the evening was what is referred to in-house as "The Cake", a multi-layer confection which was as fantastic as it always is. Overall, while it's far from the cheapest food on Lake Gaston, it's also some of the best, outshining pretty much everything local (including Roanoke Rapids). While not on the level of a "great" restaurant in the DC area, it's as close as you're going to get while enjoying the slower Lake Gaston pace. read more

We found this amazing restaurant by mistake while getting lost around Lake Gaston. The log cabin venue juts out right as the bridge touches the land making a scenic view perfect for taking in an evening gazing at the lake. We sat outside to take in the jet skiers and boaters cruise by and the summer sun disappear behind the North Carolina trees. I reluctantly ordered the crab cake dish. I'm also wary of kitchens replacing the delectable crustacean meat with fillers. The Watersview Restaurant did not disappoint. Just enough ingredients to keep the cake together, my crab cakes bursted with flavor. Baked to perfection, it was one of the best crab cakes I've ever had. It was accompanied with world-class garlic, red-skinned mashed potatoes and freshly picked green beans. (I know what freshly picked string beans taste like. I'm sure they were on the vine yesterday). My wife ordered the fried flounder along side a baked potato and the same green beans. Her oversized flounder almost hung over the plate. It was crispy, well-seasoned, light and fluffy. The server were young but helpful. They moved quick trying to meet the requests of all the guests needs. Highly recommended restaurant! read more

Had dinner here last weekend & compared to the other places on the lake, it was quite nice. Food was good & reasonable priced (for the lake area a bit expensive but not compared to most places elsewhere). We went in early November at night so we couldn't eat outside, but I would imagine the evenings in the Spring or Summer would be great outside on the deck. I do have one minor complaint. Whoever designed the restaurant wasn't very thoughtful in how they installed the lighting & ceiling fans in the dining room. The lights are closer to the ceiling & the fans are below (most ceiling fans are above the lighting). The entire time we were there the fans were on & with the lights above the fans it looked like the entire restaurant was "flickering" with the light. It was awful. Honestly, I almost got up & left. I felt like I was going to have motion sickness. Other than that it was a nice dinner & I would definitely return. read more

Today was not what we had experienced years ago. While the fried calamari was excellent and the grilled chicken was pretty good the remainder of the meal was not good. The burgers were extremely dry with a medium well burger coming out black and hard and the other ingredients overcooked. Three of the pastas were cold and fourth was just above room temperature. The flavor of the pasta was good. The time from sitting down to getting our food was over an hour and 1/2 with the bread coming to us 30+ min after arriving. If you do go try to sit in the upstairs dining area which has a nice ambiance as the bottom is very rec hall feeling. The view at sunset is spectacular. read more

My wife and I wanted to try somewhere different today. So we decided to cruise down to beautiful Lake Gaston and visit Waters View for lunch. The lakeside view is perfect! The wait staff is warm and friendly. There's a very nice selection of craft brews on tap from local and regional crafters. I had a burger and she had a grilled chicken sandwich - both of which were delightful. Our waitress was great and the young woman behind the bar was especially friendly and helpful, answering questions about the area and making recommendations on other places to explore! My experience was awful. The staff was non-existent. Paid $8 for the worst bloddy mary of my life. 1 oz of cheap off-brand vodka, 6 oz of cheap bottled mix. No garnish, in a cheap, plastic cup. This is the kind of place that changes like the weather, no doubt. We came on a Friday evening for dinner and were by FAR the youngest guests. Dining room is a little loud and the food doesn't really reflect the lake the restaurant overlooks. Would have loved to see catfish in the menu. We had a party of 10 and everyone REALLY enjoyed their meal. Highlights - Buffalo shrimp app was great - BLT Wedge salad was really good - spinach salad with warm bacon dressing - yummy - Seared tuna was super fresh and cooked perfect I could go on and on, it was all really good. Took my family there this past weekend. They were seating according to covid guidelines. Fairly busy even with restrictiond. The meals were a little pricey for the area with a plain burger at $13.00 and $18.00 for the premium house burger. The neals were very good and the service was good also. However, dessert was a disapointment. The portions were very good but very small. We ordered two deserts, the peanut butter pie and pie al la mode, total $17+. Spoke to the manager, very nice person, essentiakky said, thanks for your input, i'll let the chef know. That was it. Maybe being a little zealous attempting to cut costs. read more

We were a party of 9. We were very patient as they were busy and we understand being short staffed. Well as we sat there for 1.5 hours and still had not even received our salads, one member of our party got up to inquire, only to find out our waitress quit and walked out (right after she delivered the only appetizer we ordered), which was within 20 minutes of us sitting down. Obviously no one checked her tables to see if our orders had been put into the kitchen - they had not. So over 3 hours, we finally finished our dinner and left. They brought out 3 desserts for a table of 9 people. Although this was a nice gesture, they did not ask us, they just brought it. Most of us don't eat desserts and one of us was allergic to cinnamon, which one of the desserts (3 on one plate) had cinnamon sprinkled on top of it which touched the other desserts (so she could partake in the comp). We told the waitress we did not want desserts, but she indicated it was too late because the manager was already walking out with it. We requested a discount on food instead. Floor manager said other manager comped the dessert, so we asked for him to come out and her replied was "I can give you a discount"., which image did give us a 20% discount, which is appreciated, but we had to ask for it several times before agreed to. Food is overpriced for quality. Sorry Waterview, this was not our first visit to your restaurant, but it will be our last. Really wanted it to be better this time, but it wasn't. read more

We just spent over two hours at the restaurant without being served dinner. An hour at the bar waiting for the pager to signal us to our table. Once at our table, the waitress came over 20 minutes later. We immediately order our entrees and wait another 45 minutes without anyone checking on our table or making us feel like they were at least sorry for the wait. Eventually asked for a manager to explain just how long our wait was and we were tired and at this point starving. Of course our food still was not ready so we left and returned home with no dinner at 9:20 after waiting since 7. We have eaten here numerous times with expected wait times and had decent service and delicious food. Tonights experience will linger for some time! read more

Several friends and I stopped by for lunch over Labor Day Weekend. I was on a wing hunt, so I ordered wings and fried calamari. First, the wings were great. I enjoyed their flavor, and the meat was juicy and not overcooked. The calamari rings were a bit small but still delicious. Others in my party did not enjoy the meal as well. The service was a bit slow, but I'm going to chock that up to the limited staff at the end of the season. I would comeback and try some other dishes. read more

Amazing view of Lake Gaston. Came to Warrenton, NC on a Sunday night and there isn't much open for dinner, but this was one of three that was recommended and we decided to make the drive out to the lake. Slight wait, good service, tasty food. Tried the ribs and the meatloaf sandwich as it intrigued us. Food was tasty but we prefer a little more spicy seasoning on our ribs (we're from Texas), and felt the meatloaf sandwich was just missing s little "something", maybe some red pepper flakes or possibly mozzarella cheese? We decided to go to Lake Gaston and look around at homes for sale, so we ended up getting hungry and started to look for a place to eat. We drove around for awhile before we found Watersview, a couple of places were closed. When we arrived we were greeted by the manager who was extremely friendly and personable. We sat outside even though it was a little warm but the scenery is very nice, the view of the lake is very good. We were served by a young man named Tre who was extremely friendly and very attentive. We both ordered clubs, though my wife can't eat pork, so she had them drop the ham and bacon and add more turkey, which they did without any problems. The food was good, the beer was good and my wife got the house Pinot Grigio which she said was not very good. Overall the experience should warrant five stars but the menu is very limited, though pretty typical for a bar and grill and the beer prices are a bit ridiculous. A "large" Stella was nearly seven bucks, and that is tap. The location next to the lake probably substantiates the price of the beer but I still find that a negative. The service is excellent though and being used to very poor service being from Wilson, it was a pleasant departure. We will definitely stop by again, I just might limit my drinking more than usual. read more

We are locals and live here year round. There is no better restaurant at the Lake for quality food, menu and service and we have tried them all from South Hill,& Emporia to Henderson & Rocky Mount. They always have specials on the menu and even the standard fare is well done and the regular help are excellent. Summer can be busy and help sometimes have issues until they learn the ropes. You can't go wrong with the Watersview. read more

Our first time here tonight and we were very disappointed with the food. The frozen rockfish was almost inedible, the green beans were very spicy, and the asparagus had a strange flavor. Everything else food-wise was fine, but nothing special. The service and mixed drink were good, but not enough to make up for the food. Won't be back. read more

My friends & family have eaten here many times since it opened. As I was reading the other reviews, I discovered there are some harsh ones & that surprised me. Most restaurants have a bad night occasionally. So, that's par for the course,.... Except when it happens to you. This weekend the place was hopping! We had to park up on the hill, the lot was so crowded. The overflowing wait line, all the way out the door, was intimidating. However,we were determined to stay & enjoy our dinner. V went in to see how long the wait & to put our name on the wait list. A lovely lady, who had just walked in & started to engage the host, V very politely informed the lady that she was next. The lady was embarrassed & apologized and V, being "raised up right", smiled & started saying that was ok, it's so crowded, blah blah...when the host, told V to relax, everyone would have their turn. As Mother Hen, standing in the back & listening, my feathers were ruffled. The host took our name & in response to 'how long is the wait time?', he had no idea. We'd find out for ourselves. The feathers were ruffled a bit more. I suggested to the family that we leave. V over ruled me, saying she hoped we don't get on the other list,(s--t list... Which I thought was a valid statement), but we should wait. The one good thing about having to wait with a bunch of customers before you....some are going to get 'ticked off' and leave, making your wait shorter, which is exactly what happened. Turns out the host had a dry sense of humor, he was funny and engaging. Joking with V about the name of a town she left with him for the call up. So, our wait was much shorter than we had thought, which is always a good thing. The place was packed, which is normal for this restaurant on the weekends. Our server was Beth. She was friendly and accommodating. I thought our wait at the table would be longer, but it wasn't at all. The food was excellent, as it has always been here. I had the Grilled Shrimp, Hubby had Scallops & Pasta, V had the Trio Pasta (3 different seafood selections), & I can't remember what B ordered, but he said it was great! Our water glasses were never empty & neither was Hubby's tea glass. As with any resort restaurant, there will be a wait during the season. However, the wait is worth it at The Watersview. Just a side note: are you a people watcher? I am & I love it! I noticed something about our group that night. Do you know how Mommies & Daddies entertain their kids during a 'wait'...for anything (food, movie, taking turns on toys or rides, etc.)? I was antsy about waiting, B & V turned a group game on their phone to entertain ...(or distract?)...us during the wait!! AHHHHHH, the tables have turned, it seems! Hubby & I are entering the "we are more child-like & have no patience" stage. My hat's off the B & V, quick thinking & good job! read more
