Charles river
Paul F.

Moving in and first impressions. The office staff was friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable. The floor plans they showed us were clean and well appointed with new appliances, washer and dryer and lots of windows. The apartment building is located on Monday st and borders the Charles river. It has a great outdoor common area as well as a WiFi room complete with private conference rooms and a ping pong table in the common area. I chose a room with a river view, Maloney (the Cronin's Landing staff person I worked with) spent time telling me that I am above a restaurant and may hear some live band noise on the patio in the summer. I appreciated the full disclosure. The move in process was easy with a low deposit. They locked an elevator for me during the time of my move. Having that elevator made the move very easy. I find the security very good but see sometimes that people let others in without asking if they are visiting or live there. Overall, I am very happy with the area, Moody st has many retail stores and places to eat, Taras Pizza is particularly good. I love the view from my appt and the neighbors seem friendly.

Was here for a tour so this is a review of the tour experience and of the space we toured. We…read morearrived at 4:29 pm for a 4:30 pm, early but not unreasonable. The office team was unprepared and for some reason, rolled their eyes at me and my partner for asking for our scheduled tour. Before heading out of the leasing office, our tour guide and the other woman in the office were laughing and making fun behind the backs of another group that came to tour which felt wrong. I didn't feel comfortable with that. We leave the office for the tour and our guide does not talk to us and is 50 feet ahead of us without turning around to make sure we were following alright. Then, we get inside the unit and she immediately gets on her phone. Whenever we had questions about the closet or appliances, she seemed annoyed and gave very vague answers. The space itself was clean but the ceilings felt really low which made the space feel smaller. The place was also very hilly with lots of stairs to get to the fitness center, etc. Parking was affordable compared to other places we toured at first car free and 85 for second car. Decent space but I really did not enjoy the experience of interacting with the office so it'll be a no for me. To top all this off, I keep getting automated emails saying I missed my tour appointment and that they'd love to show the space to me. Guess the office never even bothered to check me in.

I would strongly caution anyone considering living here. We have experienced a severe and ongoing…read moremouse infestation that management has failed to properly resolve. We have seen multiple mice daily, including mice running rampant throughout the apartment, climbing on furniture, getting into food, and even being found in beds while our children were sleeping. This is completely unacceptable and has made the apartment feel unsafe and unsanitary. Despite repeated reports, videos, and evidence of the infestation, management has not taken effective action to fix the problem, yet still expects tenants to continue paying full rent while living in these conditions. Snacks and pantry items have been eaten through and contaminated, and we have had to constantly worry about the health and safety of our family. In addition to the pest issues, appliances in the apartment constantly break down and are not repaired in a timely or reliable manner, adding even more stress to an already terrible living situation. To make matters worse, after we contacted the city regarding the unsanitary living conditions, management escalated the situation by involving legal representation instead of working toward a reasonable solution for their tenants. Overall, this has been an extremely disappointing and stressful experience. Tenants deserve to live in safe, sanitary housing, and unfortunately that has not been our experience here. Please think twice before moving here. Paying 4000k a month to live with mice LOVE THAT FOR US!

They are always coming up with new ideas and ways to engage the community. They're the most friendly and helpful management team I've ever seen after 14 years of apartment living. 2. Great amenities and new building - the amenities (6th floor rooftop deck and gym, as well as various seating areas and lounges) are top notch and well maintained. 3. Good value - considering the location, age of the building and amenities available, I thought it was a good value compared to the other luxury apartment complexes in Boston. Cons: 1. Poor flooring - for whatever reason, the flooring in the units is very thin. I've never had noise issues before until I live in this building. If you have an upstairs neighbor who is a stomper like I do, then you're pretty much screwed as you'll hear considerable noise and vibration whenever they walk around their apartment. 2. Traffic noise is sometime excessive - unfortunately, the building's location (right beside a major intersection) means that sirens and auto noise (i.e. honks and truck exhausts) are frequent throughout the day and loud enough to penetrate the windows. Thankfully, traffic dies down in the morning and evening, so it isn't such a big deal I'd say if you can get a top floor, inner unit (i.e. not facing Leo M Birmingham Parkway), then this apartment complex is most likely one of the best places to live in Boston!

The staff in the leasing center is very nice and helpful. If something in your apartment is broken, a maintenance guy comes out very quick to fix the problem. The commuter rail is right there and in the spring the girls Brandeis track team is always running around, which is nice. Now onto the bad points. There are lots of spiders for some reason in the apartments. I've seen this written on other review sites and it's true. They don't really bother me and I send them to a watery swirling death in the toilet when I come across them. Like I said the landscaping is excellent, but they mow and weedwack starting at 7am once a week, it's impossible to sleep through that. The walls are paper thin. The buildings are all 3 floors and if you're on the middle floor like I am, you hear everything from upstairs and downstairs. I've been lucky though and have had pretty quite neighbors. There is a small pool but you have to pay an ungodly amount to become a member, you can't just stroll in and hop in the pool or on a lounge chair, which by the way looks very nice though. All in all, it's not a bad place, but for the money you might be able to do a bit better. Heat is included in the rent though, which is a life saver.
