Cronin's Landing is a wonderful place to live. David, Petyo and Frank work hard every day to be sure apartment issues are solved as best as possible. Once a problem is submitted, they arrive as soon as possible and give excellent service. Melissa and Melanie, two very competent women, work long hours to keep Cronin's operating smoothly. They do everything they can to make life better for us all. With so many residents, with different, personal needs and perspectives, that's not easy. The residents are wonderful, friendly and respectful. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. read more

The handle on the toilet broke. There was another toilet in the apartment, so I said there was no rush. Nonetheless, within 48 hours Frank arrived and fixed the problem in minutes. This is entirely consistent with my experience at Cronin's Landing. I've been impressed with the speed and efficiency with which repair and maintenance problems have been addressed in the ten months I've been living here. read more

Moving in and first impressions. The office staff was friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable. The floor plans they showed us were clean and well appointed with new appliances, washer and dryer and lots of windows. The apartment building is located on Monday st and borders the Charles river. It has a great outdoor common area as well as a WiFi room complete with private conference rooms and a ping pong table in the common area. I chose a room with a river view, Maloney (the Cronin's Landing staff person I worked with) spent time telling me that I am above a restaurant and may hear some live band noise on the patio in the summer. I appreciated the full disclosure. The move in process was easy with a low deposit. They locked an elevator for me during the time of my move. Having that elevator made the move very easy. I find the security very good but see sometimes that people let others in without asking if they are visiting or live there. Overall, I am very happy with the area, Moody st has many retail stores and places to eat, Taras Pizza is particularly good. I love the view from my appt and the neighbors seem friendly. read more

The living environment is good. And the attitude of the staff is comfortable and satisfying.

I have been living here for about one year. I did the virtual tour and it seemed too good to be true. The location is fantastic, the apartments are nice and right next to the river and around the corner from Moody street, which has great restaurants and shopping. However, the virtual tour was able to hide major flaws that have made my experience here miserable. The first is that the commuter rail train is right across the river, and goes by all hours of the day and night ringing a loud bell and blaring a horn. Not only does this make it impossible to sleep but also difficult to work from home if that is your situation. The other major issue is that secondhand smoke is pervasive. When I signed my lease there is a non-smoking addendum, which made me think this was a smoke-free place. Unfortunately my apartment has reeked of cigarette smoke (I do not smoke) since the first day I moved in. The source is mostly the vents in my bathroom, which are connected to other apartments. Some mornings it is so strong I can't brush my teeth in there without coughing and my eyes watering. Management is aware of the issue but has been unable to do anything about it. I was offered to move to another unit, but for a significantly higher price and they could not guarantee that a different unit wouldn't have the same issue. From talking with neighbors smoke is a problem in many units in the building. One more issue, which is not as big for me but may be for others, is that maintenance enters my apartment without my permission and without notifying me beforehand. This has happened several times in the past, once I actually caught them entering when I did not answer the door right away because I was getting dressed. They often leave on lights on when they do this. None of the above stopped Cronin's Landing from significantly raising my rent in my lease renewal. I wish I had known about these issues when I was first considering living here. I would have made a different choice. read more

I love living at Cronin's Landing. It's got so many things going for it, location, views of river and surrounding area, size of apartments to cost ratio, outdoor areas, great gym, close to train, access to restaurants and every shopping need, and of course the staff. Kayla and Melanie have been of great assistance to us from our first visit searching for an apartment to our move out planning. Kayla helped us understand all aspects of the lease and guided us through choosing an apartment and getting everything in order for an optimal move in. Both have always responded immediately to any inquiry we have had and have given us local information to help us enjoy living in this new area. Vadim has also been very responsive when ever we have had a maintenance request. Hate to leave but highly recommend this property. read more

Cronin's Landing is a great place to live if you want to enjoy the closeness to Boston paired with a quieter environment. You really can't beat the location - it's a 3 minute walk to the commuter rail station, the building is on Moody Street where all the restaurants are, and the Charles river is beautiful to look at, and there's a trail along it if you like to walk or run. There's also a kayak/paddleboard rental place right outside the building. I appreciate the 24/7 concierge service and the luxer package room that holds your ups/fedex deliveries. I appreciate that the building is quiet - I rarely hear other tenants and residents are generally friendly and respectful. The building is smoke-free, which is also nice. Sitting out on the deck overlooking the river almost makes you feel like you're on vacation! During COVID-19, staff has been extra vigilant in cleaning common areas and everyone is wearing masks. Melanie and Melissa from the leasing office have always been friendly, helpful and professional. Maintenance requests are taken care of immediately. I can definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, safe place close to Boston! read more

Living at Cronin's Landing has been great. The location is ideal for me (reducing an hour commute to under 20 minutes). The leasing office staff were excellent. Kayla, in particular, was extremely helpful and professional. This was probably the easiest move-in process I have ever experienced. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. I love living at Cronin's Landing! While not a bargain, my apartment is spacious and my floor plan is well thought out. The building offers everything you need, and nothing you don't. The staff in the leasing office is friendly and together with the service team, quickly takes care of service requests or concerns. Living here makes my life easier. The concierge service signs for my packages and assists 24 hours a day. I also love the covered parking, which means no scraping ice of my car in the winter! And although I don't face the Charles River, I love sitting on my terrace, looking out at Moody Street, and seeing Boston in the distance. I have lived in so many different apartment and communities in my life that I can say Cronins Landing must be one of the best. I've lived here for almost two years and I'm very saddened that I must leave this place. This is a very large apartment building. It's a pet friendly building. Moving from California to the east I've noticed it's very hard to find apartments which allow dogs. There are also lots of students and professionals living here. It's walking distance from many restaurants and bars. Post office, bank, beauty salon and a dentist is right by it. What else impresses me about this building is that the management knows everyone. I'm usually remembered for being a loud mouth and having a different type of name, but I've noticed how other residents are known here. I chose to live here because of the concierge service they offered. I like having someone 24 hours a day available for peace of mind. My packages were always accepted by them, I would receive both a text and a email to inform me about my package. Mind you when I first moved in things were very different. There was a different person managing this place. For lots of reasons which was very well known to everyone here they changed the manager to a very classy lady, Melissa. Things completely changed from the day she took over. My emails of complaint were not only answered but taken care of too. The other good thing this building offered is their excellent maintenance service. Their head maintenance guy, Vadim, makes sure everything is done the right way. My apartment is on the top floor with a awesome view of Charles river, watching the swans and the boats in the summer will surly be missed. I highly recommend living here. Ask the leasing agent Melanie or other ones who will make sure you get the best deal. read more

The leasing staff acts like your best friend until you move out. I had to move out a month early than my lease due to relocating for work. I was informed via email I would receive a final statement, but never did, so I reached out to the leasing office several times via email and got no response. After about a month I get a collection letter and the amount due seemed excessive. I called the collection agency and tried to explain that I was unclear about the final amount, and that the leasing office was ignoring my requests for information. Instead of working with me, she starts yelling at me. I ended up having to block her phone number. I again emailed the leasing office and this time I was not as kind, telling them I would leave a negative review on Yelp if they didn't reply. Finally a couple weeks later I got the final statement......but because of the delay this has already affected my credit. It didn't have to end like this.....so unprofessional. And Melissa from Leasing could have cared less about ignoring me and never apologized. She was actually rude. Do your credit rating a favor and steer clear of this place. read more

Firstly, I would like to preface this with the fact that I do not reside at this property. I, in fact, was trying to discuss with a leasing agent the possibility of living here, but I have called twice and TWICE the people were flippant, rude, and didn't seem to understand how to properly handle a potential resident. When I called the first time, I was seeking an appointment to speak with an agent and view units. The young lady informed me that she could not make appointments and offered nothing else. I find that interesting as all of the other properties I had called gladly booked a time for me. She did not offer any leasing contact information or information about my needs. She seemed rather annoyed that I called. The second time I called was today. The young man answered and informed me that he was the front desk. I began to explain that I was relocating cross country and was seeking information regarding availability of units that would fit my price point and living needs. He CUTS me off to let me know he is merely the front desk and could not answer leasing information, He continues to inform me that all leasing agents are busy. He did not offer to take my information, take a message, or route me to an agent's voicemail so I could leave a message. I simply explained I would call back, and he seemed perfectly fine with that. I know Archstone has sold all of its properties to other management companies, so I understand that there is a transition period in which there will be hiccups, but this particular location is part of Equity Residential, which is the same management company who runs my current residency, and their lack of customer care or service is appalling. This property is not closed since I did speak with them today, but they might as well be because I can't imagine many people wanting to work with such a rude and unmotivated staff. read more

I just moved to Boston and have been living at Cronin's Landing for less than a week as part of a corporate rental. And I definitely recommend against choosing this place. Initially I was really excited to get my temporary accommodation here because I was planning to rent an apartment with them. On paper the complex is perfect - great location, good restaurants and apartments with a river view. But the management is terrible! Thank God I've found out how awful this place is without signing a lease. The issue is that I have never seen people less willing to help residents. Their standard reply to everything is "Sorry cant help" - maybe they should use it as their tagline on their website. The 1st day I arrived I was given a reserved parking spot in the garage. For the past 3 days someone is consistently occupying my spot. And every time I complain, the people manning the front desk say they can't do anything and I should find parking in their visitor spots. What's the point then of assigning spots? Apparently it's too much trouble to look up the resident (and I provided the license plate details as well), and issue a warning. I've seen the same attitude when I asked for help with using their printer to scan a page - "Sorry can't help". The woman didn't even try to help! Another issue with my apartment is that the windows do not shut properly - there's a continuos draught of cold air. I do't know if this problem is specific to my apartment. However after seeing the attitude of the people running this place, I wouldn't risk leasing here because I have no doubt that they will NOT take care of any problems. For the price they are charging you can do so much better! This is simply an over-priced and over-rated complex. read more

I hate this place. If you can find another place to live DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! The rent is extremely over rated. The apartments are not as nice as they look. The carpet is very easy to get dirty so they charge you a good amount of fees when you move out. One of the most important thing is that the leasing office people are TERRIBLE! They are very unprofessional, rude and do not seem to understand people's words. They are very bad at time management, if you wanna get your information please give them a month to prepare. The leasing office people def seem like very nice people but, when you really need them to get something done for you, do not raise your hope. It's like living in a dorm. Walls are paper thin and so are Windows. You'll hear people shouting in the streets, halls and parking lots all night long. Be careful if you're a normal person with a job. Water bill is exceptionally high and the concierge is worthless and clueless. read more

After living at CL for one year moving to a new condo less than a half mile from here. From the very first day the people that represent the property have truly been 5 Star. The few times we needed some maintenance or had a question about. An appliance the response wasn't same day, it was within a few hours. We were fortunate to have a small walkout balcony with a great river view. We used it every time the weather allowed. Once inside the apartment was pretty quiet (with the exception of a barking dog nearby. The blend of tenants we found to be across the board. Many elderly residents that seemed to form a nice little group often solving the political troubles of the world around coffee in the lobby. There are a fair amount of young families and a large number of foreign college and grad students. Most of the students are very wealthy based on the many top of the line cars in the garage below the building. We will definitely miss the beauty of underground parking, the balcony and the fantastic location of this place. My compliments to Bill Jackson Lisa. Jasmine Janet and Gilbert for being stellar in their service. As I write this i am sitting on said balcony enjoying a gorgeous sunny day. As much as I would like to give Cronin's a better rating, I just can't. I have been living in Cronin's now for a little less than a year and I have been dissapointed since day 1. From the outside, Cronins appears to be a beautiful, high end apartment complex in a great location in Downtown, Waltham. I was excited when signing my lease and thought it would be a great place to spend the first few years of my time in MA. I am a young professional and quite frankly don't mind the little things that some people complain about such as the noise, the occasional smell of cigarette smoke, or the high pitched dog bark. My complaints come in the form of Management decisions or lack there of. It's the little things that have made my stay at cronin's an unpleasant experience. We'll start out with the lack of maintenance on all communal "things" such as their neglect to clean virtually anything! The work out room is disgusting! Is it that difficult to have a maintenance person go in once a day and just clean the machines? And when a machine breaks, it sits broken for weeks at a time.. Is it that hard to get someone in to repair it the next day? Especially with the rent costs that the tenants pay? Next, I'll talk about the "Community" grills. If you think the workout room is gross, lift up a lid to one of these! Who in their right mind would actually cook food on them? I have never once since my time living here seen a facilities person out there scrubbing the grills and/or the utensils they provide. Is a little soap and water too difficult to do on a daily basis. One of the grill cords has been broken for half the summer.. Why can't you go out and buy a new one???? It's incredible. There's bird crap all over the covers, spider webs all over them, caked on food and screws loose on each part. GROSS Cronins. . Next, lets talk about this one time "Community" fee of $400. I would love to know what this money goes towards. Maybe a catered dinner for the residents, or a nice event on the river deck to bring the "community" together. Nope, nothing! Last but not least, is it that difficult for the conciergs to look up and say hello when you walk by? Anytime I walked up I felt I was interrupting their facebook chat or netflix movie or paragraph in their kindle. I know it can be slow at times, but act professional. All in all, as I said, it's the "little things" that Cronin's fails on, The simple everyday maintenance to their stuff, the things that justify paying the rent that they charge. I mean, if you want to waste your money and live in a poorly managed apartment complex, by all means, move to Cronins!! I can count on 17 hands the amount of maintenance issues (HVAC, water, etc.) that my apartment has had within the past 4 months. The leasing staff is unprofessional and rude, which is weird because the rent is very very high. I would have hoped for a "luxury" apartment to at least compensate the high rent with a competent working staff. Aside from that, the parking garage seldom works and I often find myself stranded at the gate entrance for over ten minutes trying to get in, then another ten minutes trying to squeeze into the abnormally tiny parking spots which Cronin's "provides" you. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Melanie and the entire team here at Cronin's Landing. I love my apartment and the team has worked with me to make sure that some particular needs are met. I believe Melanie in particular went above and beyond the call of duty. It is surely appreciated. But the whole team has been great. I am fortunate to have a lovely view of the river and enjoy the peace and solitude in the building. The building is quiet and neighbors kind and friendly. There is a concierge most of the time who has been helpful. Vadim also has been most helpful who heads up maintenance as well as members of his team. Melissa, the manager, has also done a great job. I consider myself very lucky to have stumbled onto this team, especially Melanie, and love living here. BTW, it is also close to the Waverly Oaks Athletic Club and the great Waltham restaurants. This might be the most apathetic management company, and I highly recommend avoiding them at all costs. Here are some examples: -The door on the Margarita's side was broken for months. When I asked the team when it would be fixed because I was tired of struggling to get into my home, one manager stated "I don't know. It could be days, a week, two weeks, I'm not sure." -The multitudes of mice resulted in us buying mouse traps. It became a regular routine to look at the mouse traps upon walking in to see if any were caught. When my roommate and I called maintenance to resolve the cracks from where the mice were coming from, they calmly stated "there is a problem with the structure that we are trying to address." By the time I moved out four months later, we had caught two more mice. -In the roundabout, you can get ticketed for parking on the left side of the roundabout, but not the right side. When I received a ticket, I asked security if Waltham has the right to ticket me for parking there. Her response: "Oh yeah you can't park over there because we don't technically own it. I've seen it happen before." Seriously? As a tenant, I felt pretty betrayed that the management did not have the courtesy to not alert their tenants that they may be illegally parking on the property. -After moving out, I received a call that the management did not receive my keys. I turned them in the day my lease ended, while my roommate turned them in the day after a prorated lease ended. I found out that they will charge us a prorated rate until they find my keys. Their error should not cost me money. Conclusion: The staff do not work very hard in making Cronin's feel like a home or accommodations for their tenants despite the high rent, and I would highly recommend against signing onto a lease here. read more
