My biggest gripe is the actual class itself with a ratio of 4 kids to 1 instructor. I knew this going in but had hoped it would be okay considering the limited number of options for nearby swim schools. But in actuality the ratio means that my child spends most of the class sitting on the side of the pool waiting for their turn instead of actually spending time in the water or swimming. There's been classes where I've seen the instructor talk to the kids while she's in the water half the time, more than actually swim with them. There's also been a few times where the teacher has ended the class early and gets everyone out of the pool like 5-6 minutes ahead of time so they can rinse off. Then the teacher talks to each parent about what they did in the water that day. So it's good to get feedback but it also takes out of their swim time. Some instructors keep the kids in the whole 30 minutes then go rinse off but most of them take them out of the water a few minutes early. The prior school we went to had a 2:1 ratio. If the instructor was swimming with one child, the other child would spend that time getting rings in the water and swimming back to put them in a basket, or practicing their kicks while holding on to the side of the pool or treading water, etc. They had the child do SOMETHING instead of just sitting there. It kept one child busy while the other one was learning and the ratio was small enough so that the instructor could keep an eye on both kids and safety was never compromised. The other school also had instructors or staff members who would walk around the pool, paying attention to each class ensuring it was still a safe environment so that no kid was struggling to swim or wander off in the pool. We moved so unfortunately had to leave that place. Overall aqua tots is a good place if you are looking for your child to get used to the basics. This review isn't meant to sound negative but just trying to be honest so that whoever reads this has realistic expectations. I'm not sure how much my kid is actually progressing but will update and possibly add more stars if I can see that the swim classes are helping.

The staff and teachers are nice and friendly. The establishment is clean. But there were three…read morethings that I didn't care for- Firstly, scheduling can be quite hit or miss. I often had to leave a message or email, which made communication delayed and sometimes frustrating. Secondly, I recorded portions of each lesson. And honestly- the last lesson (after two months of lessons) was exactly the same as the first. I had to ask for the teacher to challenge my daughter and to show her how to kick her legs, not just say "kick, kick, kick... good," when she didn't kick! I wish they had a progress card with set goals. They had "scripts" for each week... but there was zero progress. Thirdly, the commitment to an entire semester was our breaking point. You can do month to month, but it costs more. So it wasn't a bad experience... but it wasn't great. And for the tuition... I'd really like to see the teacher encouraging progress- not stay comfortable with stagnation.

Each child has his or her progress card that the instructor marks on, indicating certain goals that the teacher makes sure the student is progressing each lesson. This location had lessons in the morning and early afternoon, not just after school times, so we were able to get in a class that met our scheduling needs better AND was not with the after school crowd. And finally, you can cancel your lesson even a minute prior to the start time and receive a makeup lesson credit that you can use ANYtime! You don't have to wait for the "once a month on Fridays only" makeup lesson that I have had at other places. Aquatots Murphy is a keeper!

We LOVE Aqua-Tots! My daughter, Tosca, took swim lessons last summer and will finish this summer,…read more(hopefully!?!). That said, she made tremendous advancement by taking Fast Track lessons all summer last year, started level 3 and ended on level 7 by end of summer. The front desk was/is very accommodating when it comes to working around our schedules - we've had to make many changes with our schedule due to schooling/summer camps/vacation, etc. and they've always been very helpful. If I've had any questions or concerns, they have always been more than happy to address them, with graciousness and thoughtfulness. In the last two summers we have had many different instructors and they are all amazing and it truly is making our daughter a better all around swimmer.

I think the reason they are not taking care of the repairs is because it's operating at high capacity even in this condition. They don't need to spend money on repairs to get more business.
