I love the pool. Very nice locker rooms. Clean. Professional. Affordable. Family friendly.

1. They need to keep girls & women's dressing rooms safe! NO so-called trans individuals should be allowed in our private spaces! 2. When one fills out YMCA's membership CANCELLATION FORM, (which I did on site) they should be responsible enough to process the paperwork. (They didn't.) 3. When I was repeatedly charged (after my cancellation), and I called to discuss it with the manager she asked me if I had my copy since it appeared that her copy had fallen through the cracks. One could jump to assumptions as to connecting my complaint to their 'accidentally' losing my paperwork, but why bother! They're either wholesome & ethical or not! read more

Plenty of gym equipment and is very clean! Love using their pool and class schedule! Staff is very friendly and welcoming.

They ask you to make reservations on the Mind Body app for lap swim but do NOT enforce it and won't remove people when all lanes are full for that time period. Extremely limited lap swim times available and management refuses to address this issue. read more

If you want a top notch workout facility for the the entire family, this is it. We have loved being a part of the YMCA in Rockwall. There are many group classes to choose from and the instructors are great. The facility is kept very clean and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. read more

Best free weights and lifting gym I've ever found in a YMCA. I don't really socialize when I lift, but even so I've met tons of nice people! My children played multiple Y-sports, for all possible years. I enjoyed coaching. We also loved the Indian Princess & Indian Guide programs, although I hear these are combined now. Kids learn to swim here, and build friendships that last. Hidden YMCA secret: well over 20 years ago, our tribe buried a time-capsule on the property, and planted a pecan tree on too of it. The pecan tree has thrived and is now huge; right on the SE corner of the new free-weight area. Most current Y employees don't even know the secret history related to the time capsule! read more

Never thought about considering the "Y" when I was in California!! This facility is excellent though. Provides for all my workout needs and at a fair price! Current equipment for resistance training, just enough free weights for my needs without too much to keep the lunkheads away. Pool with instruction if needed! Spin class, yoga classes, bball court!! Also...not too crowded even during peak times. It's great!! read more

This was the best experience I've had with swimming lessons. My child did so well and learned great techniques. Her instructor was MaKenna, she was amazing, and showed great patience with my child. She came as a beginner swimmer but with the way the instructor taught the class she ended on level 4 within 2 weeks. I have already signed my child up for an additional 2 weeks and plan to come back every summer. Thanks YMCA at Rockwall. read more

This place is often overcrowded and equipment is broken and in disrepair. Treadmils have been broken for 6 months. They should offer refunds for the service they are delivering. read more

Will update once they reopen with the addition. Most disorganized organization I have ever seen. For years we have suffered through children's athletics where coaches are not given the information they need, uniforms arrive on the first game day, basketball games run hours behind, etc. etc. etc. their pool is nice, but they ask exorbitant fees for membership compared to what you get. We have agreed with other families to use the rise for our younger children to spare the frustration in the future. read more

This is a great place if you want to workout, play basketball, swim or play pickle ball. They have a huge Olympic swimming pool and they have a basketball quart and a big gym fit with squat racks, flat benches, treadmills etc. read more

Leaving two stars instead of one because I actually like the classes the YMCA has to offer. The reason i'm leaving a review at all is because of the lady at the front desk. This is the third time I have had a nasty encounter with this woman, and i've had enough. I took my friend here to get a quick workout in, I have a membership and I was expecting my friend to use the day pass. The lady at the front desk with the pulled back hair, was incredibly rude. Talked to us in a condescending manner, gave my friend a dirty look when she stated she didn't have her ID -I drove. I understand the skepticism, but there's no need in talking to anyone like that. Luckily she had her college student ID, but she barely accepted that and said a rude remark as well. Definitely won't be back, and definitely will not take anyone I know here. read more

This place is gorgeous since the completion of their renovation! It is bright and spacious with the latest in workout technology - a huge improvement (in every way) from the old workout facility. They also have seating and lounge areas if you just want to chill out after a long workout - or if you just want to be lazy. It's great to have this place in the Rockwall community! read more

Sadly, the quality of the Rockwall YMCA has plummeted in recent years. I have been a member of this YMCA for over 20 years, and I served on the Board of Directors for a period of time. My name and the names of all my family members are on the wall. My family was very involved in this organization. Apparently, they recently made a change in their dress code. My sister was wearing normal female workout shorts and a baggy t-shirt. She walked into the building, checked in, and walked away. As she was walking, the front desk workers (Kaycee and Sheree) said that they noticed that a butt cheek fell out of my sister's shorts. Then they told her that her shorts were too short because her butt cheeks are falling out of them and that she isn't allowed to work out at the YMCA in those clothes. First off, this was simply a lie. Her shorts are normal length. I've lived in 4 different cities and worked out at numerous gyms; my sister's shorts were maybe some of the longest that I've ever seen a college-aged girl working out in. It's absurd that they would say that to her. On top of that, my brother called the YMCA to ask about what happened. He spoke to Kaycee and she told him that my sister's butt cheeks were falling out of her shorts when she was squatting, and that she was "exposing the workout equipment to fluids." First, she was not squatting, she had not even started to work out. The entire story they told my brother was a lie. Also, what fluids? What could that possibly be referring to? Kind of gross, and very disrespectful. When I went up to the YMCA later, they even admitted (and changed their story) saying that she was walking away when they noticed the rogue butt cheek (which actually did not exist). Second, they denied ever telling my brother this story. Which also simply was just not true. What I think happened, was my sister (6'0 college athlete) was discriminated against for being a tall, athletic woman with long legs, and the front desk workers were both intimidated by her and upset that she was working out at the YMCA. It is absurd and it is wrong. We never received a single apology. Kaycee and Sheree handled the situation terribly and, frankly, they were both incredibly pompous and rude dealing with me and my family as we inquired as to why they were so disrespectful to my sister. The YMCA has lost my business. To anyone reading this, I would suggest getting a membership at 24-Hour or Planet Fitness if you are interested in getting a gym membership in the Rockwall area, but you don't want to be judged for wearing shorts that end above the knee. read more

Five out of five stars across the board for service, cleanliness, atmosphere, and equipment. Rudy, Joe, and Andrew at the front desk are just the BEST at exemplifying what phenomenal customer service is. The group class instructors are so motivating! Child watch is filled with caring, sweet young ladies-- my children RUN (not walk) into the play area and parent's night out (even my one year old!). Everything is always clean! clean! clean! and in working condition. We have also taken advantage of their day camp program for my 6 year old this year, and have been pleased with the curriculum. Yes, I'm more than a fan. This place has become a part of what keeps our family sane. read more

Worth every penny. A great clean facility, nice people, new equipment which is cleaned several times daily by staff (when clients don't do it). There are busy times so you need to learn when it is less busy depending on your equipment needs. Voted the best yoga in Rockwall. I swim often and have never found lifeguards rude as another person said. Highly recommend for all ages and physical ability. read more
