I looked on google for a dentist that would be open on a Saturday and saw that this place would open at 8am and was pretty close by. So at 8am, I called, explained what happened to Dave and he got me in at 11:30 that morning. Listen, I'm a self admitted dentist chicken, so I proceeded to panic. That was the longest 3 hour wait. This was the first time I went to a dentist after knee replacement and remembered I needed to take antibiotics before any dental work. I called back to tell them this and Dave assured me that they had the medication there and would give it to me when I arrived. It was a very nice clean office. Receptionist was very friendly and saw it was noted I needed antibiotics so she went and got them for me. A few minutes later she came out with a bottle of water and a bag of graham crackers so I could get something in my stomach so the medication wouldn't make me sick. Nice touch. A short time later I was called back for X-rays then brought to my room. Unfortunately my tooth had broken below the gum line so it couldn't be saved. It had to be pulled. Oh Lord NO!! The dental assistant (wish I remembered her name) was very nice and explained things to me very well. She was quite the saleswoman too, which I don't like. I'm retired, on a fixed income with no dental insurance. Don't talk to me about implants and bridges! I had Dr. Avril, who is not a regular in this practice. He was very nice, tried the implant and bridge sale, didn't work. Finally time to pull. He injected me a couple times to numb the area, then came back maybe a 1/2 hr or more later and injected me again. More waiting, Then it was go time. It took him so long to pull that tooth I didn't think he'd ever get it out of my mouth. I know he was being careful not to injure the teeth beside it. Finally, it came out and in the process knocked off the crown on the tooth beside it. No biggie, a little cement and it was back on. Done, yea!!! I would have given them five stars except that Dr. Avril didn't say a word to me after the tooth was pulled, no "I'm finished" no "goodbye" nothing. I really hate the selling part, no good. And lastly, I had to call them back once home because I didn't know if the antibiotics they gave me was enough or if I needed more. Guess what? Three prescriptions were needed, antibiotics, steroids and a pain medication. Should have been taken care of while I was there. I am extremely grateful that they were able to see me and take care of my issue. Everyone was very nice. Dr. Avril did a great job and didn't hurt me. Keep this place in mind if you have an emergency. And, I am considering keeping them as my regular dentist!

I was there today, and I told the dentist that I hope that she outlives me because I never wanna have another Dentist.. don't get me wrong. She loves every patient, will talk and listen to you and you feel you are in good hands. Most importantly Dr Pojtek is so ethical. If your tooth can be saved with a filling which she makes much less money, she will save your tooth. Most dentist offices want to put a crown on every tooth, not Dr Pojtek. I was in some pain (5 out of 10) They said they could perform the work right away and sent in an attractive young lady who told me my portion would be $1415.10. I was thinking "I thought I had excellent insurance thru Delta, but maybe I was wrong" She kept pushing "pay the amount and you will be all set, your pain will be gone and the work will be complete" I felt like I was at a used car dealership, I'm in sales and recognized the sales techniques. Against my better judgement I had the work performed. The assistant Michael was very polite and caring, the dentist was nice, it was a tough extraction but she did it successfully. The next day, after the fog wore off I checked with Delta Dental Insurance and discovered MY INSURANCE WOULD COVER 80-90% OF THIS SERVICE.!!!! Also, the Delta Rep told me the maximum reasonable and customary allowance was around $770.00. THEY CHARGED ME DOUBLE.!!!! (They did give me a small discount $141.00) which I appreciated. How can a business do this to a customer???? How can they sleep at night treating people this way????? My primary dentist I go to in Riverview is SO awesome and ethical. New patient here and I have so many good things to say I could cry!…read more I admit, My dental history isn't the greatest and I now have a bunch of old dental work that is failing me years later. Dental procedures have always been on the back burner for me unless completely necessary. Today's initial overview of my dental health contained everything under the sun: Cavities, swollen gums, fillings that were cracked, bite issues, questionable bridge work...you get it. Basically a 4/10. I got X-rays and tons of "before" photos/scans with cool high tech equipment, Hygienist came in and did her thing as well. After the doctor reviewed everything, she gave me my options of highest priorities to take care of and what they could get done while I was there. Today I got a deep cleaning on my right side and afterwards got a TON of mini fires put out on my right upper teeth. It was a marathon appointment. They worked quick and although I was there for a few hours, they really fixed so many years of neglect. I couldn't be more grateful to them. I've already called friends and told them they need to switch to this dental office. I have never experienced better customer care in my life. The sweetest staff you can find and that is especially important when you have 'dental insecurities'. I have a few more appointments to go to get to that healthy smile, but I am so excited I found these guys and just trusted the good reviews. I thought all day about writing this for them because they truly deserve every good praise in my opinion. Side notes: The building is beautiful! BEWARE OF OVERCHARGING!…read more I strongly recommend that any patient here carefully compare every charge to their insurance EOB. Do not assume the billing is accurate without verifying it yourself! After personally reconciling the office's patient ledger to my insurance Explanation of Benefits, I found over $5k in billing discrepancies. Line by line, I found charges that exceeded the insurance-allowed amounts. For example, one visit was billed at $467, while the allowed amount was $251. These differences were not minor--they added up to a substantial overpayment! What's troubling is that these discrepancies were not identified or corrected by the office. I had to do the reconciliation myself and bring it to their attention. After submitting detailed documentation, including a very detailed and thorough spreadsheet, persistent follow ups and ultimately escalated to take legal action until I finally received a partial refund, well beyond the expected timeframe. Even now, the amount is not fully resolved, and $252 remains in dispute. When billing discrepancies of this size only come to light after a patient conducts their own detailed audit--and then require weeks of pressure to partially correct--it raises serious questions about billing accuracy and internal oversight. Also want to note that they require full payment for procedures up front and don't take in account estimated insurance proceeds. As a result, I ended up over paying by more than $10k! What makes this whole situation worse is that I used to really like this office, had a lot of trust and respect for them but the way I've been treated ever since I started questioning the charges has done a complete 180. They consistently made me feel like a burden and the "bad guy". They did not take accountability at all for the issue and continue to argue with me with no substantial back up. Regarding the actual dental work I received - when I went in to switch out my temporary crowns to the permanent ones (I got crowns on almost all my top teeth), I really didn't like them and weren't like the temporary ones I was wearing for a few weeks. I was almost in tears trying to advocate for myself before they permanently cemented them. They made me feel bad for sending them back, I'm so glad I got the courage to speak up and not accept something I did not like. Ultimately after the second visit, they ended up looking really good but after everything I've dealt with recently, I certainly won't be returning. Who knows how much they overcharged me since 2019 when I first started coming here! If you chose to go to this office, please make sure to pay close attention to your patient charges and the amount they submit to your dental insurance (they should match)! If they owe you a refund, Florida recently based a law that makes it unlawful for healthcare providers to hold onto amounts owed to patients for overpayments over 30 days.

They don't try to recommend a fake "deep clean" like the chains. They'll tell you if a cavity is minor and you can watch and wait for it to heal or whether it should get repaired. They are fast, friendly, efficient, and honest. They also play funny pet videos to distract you from the typical unpleasantness of the dentist. They offer early and late hours and Saturday hours. One time a family member got x-rays from a different dentist who said they needed a ton of fillings. We came here for the second opinion and they clarified only one was needed and they gave us their x-ray for free when insurance wouldn't cover it twice. I will never go anywhere else.
