    NRA HQ Shooting Range

Especially since the pistol and rifle ranges at my club are outdoors, it's convenient to come here when it's super windy or super rainy. You don't have to be an NRA member to shoot here, but you do get a discount. Also, there are no gun rentals at this range -- if you wanna shoot, bring your own firearms. They also have range rules on what ammo you can shoot, and they will check your ammo before they assign you a range. Thankfully, they have ammo for sale if your ammo isn't shootable at the range, and/or you forgot your ammo. If it's your first time coming to the range, you will be required to take a range safety test (if you're an average shooter with common sense, it's nearly impossible to fail unless you're intentionally trying to fail). Once you pass, you get a range card that you have to pay for, but once you buy it, you never have to pay again (unless you misplace it). Also, ladies: I recommend coming out on Thursday night! Not only do you get a discount on your range reservation, but you also get a free range card on your first visit! All in all, the NRA HQ range is great. As long as you follow the rules, it is not a bad place to shoot.

The entire staff genuinely helped look for it and treated the situation like it mattered to them too. What really amazed me was that a few days later, I actually received a follow-up phone call asking if I had found my wallet. That kind of customer service is almost unheard of these days. Sadly, true customer service feels lost nowadays, so when a company goes above and beyond like this, it deserves to be recognized. Thank you to everyone there for your kindness, professionalism, and willingness to help. It truly meant a lot.

Skeevy fast talking sales tactics reminencent of a back alley bazaars overseas becomes immediately apparent when you begin negotiations for precious metals. Owner refuses to accept payments via anything other than cash when purchasing gold. Rock bottom prices offered for what he called "junk gold" that was traded towards or sold but offers nice premiums over spot for items in inventory. Owner assisted in the removal of gems on jewelery prior to trade explaining they were not jewelers and damages may occur. The end result was twisted and mangled gold remnants and two broken/ cut half carat diamonds that were outright destroyed in the removal process. Upon seeing the mess now qualified as junk gold before me the pressures to end the transaction were priority. Pressure tactics attempted as a means to hurry purchase. Statements such as "I've sold 200 onces in the time this transaction has taken" were made and now recounting sends shivers up my spine. An utter and total missed opportunity for a repeat customer. Location: situated in the hustle and bustle of Vienna, accessing parking may be a slight issue during a visit however there may be openings in the rear of building. When leaving expect thick DMV traffic resulting in extended wait times and heightened risks of injury and accidents upon exiting.

They have a lot of members from all walks of life, from hunters to law enforcement, casual target shooters to dedicated competitors. Despite recent pressures from Maryland legislation, Berwyn's membership remains strong and may even be growing larger as one of the few venues people can use for their hobby or career. The range itself is set in the woods of rural Bowie. Admittedly, it looks more like a Boy Scouts camp than a major high-tech range, but that's part of its charm. They have three "no sky" ranges, meaning there are baffles set to block any stray bullets that do not head down the range. A 50 foot, a 50 yard, and a 100 yard allow people to use whatever they need for their chosen firearms. As an outdoor range, you can expect to deal with weather and climate as well as insect life. I always check the forecast before deciding to head out there. As a private range, this is not accessible to the general public. To gain access you must send an e-mail asking about membership. Within a month, you will know if you are approved to join (I've never known anyone to be turned down). After that, you have access to the range, but must remember to follow all range rules, including proper safety, avoiding damage to the range, and cleaning up after yourself. If you're into firearms, for anything from hunting to marksmanship, and looking for a good range in the Prince George's and Arundel area, then I recommend looking into this place. Go to their website and check them out!
