This is magic. Called for pick up 6 pm on a Sunday, came within 40 minutes, dropped off within 40 minutes of my call the next evening. Door to door service in our first floor walk up. Has anyone had items go missing? I've never had this problem with a laundry service. My set of 12 napkins has dwindled down to 4. I'm missing one of my favorite turtlenecks that I only wore once along with several body suits. I've received two uniqlo t shirts back that are neither mine or my partners, along with a few stray socks. In addition, I sent my brand new set of tencel sheets and pillow cases from west elm and they came back different colors and both different from the unwashed duvet cover. I've also had several items that I've had to throw away all together from god knows what?? They're not labeled delicate but they've come back with actual holes. It's embarrassing to be halfway through the work day and have someone point out a hole or rip in your clothes. My partner has been using this company for 3+ years and has had a lot of issues with sweaters (not through the wash, obviously), but limited issues with his other standard wash clothes. It is convenient having them pick up/deliver, but I don't think it's worth it to lose clothes or have things destroyed. read more

A couple friends spoke of delivery services being incredibly convenient and my searches led me to Waverly Wu Laundry! The whole process was incredibly easy -- I just called for pickup and someone arrived in a timely manner. Went out to do some errands, came home, and called them again for drop off. Clothes were clean, folded, and nothing was missing. Super stress-free, great customer service, and efficient which I absolutely love! I am very pleased with Waverly Wu Laundry and the service they provide. I have always been nervous about sending my laundry out, but when Clean Rite on Cambridge and Fulton closed, there weren't any close and good alternatives. A friend recommended this company and they have been great. I started first with sheets and towels as a test, which came back just fine. Then I tried other things that weren't delicate and that all came back just fine. And now I send everything. Prices are good, the minimum amount is 14 pounds. They are very fast, the next day. You call them and they come to pick up which is easy, and they deliver the next day. I send everything color sorted and they are careful with this. You can send more delicate things separately (in a mesh bag) to be done on a delicate cycle and drip dry though I have never done that (yet). They also fold everything beautifully. Amazingly. I never had the patience to fold freshly dried laundry so carefully that it emerges looking freshly ironed. It is more expensive than doing it in a laundromat myself but is really worth it. They also provide dry cleaning which they send out. I haven't tried that yet but will soon. Very important though is not to send very delicate items or very expensive items for them to wash in a machine. read more

I have been using Waverly for at least 6 years now. They are amazing and worth every penny. My clothes always come back clean (and scent-free! Am very sensitive to fragrance and I give them my free and clear detergent) and nicely folded. I've never had anything damaged or lost. The few times I thought I did lose an item, they addressed it immediately, even sending me video footage over text. Both times it turned out it was my fault and I never included the item in my laundry to begin with. Their turnaround is within a day and they now send text alerts when your laundry is ready. Pickups and delivery usually come within 30 mins, sometimes a little longer if during peak times. Can't recommend enough! read more

I have been using Waverly Wu regularly for about two years now. I just had another wash and fold drop off and thought my review was long overdue. They are professional, friendly, fast and convenient. The pick up and drop off windows are generous and if you ask, they can let you know exactly when your clothes will be done and can drop off upon completion (versus calling for drop off). I have had delicate items in my laundry bag (by accident- this is not a dry cleaner) and they still took good care and did not put them in the dryer. If you have a detergent you would like to use, they will use it. I don't think they know how to use the laundry boosters (like Purex crystals, which I use when I do my laundry myself) but for how neat and clean my sheets and clothes are when I get them, I don't care. I was in principle opposed to sending my laundry out for a long time, and reserved Waverly Wu for weeks when I was extra super busy. It seemed like a waste of money and kind of extravagant and a bit of an invasion of privacy, but after sending it out to Waverly Wu just a few times I'm definitely a convert. I was spending about $40/month at the laundromat, plus the cost of detergent and fabric softener, plus, obviously, 4 hours of my time dragging the clothes back and forth and folding everything. I probably spend $60/month at Waverly Wu. The extra $20 is absolutely worth the time and effort saved. The wait times can vary from 10 minutes to an hour, but they're always super nice and we've never had a problem with stains, shrinkage, or missing items. read more

Arbitrarily changing "self-service" hours, manager hates customers, but loves their $$$. Hey, Waverly Wu, you want to be FULL SERVICE, 7 days a week? Then make it so. Do NOT treat those who've been coming to this facility for YEARS, even before your new management, like they are scum because YOU decide to arbitrarily change self-service hours. The rapid decline of my experience here: 1. December 2014. Sunday before Xmas. Handwritten note on door says WW is closed for "self-service." I'm assuming that it's due to the busy holidays. I ask the asst. manager if the laundry will be open Monday. He says I can wash only early in the morning. 2. February 2015. I see no note on the door. I go in to investigate. The asst. manager says the laundry is closed for self-service. He says there's a note. It's not on the door. It's on the far left window, and I came in from the right. He says that he's told "everybody" that the laundry is closed for self-service on Sundays and Mondays. I said, "You didn't tell me!" Sunday has usually been my washing day; if not, I go sometime after work on the weekday eves when it's quiet. 3. March 2015. I come by on Wednesday evening. You guess it. Handwritten notes that say "no self-service." I've had enough. I ask the manager why it's closed to self service. He's says it's too busy. I tell him it's unfair to change the hours like that, and then I ask him if I can wash the half-load of laundry (one machine and 30 minutes in/out tops). Despite knowing me for years, and our being mutually respectful to each other previously, he undercuts me with MAJOR attitude. Seeing the uproar, his employees find a machine for me, and he goes along with it as if he'd doing ME favor! He cuts me off and refuses to hear me when I try to tell him he needs to make WW a full-time, full-service laundry! He wasn't empathetic AT ALL that I was a longtime customer, but said "thank you" to the full-service customer who came in to pay 4x the amount. The WW manager said he "didn't care" if I gave WW a bad review. So, WW manager, here it is! And I won't be using your business ever again or recommending it--full-service or otherwise. read more

I have tried nearly all the laundry pickup + delivery options that service fort greene. NONE are more reliable than waverly wu! They recognize my number when I call so all I need to say is "Pick up please!" then they send a guy to pickup within 20minutes, EVERY SINGLE TIME. The next day I can call when I am ready say "Delivery please", they charge my credit card on file, and they deliver within 20minutes EVERY SINGLE TIME. I hate the phone so I wish they had an app or I could text them but otherwise this is the perfect laundry service. Stop searching, call them, put a card on file, never do laundry again! read more

I can't say enough positive things about this laundromat. It's the best I've ever been to, and definitely the best in Clinton Hill. I'm new to Brooklyn, and I'm especially new to not having a car. And while I'm no stranger to public laundering, the thought of hauling my massive amount of dirty clothes to a hot, crowded laundromat was daunting, to say the least. When I finally mustered the ambition to do so, I was delightfully surprised. Waverly Wu is clean and cool, with multiple fans (and possibly air conditioning) to offset the dryers and 90 degree weather. I was there on a Friday afternoon, and it wasn't very crowded at all. The staff is super helpful and friendly, and gladly broke my $20 into smaller bills. (They also have a change machine on-site.) Pay attention, because this next part is important: it is SO CHEAP. I cannot stress this enough. I went there with about two weeks' worth of dirty laundry (I was moving. Cut me some slack.), and I spent less than $10. I managed to fit my laundry into only three washing machines (and trust me, I'm meticulous about color separation), for $2 a pop. The dryers are efficient and cost $.25/6 minutes, but it only took me about 24-30 minutes (or $1 to $1.25) to dry each load. And I had towels. So many towels. So we're talking a grand total of $3 to $3.25 per load, which is straight-up awesome. My friend who recommended Waverly Wu uses their delivery service. The pick-up and drop-off is free(!!!), and they'll wash your clothes for a set rate per pound. I'm not into other people washing my clothes, but this is a great option. The only downside is the hours. They open at 7 am, but they close at 8:30 pm, which is a little early for me. But let's be honest here: do you really want to be doing laundry after 9? Waverly Wu was a lifesource for me for almost 1.5 years. (I no longer need a laundromat since I have w/d in unit (don't hate)). HOWEVER, during my Clinton Hill brownstone walk-up years... where there was no laundry in the building - Waverly Wu's pick-up/drop-off laundry service was my bona fide splurge and necessary luxury. Worth. Every. Penny. Spouse and I would call, they would be at our door within minutes (sometimes too quickly) and would haul 2-3 bags of our laundry. Then, they would drop it off by 6 pm the next day! Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat. It was usually around $30-38 for every drop off (it's based on weight)... which was about 4-6 loads of laundry. I was a newlywed in that apartment (we moved in the week we got married)... and not having to do laundry at some crowded laundromat on weekends definitely assisted in creating the foundation for marital bliss. read more

I cannot stay enough great things about this place. I've been using Waverly Wu for regular wash and dry laundry services since August 2013. Someone always picks up my laundry within a half hour of me calling, and drops it off within a half hour of needing it. About half the time, I'll also send out my dry cleaning with them. I always put it in a bag separate from my usual fluff and fold things, and I just tell the person who picks it up that it's dry cleaning. On Monday, I asked to have my laundry dropped off, and I was so surprised to not have my dry cleaning, as well. I thought the person on the phone had forgotten to tell the delivery person. When I asked, the delivery person said that it had been washed and air dried. (I didn't even know they could do that.) Unfortunately, this absolutely ruined 3 pairs of my work pants and a work dress. I called Waverly Wu right away and spoke to Michael, who I believe is the owner. He offered to dry clean them for free, but getting them cleaner wouldn't help--they no longer fit! He had someone pick up my clothes and called me back, and was so, so kind in apologizing. He explained that the person who picked up my clothes didn't tell the folks back at the laundromat the directions. He asked for an estimate of how much it would cost to replace everything and offered to BRING me a check the next day. (My pants were easy to replace because they're the usual stock ones at Banana Republic. Won't be able to replace the exact dress, though.) Michael recommended putting a note in each bag with clear directions for next time. I cannot say enough amazing things about this laundromat and their amazing customer service. People often tell me woeful stories of having to deal with laundry, spinning horror-filled yarns of long hours, mundane folding, and lost socks. For me, the solution is simple: drop-off service. It only makes complete and absolute sense, and resolves almost any laundry-relative grievance one may have. Alas, many of my friends suffer from an irrational fear of others doing their laundry. The staff at Waverly Wu are more than capable of allaying any such fears. (I, personally, scoff at the notion that my unmentionables are "too special" for others to handle.) I sm so glad I decided to try this laundry service. They not only pick up and deliver, but they have same day service. I called and within a half an hour they picked up my laundry and returned it a couple of hours later. I had a queen comforter, heavy blanket Bedding , towels and clothes. The prices are very reasonable and when returned the laundry is folded, cleanly washed ( spots removed) and the fabric softener used smells greattt! As I have no machine, I will use them in lieu of trekking to the laundry to do wash. Instead of hours in a laundromat I was in the comfort of my home awaiting my laundry! Couldn't rate them highly enough! I moved to the city 6 weeks ago and had not yet done laundry. I read the reviews and called Waverly Wu. He picked up my clothes and carried them for me - 4 huge trash bags that contained clothes, bedding, towels, dog bed, etc. - washed, dried, folded and delivered - all within 24 hours. Turns out I had a whopping 77 POUNDS of laundry (I know, I know...) which would have taken me forever to do myself. He was kind, efficient, very prompt, and knew my name each time I called. I appreciate the simplicity of their delivery service. *dials Waverly Wu laundry's phone number "Hi Gina, pick up?" "Oh yeah, that'd be great." "Pick up from doorman or your floor?" [I'm still in bed] "Umm... my floor" "okay sure, bye" Anywhere from 10-30 minutes later, someone picks up my laundry from my door. Later that day... *Dials Waverly "Hello?" "Hi, can I get my laundry delivered?" "Okay, be there in 30." End scene. They have caller ID, they have your credit card on file, you get the receipt with your laundry bag, and your clothes are nicely folded/clean. Make sure you make the minimum of 10 (? might be less) lbs, because they have a base price of $1 per 1 pound. Super easy. I usually use them once every 6-8 weeks when I'm having a crazy week or I'm just plain ole lazy. If you have specific, complicated instructions, I wouldn't really rely on any NYC laundry service. I mean, look at their prices. They're not a concierge laundry extraordinaire, nor do they claim to be. I purposely only send in clothes that I don't mind shrinking a little from the dryer... it's usually inevitable whether you do it at home or not. read more

Most reviews here are for the drop off, which I've only done once, and it was fine. I tend to join the crew of locals and do my laundry. It is what it is, a laundromat. You come here to get your wash done, just don't expect any semblance of customer service. Any time I've interacted with staff their stoicism and short responses indicate that they probably wish all customers just dropped off their laundry. read more
