Service is horrible. Employees playing on their phones the entire time while our drinks were empty. Food not cooked.

Fun signage in the 'non-shop' waiting area. Food is as expected - lots of options for fun drinks and broad menu. Loved the many fish options. Our server was attentive, personable and knowledgeable. The one beer we actually wanted (which we later found out *was* available) was never offered to us. We ended up returning later that evening since we were staying at the hotel and didn't feel like going elsewhere--and things didn't improve. The bartender was clearly overwhelmed, but also very disengaged. He barely acknowledged us, avoided eye contact, and it took multiple attempts just to get his attention for drinks. It wasn't just us--service across the bar was extremely slow. Orders were taking a long time, and at one point a guest waited over two hours for a pizza because it was never entered until they reminded him. Someone else eventually stepped in to "help," but instead of improving things, she came across as rude and unhelpful--frequently deflecting customers back to the already overwhelmed bartender. For example, she refused to take drink orders or assist customers with open tabs, which only added to the confusion and delays. Overall, the staff seemed unhappy, disengaged, and like they didn't want to be there--which really showed in the level of service. Disappointing experience, especially for a place connected to a hotel where guests rely on convenience.

We returned after six years and had a wonderful experience. I'll admit the parking is a nightmare,…read morebut once we got inside, everything else was excellent. The service was spectacular. Even though the restaurant was packed, our server was attentive, checked on us frequently, and kept everything moving at just the right pace. As soon as we were ready for the next course, it arrived. We never had to wait long for anything. The food was outstanding. I ordered the Parmesan-crusted flounder, and it was cooked perfectly. The Parmesan crust was thin, delicate, and packed with flavor without overwhelming the fish. The flounder itself was tender, flaky, and cut effortlessly. The butter sauce was beautifully emulsified, with a rich buttery flavor and the perfect consistency. I also added a side salad, and I honestly thought they had brought me an entrée because it was so large. It was well worth the $5. It was loaded with toppings, generously dressed, and was an excellent salad in its own right. The red beans and rice were very good as well. They were well seasoned with a thick, flavorful sauce. It had become a little clumpy in a few spots, but the flavor more than made up for it. My only real disappointment was the wine list. The selection was quite limited, and most of the wines by the glass retail for under $10 a bottle, with even those being fairly basic choices. At around $8.50 per glass, the pricing is reasonable for a restaurant, but the quality of the wines doesn't quite justify ordering them. Overall, we had a great experience. Between the excellent service and delicious food, they've definitely won us over, and we'll be back again.

Imagine our surprise when we arrived and Bella told us they don't actually take reservations. Instead, the "reservation" simply keeps you from being at the very bottom of the waitlist. It's a "priority system" whatever that means. We still had to wait another 45 minutes past our reservation time before being seated. I feel like I am in the seinfield episode saying you know how to take a reservation you just don't know how to keep it. That felt incredibly misleading. If the restaurant already has a same-day waitlist feature on its website, why not just use that instead of calling it a reservation? That experience put a real damper on the evening. The food was good, but I can't get past what felt like a deceptive reservation system. The reason this review is 2 stars instead of 1 is our server, Mika. She was outstanding--polite, hardworking, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure we had a good experience once we were finally seated. It was some of the best customer service I've received in a long time. The only reason I would consider coming back is because of her.

This "surfer bar" is decorated exactly as you are imagining, right on the beach beside the pier. So, this place does have something going for it. Our server, Anna, was delightful, pleasant, attentive, and helpful. Our food was a mixed review however. As suggested, the gator bites were very good. They were lightly fried and not at all chewy or rubbery as can sometimes be the case. The accompanying dipping sauce was a nice compliment. The Caesar salad was fresh and the dressing tasty. The blackened grouper on top was good, but a bit too salty. The grouper taco bowl was tasty as well. The saltiness of the grouper was masked by the other flavorings in the bowl. The grilled grouper sandwich however, left nowhere for the over salted fish to hide. It was barely edible, and in fact needed copious amounts of ketchup to consume, even then my "clean the plate" husband left some behind. Two highlights of the experience though were the beginning and the end. The De-Stresser cocktail did as the name described. And we finished the meal with one of the largest pineapple Dole whips I've ever seen. It was delicious. So, a pretty mixed review for is on this visit. Hopefully, it was just an off lunch day.
