The rings were cooked perfectly, they bit clean and had big thick onions. They could have used a bit of salt though. The burger was very good. Tasted fresh and not greasy at all. This is the zesty chipotle chicken wrap. Tiny, over cooked and sitting around too long. The chicken tender was clearly dried out. They also upcharged me an extra 1.93 from medium to large drink because they didn't have medium cups in stock. Even after I said I didn't want the larger drink. That's not how things work. We ate inside so I would have been just fine with a small cup and a refill. Given that once I verified the upcharge and complained, a different person quickly refunded me the difference, I'll chalk it up to a training issue. Wayback burgers is a burger establishment located in Panama City beach Florida that me and my family stopped in for a late lunch just as we was beginning our family vacation Journey. Interior had a diner like atmosphere and was medium sized. The interior tables needing bussing something fierce but they did appear understaffed and very crowded. Outside of the tables being dirty the service here was very fast and friendly. They appeared to be doing the most they could with the staff they had. So I can respect that. Being a family of seven we sampled the menu rather well. From chicken tenders to Buffalo chicken sandwiches, chili cheese dogs, and a classic cheeseburger which I personally got. All the food was I'd say above average. One of those places that is t quite fast food but not exactly sit down service as it is counter ordered. So definitely better than fast food. My burger was fresh and had good flavor and my wife loved her bbq bacon burger. Said it was one of best burgers she has had. Overall a good experience with a tasty filling lunch. Wish it was a bit cleaner but I can understand circumstances can arise. read more

I don't understand how anyone can say Wayback burger is the best hamburger in Panama City Beach. I don't know what it's being compared to. This is far from being the best burger I have ever eaten. The burger is small so you have to buy the double or triple meat. Everthing is ala cart so fries & drink adds up. Two people can eat here for about $40. Save yourself some money and eat the "old timer burger" at chili's on there 3 for me menu for $12.99. I think they must be paying people for reviews. read more

We tried their burgers for the first time and they were great. We placed the order through their app, so we didn't have to wait in a long line and eat there. I ordered the spicy Buffalo chicken burger, and the cool thing about the app is that you can customize your burgers as you like. You can add toppings and sauces. I enjoyed the fried Buffalo chicken burger and my husband liked their grilled chicken one. Both burgers were fresh and tasted good. Since it was my first time ordering through their app, I didn't know that you had to order fries on the side. They don't come with the burgers although they should! Through some googling, my wife suggested Wayback Burgers, so we hit it. Ordering inside was easy (no drive through). The place wasn't TOO busy (well, it got busy after we showed up, which is fine by me). After ordering, we grabbed a chair and waited (ordered to-go). Lots of folks complain about food taking a long time, but hey - I'll take a freshly made burger over something sitting under a warmer ANY time. Eventually, our order showed up, and we headed out. The food was darn-near perfect. My "cheesy" was fantastic. I highly recommend it. It's simple (4 slices of cheese, two burgers), but clever (inverted toasted bun). Great burger flavor with a grilled-cheese vibe to it. Really amazing. The mac n' cheese bites were very good - I'd get those again. Tater tots? Also good (our serving was abnormally large, so we all shared). Everyone loved their food - except my son who ordered chicken tenders. Those weren't so great (5-star review otherwise). I'm late at updating this review, but I feel that it is needed. Used to stop here 2 or 3 times a year (my family vacations in Panama City beach). But I will never eat here again. Food is ok. But the staff was completely rude to my wife when she asked for mayonnaise. Dude behind the counter said that she had to pay for it but did so in a smart ass tone. So, a few words were exchanged. Instead of slapping his bitch ass & going back to prison, my family ate dry ass hamburgers and chicken nuggets. That was July of 2021. I'm sure that fuckwad doesn't work there anymore, but I'm not paying extra for sauce for a kids chicken nuggets meal or some mayonnaise on a cheeseburger. There is a Roadhouse about 100 feet away that is absolutely awesome. Go there. Only eat here if you want an overpriced dry ass hamburger. McDonald's is better tasting and that's not saying a whole lot. read more

It's a fast food joint with a dine in eating area. In a populated area for dining and shopping. We ordered the vegan burgers (which according to the website it's Impossible brand but according to the menu it's "veggie". Once it arrived it was clearly not an Impossible Burger and was a "thin veggie patty." They cook the burgers in the same grill as the meat so clearly it's not vegan either. There is one of these in my hometown of Birmingham, and I always wanted try it because the pictures I saw on Facebook ads looked great. I decided to make the drive down 98 from my condo on Thomas Dr to try this place because it had some good reviews. I was very underwhelmed. First, it was expensive. Their basic burger with fried pickles in lieu of Fries and a drink was over $18. I don't mind paying that for an excellent burger, but this fell WAY short. I watched as the lady making my burger plopped the patties on to the flat top to the sound of...nothing. No sizzle at all and no seasoning was added either. I was served very quickly. The outside of the bun was very cool and as soon as I took the first bite, the bun Began to crumble. It was clearly stale. On the first bite overly large chunks of onions came squirting out of the burger along with a few slices of pickles. It was loaded up with pickles and onions that were chopped way too large. The meat was tasteless with no color at all and the bun continued to crumble and fall apart. The fried pickles were at best very mediocre which says a lot since I absolutely love fried pickles. I only ate a few and tossed the rest. To top off the experience, my table napkin dispenser was crammed so full that you couldn't pull one out. I had to pull out a good dozen or more in a wad just to have one napkin. The entire experience for me was one that indicated a lack of attention to detail and perhaps inadequate training and supervision. Maybe It was just a bad day for them, but this isn't a place I would ever try again and if the problems I experienced are more widespread and persist, I doubt it will stay in business. Finally, their food went through me so quickly that I had to stop and run into the Publix to expel in mostly liquid fashion what I had just consumed. Way Back needs to get Way Better! read more
