worst experience I have ever encountered stored my boat…read morehere in September 2025 1st: I paid for a full detail $791.00 have to use their detail company or they charge 20% fee for you to get your own detail service, asked them to call me about half an hour before it was completed so I could come and inspect it before they stored it away. received a call informing me that it's all done and they were putting it back in place (storage rack) came the following Sunday to take my boat out and the detailing was not done properly, particulars of shells were in the floor, storage areas never clwaned, garbage still in the trash cans. terribly dirty. They said oh my goodness don't worry about it will get it recleaned. they did that thank God. 3 weeks later I take my boat out on Sunday return to the marina and che back in to have it cleaned up and put back on the storage rack, I get a call on Friday from the dock master (Che) asking me "what I was going to do with my boat? I said what do you mean, he said "it's been sitting in the water since Sunday" they had neglected to take it out of the water! they said "oh our mistake, we'll get the bottom cleaned up from it sitting in the water". I came back to the Marina to see if they had actually done this and guess what, another terrible job! they said oh sorry we're going to get it cleaned again! which they did luckily. last straw was a week later I came on Sunday to take it out, and theres dirty boot prints from the strain to the bow! Total disregard how they take care of your property. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND KEEPING YOUR BOAT HERE! Obviously management could care less how their employees treat your property

Can't blame them for what you didn't do. Any time I make a purchase for that amount of money I usually spend time on forums seeing what other people have done. It's best to learn from their mistakes instead of making your own. No type of dealership is perfect whether it's cars, boats or motorcycles and Boater's Landing is no different. You should always do your research and be on your guard when you deal with salesmen that work on commission... Here is a photo of my boat that I purchased from them. It is also a Key West 239FS but it has a 300hp on it. It will do between 50-55 mph depending on water conditions and load.

We purchased a 239fs powered by a Yamaha 200ph, if you call any other dealership they will refuse to ever take the boat on trade due to be WAY Underpowered. When I brought this to Billys attention, he told me "tuff shit I already purchased it" after that he asked me if I wanted to trade my boat back in so he can collect another percentage of commission. I could not believe this actually came out of a business owners mouth. After calling calling around to other key west dealers, I have found many others are treated the same. I would suggest asking around before pulling the trigger like I did. From out customer service to how

They gave me a written estimate for over $10,000 in parts plus labor. Are these people serious, or were they trained by Richard "I am not a crook" Nixon. They were condescending, rude, and pushy. They told me that the engine (with only 107 hours on it) was not worth saving and I should just have them put a new one on for $20,000 plus. I have never been treated as poorly as the Fishtale employees I met with. Dejected, I went to another dealership, Pier 41 Marine, where I was treated with respect, and honesty. Pier 41 quickly repaired the engine for a small fraction of what Fishtale was asking, and also informed me that the trim motor which Fishtale reported as leaking was in fact NOT LEAKING. If I could give Fishtale less than a one star review, I certainly would. They deserve a NEGATIVE TEN. These people would not know what honesty is if they fell over it. Incidentally, the tech who worked on my boat stole my gas filter wrench, at first he denied it, but when I insisted that we look in his tool bag, guess what? It was sitting there. He replied "oh, I must have accidentally put it in there?" It is not enough that the dealership rips you off, the Fishtale tech also tried helping himself to one of my tools, hoping I wouldn't notice. As Cher so famously said, "gypsies, tramps and thieves".

Our boat was damaged in IAN so i took it to Walkers for repair of Gelcoat, powdercoat and electronics connections. The repairs were supposedly completed 6 weeks later. I showed up late in the day to pick up the boat by water. The boat was absolutely filthy even though I was told it was washed. The electronics were not repaired, the powder coat repairs were further gouged and scuffed by the "cleaning" crew. I reached out to Kim the service manager with no replies. I then spoke with management who assured me they would come to my home for the repairs which never happened. I was forced to hire another company at my cost. Every time I talked to Tom, it was like I was bothering him. The response to it not selling -- its filthy and the market is no good. I even offered to pay to have it cleaned. He said if you do it on our lot -- we will up charge you even though we have no one to clean it. The only option is to to lower the price or remove it from our lot. They told me the engine (with only 107 hours on it was not worth fixing and pushed me to just replace it for over $20,000. Dejected, on my way home, I stopped into Pier 41 Marine, also in Ft. Myers. The general manager Mike Lueneburg, came out, gave me a hearty, friendly handshake and listened to my story. He could not have been more pleasant. He immediately did a compression check on the 200 Yamaha and told me that he felt it was not nearly as bad as Fishtale said. He treated me with respect, and dignity. As a retired high school guidance counselor with 37 years of experience, I am a good judge of character. Mike Lueneburg has honesty, character, and integrity in spades. If you are looking for a great deal on a beautiful pontoon boat, or if you need service on your existing boat, you cannot do better than Pier 41 Marine in Ft. Myers. In addition to being the general manager, Mike is also a highly competent marine tech. He got my Yamaha up and running quickly and efficiently for a fraction of the cost that Fishtale quoted. He also determined that the trim motor which Fishtale told me was leaking, was in fact not leaking. What a difference between the 2 dealerships. If you check Pier 41 reviews, you will find glowing reviews with all 5 star ratings. If I could give Mike Lueneburg and Pier 41 Marine higher than 5 stars, I would. THEY DESERVE IT. If you want an excellent dealership, that will treat you with respect, you can not do better than Pier 41 Marine. However if you like getting ripped off, and rude, condescending, pushy obnoxious people who will stress you until you blood pressure is off the charts, then Fishtale Boats is the place you want. So I go look at something else, come back, stand there close to where he is yammering and wait awhile AGAIN, still this guy is clueless. I go back up to the same Cashier I started with and wait 3 people deep to ask "Hey, is there another employee you could send back to Electronics to help me out?" And another Cashier (male with dark hair) jumps on the second register and I tell him the entire story and I ask if he can send someone Else to Electronics to help a sister out? He proceeds to ask me "Can I take the two people behind you?" I said, FORGET IT, IT SHOULDN'T BE THIS HARD TO GET HELP HERE. I walked out disgusted at the employees in this store. The first female cashier was great, she did her job, the man with the ponytail should be flipping FIRED for blowing off a customer that came back twice to get help while he was just shooting the shit with these 2 customers, they weren't even talking products. The second male cashier needs to learn DeEscalation strategies and you don't tell someone that has gone through what I did "Can I take the two people behind you?" NO, YOU HELP ME DUMBASS.
