I go every week because its an awesome place to ride horses. She's amazing, go try horse riding lessons and go have fun with friends. I have started since I was 10 now i'm 11 turning 12 in April 13. Shawna has amazing helpers who helps you if your a beginner and have never ridden horses in your whole life. She also cares about you so if you fall off she gives you a minute to breathe and get back on the horse. I find it super fun to go there after a long day of school because school can sometimes be stressful, hanging out and riding horses can cause stress to go away. Riding horses can be therapy when you're feeling anxious or stressed from anything. We were told they were not renting jet skis that day. That immediately didn't make sense. Before arriving, I had checked the website, which showed availability. We didn't argue or make a scene we simply accepted what we were told and booked for the following day. The interaction continued to bother me, so later that evening I called anonymously and asked whether they were renting jet skis that day. This time, I was told yes. So why were we told, face-to-face, that they weren't renting jet skis that day? As a Black customer, it's difficult not to question whether race played a role. I can't know what motivated the employee, but being told "no" in person, then receiving the opposite answer over the phone later that same day, while also seeing non-Black customers renting jet skis, left me feeling singled out. Whether this was poor customer service, dishonesty, or something more, it left a lasting impression. I hope no one else has the same experience.

Outdoorsy Yosemite Campsite was easy to locate even at night. It was about an hour and a half away…read morefrom Yosemite Valley so not too bad and the fact that it was so close to Bass Lake was great! So overall, the campsite was in a great location. Remote enough that it was peaceful but not isolated. Amenities we used which were bathrooms mainly were VERY well maintained and each lot had a faucet with water and an outlet as well as a bench. We noticed there was a laundromat, a park, a pool, and trash and recycle bins throughout the park. My only complaint was that it was all rock and that sucked for my back. We saw a mama bear and her cubs everyday and that was super cool.

Honestly looking around the campground I was surprised at how many people seemed to be living there for an extended amount of time. It felt like a small town in the middle of no where, where if you were just passing through...you weren't welcome. Very strange. Every RV was about 5 ft apart. I really wish I booked another place for my birthday. I gave 2 stars just for the showers. The picture shows the three piles of rock, and mulch just sitting there like I camped in rock quarry. I recently went here with a date, and we had a really fun time…read more When you first check in, you pay, and then sign a waiver. It was $30/person/hour. On top of that, he ordered a beer, and I ordered a bottled water. Our hostess was also named Jennifer, and she was super sweet. My date had already been here a few times, so he knew the ropes, but Jennifer still took a little extra time to show me how things worked. In the main room, there were about six targets, and most of them were pretty much spent, to be honest. They'd had so many axes thrown at them that it was becoming difficult for the axes to stick-- several of the targets were actually concaved. The two good targets were kind of far apart, which made it hard for my date and I to be next to each other. Another one of the targets was basically unusable because there was a kiddy practice target set up in front of it. Luckily, though, we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Each booth had several axes hanging on a metal strip, and we were encouraged to experiment with as many different blades as possible. I think we both tried them all. Eventually, we went out back, which turned out to be the nicer area. There were another six targets back there, and they were not quite as used up as the ones inside. The fairy lights around the barn theme was the perfect vibe for a first date. I personally didn't mind the pile of a hundred or so bicycles in the parking lot, but I did wonder-- why? I've been wanting to try axe throwing for a very long time, so I was happy to finally get the chance to do it. Once you throw the axe a few times, and realize that this is what you're literally going to do for an hour straight, it's a little less exciting. Now that I've tried it, I don't think I would need to try it again, but I had a lot of fun.

After spending a long day in…read moreYosemite Valley the previous day, I wanted to do some more hiking and found this trail less than 10 minutes away. I started at the trailhead near Corlieu Falls, went north towards Red Rock Falls. It was a beautiful hike with some varied terrain going slightly uphill for parts of it. The fall foliage was beautiful, and it was nice to hear the running water all along the way. There is occasional highway noise since this runs parallel to the main road, but I didn't mind it. Went at 730a and didn't see another person for about two hours. Red Rock Falls was peaceful and beautiful. I crossed the stream a bit clumsily and ended up with wet feet, but it was worth it for the photos. I made my way back. Corlieu Falls had a good amount of debris around it, including part of a bridge. Round trip was less than 4 miles, and I got back in time for brunch.

Unfortunately, we had two small kids with us in tow so we didn't make it too far on the trail but I hear there are some nice waterfalls as a visual treat if you finish the trail. There isn't a lot of parking available in the designated lot - we were lucky to grab a spot as someone was leaving right when we pulled up, otherwise I don't know where one would park to easily get to the trail head.

We stayed at the Best Western Plus st Oakhurst and caught the shuttle in the morning about a 10 minute walk away, that took us to the start line. We started timely and the course was beautiful. I would say the first 5 miles were the hardest because I did not train for trail running, but I wasn't trying to PR so I was just taking my time and enjoying the scenery. All in all, if you love location races, I would definitely recommend this race. The only thing I would have done different was to go to the expo a little later in the day. I arrived pretty much when they opened and some of the vendors were not set up yet. No food vendors were up and no smore's section was set up yet. I saw some of the vendors arriving as I was leaving.

Getting there: To get to the start line, we had to drive to…read moreYosemite High School and get shuttled to the start line, which took about an hour via shuttle. No, you are not able to drive to the start. Experience: This was my first half, or even race in general and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Our wave time was at 6:00 AM I believe and from our campsite as bass lake, we were 30 mins away from Yosemite High School, where shuttles take racers to the start line. The shuttles were over an hour late causing us to miss our start time. At first we thought this was going to be a big deal, but when we arrived to the start we realized it didn't matter. We were able to finish the race in about 3 hours and 30 minutes, beating the sweep time of 4 hours. Tips: - Get to the shuttles early. It takes an hour to get to the start and parking gets crazy at the high school. Plus, the shuttles were not on time.
