Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! Was here on vacation with my bf and his family. My bf's mom and sister kept raving about the beautiful candles here. My goodness, as a fellow candle lover myself...I didn't know what I would be stepping into when I came here. As soon as I stepped in here, I was almost instantaneously overwhelmed with the beauty of all the candles. Also, the space was pretty big and the sales people were also so sweet. They asked if we needed anything but weren't overbearing which was great. As I looked around....there was a candle crafted for almost ANYTHING you could think of. The amount of detail that goes into the creation of these gorgeous candles is absolutely unreal. I mean, they were so pretty, I don't even think I wouldn't want to light them for the mere fact that it would ruin them! Hmmm....another cool fact is that the store actually has a gigantic window where you can watch the candle makers create the candles in real time, it was super super cool! We ended up getting a beautiful candle as a lovely reminder of our family trip. Unfortunately, I can't speak for the prices because I don't remember them and our candle was gifted to us. While it was my first time in the shop, it definitely won't be my last. Such a fun, unique shop! read more

My husband recently had a USNA Company Reunion in Savannah. I worked with Sandy at W&B to get a dozen candles made for his classmates and have them delivered to our hotel (River Street Inn). From start to finish I had such a pleasant experience. I had been to their shop every time we would go to HHI and immediately thought of them to make a one of a kind gift to these heroic veterans. I asked Sandy if she could put the class year on the back side of the candle and this is what she came up with!! Needless to say all the men and their wives just gushed over this unique gift!! The candles were spectacular. There's a candle for everyone. The value I would say is really good. The candles burn for a long time, the art must have taken a lot of skill and you can continue to use the outside shell thingy with the art on it for tea lights when the candle is burned down inside and it'll glow . The owner was extremely nice and the vibe was amazing. Would give 6 stars if I could. read more

There are some very interesting designs at Wax & Beyond that you must check out. We definitely were window shopping and not looking to buy, but I had never seen candles like this before. It also takes them about 20-30 minutes to make them so you could probably come in with a design and I bet they would be more than happy to create it! read more

I love candles, whether they are Votivo, Diptyque or L'Artisan, they are all great. However, these are very unique and made right in their store, something that I have not seen before. If you like animals, sports, movies, whatever the case might be, they probably have it here. The owners of this store were extremely friendly. The prices of their custom circle candles are $19 for the medium sized and $24 for the large version. The wonderful thing about these candles is that you can reuse it, just place a tea candle in the middle. If you know anyone who loves candles, these would make a great gift idea. COOLEST PLACE EVER. Typically my husband and I would skip a candle store! BUT this is no Ordinary store, this is a little piece of heaven on earth. The talent the staff has is crazy! We bought a candle for out home and will be returning to purchase gifts for our parents, they are responsibly prices 22 for the large candles and can be used over and over again with tea lights! This is a candle store like I've never seen before. Being Hilton Head is a tourist destination for Americans(and others) from all over, they pretty much have every major sports team in the NCAA, NFL, NHL, MLB, and NBA. What to get that hard to buy sports fan for x-mas/b-day, then this is your place! These are almost candles that you don't want to burn though. They look absolutely stunning by themselves on a shelf or table. However, hold them up to the light and you'll get an even cooler look when they are lit. Prices are reasonable with candles ranging from $16-22. They actually didn't have my team when I visited, (the Indians), but I talked with the employee and they made me one so I could pick it up a few days later. Definitely coming back here! read more

This is a really neat destination in the tourist square of Hilton Head. They pretty much make one product, available in 2 sizes. They make these candle balls that look very nice on a mantle. They come in scores of colors and logos and when lit the logo or design illuminates. They work very well. This trip around we bought one for a friend back home who is a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan (as all St. Louisans are!) and we can't wait to give it to her. They make very fun gifts. We also bought one for ourselves several years ago with the UGA logo on it (Go Dawgs!). It has worked very well. Once the initial candle burns down (cut the wick short as it goes and make sure there is no draft so that it doesn't burn the sides) you can place little tea candles or an electric one to continue using it. They make designs of everything from sports teams to beach pictures to cartoon characters. They can even make some things for you per your request. One thing I would like to see is a few new products in the future. As of the date of this review expect roughly 23 for a medium or 18 for a small. I wouldn't bother with the small personally because I think they're too small but you decide. read more

This place is fantastic! They have a wide variety of candles and can make you one not already in the store within 24 hours. However, the reason we loved this store was because of the two young ladies which make the candles right in front of you. Great fun with a lot of energy!!!!!!! We bought a total of 6 candles - Washington Redskins; Washington Capitals; a penguin in an igloo; a crab in a sea surrounding; Motley Crue; and University of South Florida. read more
