I don't know if this is how you run business, but your stuff is extremely disrespectful and you wasted my time coming here thinking it was funny to laugh at me and I had asked a favor in order to try and get something from the general manager. people gave me the runaround I gave you two chances I came back once the guy was busy fine second time you're pulling my leg and thinking it's hysterical that I came back to try and promote something that I've been working on for a long time. I'm leaving this horrible review because you people have no reason to sit here and treat anybody the way I was just treated today I feel sorry for anyone that shops in your store. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but I don't appreciate the disrespect nice to know you people don't care about the customer and you'd rather make fun of them for trying to put themselves out there. Absolutely awful. Extremely rude staff. While it is expected their prices are higher than others hardware stores since they are on Hilton head, you would expect their staff to be helpful. They definitely are not! I tried to talk with the manager, but he just was not available - imagine that. Will never step foot in this store again and recommend you do not waste your time. Go to Lowe's, Home Depot or Ace and avoid the negativity of this staff. read more

We needed a small propane grill. The service was a bit unfriendly and snarky. I guess they struggle with visitors to HHI since HHI is a tourist destination. I expect more from a local store. Pricing was bit more than a big box but not unanticipated but we didn't have many options. Probably would go back if there weren't any other better options. read more

Every year I visit HHI I buy another of the high end hose nozzles they sell. It's the best hose spray nozzle I've ever used and they come in a variety of colors read more

I love Grayco for quick trips for pieces and parts and especially love their decor items. Theresa in the home section has a fabulous energy and efficiently helps direct you to what she has in stock or that you can order from catalogues for more items as well. She is super service oriented. Found some gorgeous lamps for our main bedroom and will be ordering gorgeous and surprisingly affordable living room chairs this week. read more

I went to Grayco today with my husband, he was looking for paint and I was looking for nightlights. I asked 2 people to direct me to the lights and neither could direct me. They would not walk me to the night lights and also made fun of me. I would never go to that store again, they don't treat the women customers the same as they treat men. Grayco is our go-to hardware store on the island. Unlike big-box retailers like Lowe's and The Home Depot, this is an independent, locally owned and operated hardware store. There's another location in Beaufort. Grayco reminds me of a larger Ace Hardware. The store is located inside what I think used to be a Publix. The place is big and there's a lot of staff on-hand to help you find what you're looking for. In my experience, customer service has been good. After having some flooring work completed at our condo, one of our armoires wasn't sitting right. We picked up some shims from this store (it cost about $3 for 6 plastic shims) and they did the trick. It's easy to find what you need and be in and out of the store in a matter of minutes. read more

An associate asked me how may I help you and when we told him what we were looking forward went asked the manager and came back to us with the answer as compared to the big box off island who tell you go ask this person but remember them for a survey of their customer service ... and only we were trying to buy a wheel barrow and find out how much it cost and buy it... grayco has stayed consistent to customer from its former smaller location on 278 to its current location of the former food lion.. no need to leave the island read more

We were updating and repainting our place, and being new to the area, decided to check out the local hardware store. Grayco has a lot of items available, from hardware to paint to decorative items for the home. Their prices are reasonable. What was hit or miss for, hence the three-stars, was the staff interactions. The first time I went to the store, one of the employees, Kevin, in the paint supplies area was the most proactive and helpful person of all the employees I saw in the store. He's the reason I purchased from Grayco. A couple of the other employees were polite, but not particularly helpful, and the rest ignored me. I went back a few more times, as this location is closer than Home Depot so it became a matter of convenience and not a matter of service. If it weren't for their location, I don't know that I would return. read more

I was on the island visiting friends when I needed to make a stop to pick up some hardware for a little project. The store is big, well lit, clean and roomy. The only negative was the staff chatting in a group of three talking about nothing in particular, pointing to the aisle where I could find the item I need but couldn't be bothered taking me there. read more

Last resort to spend money here, prices seem to be higher than Lowe's and the closing hours are like 5pm. At 6pm the 3 employees were all still in the front of the store and looked at me like I had 2 heads.... on a Friday night the close at 5pm Go to Lowe's or Home Depot In addition their truck(s) go thru the Cross Island Parkway without paying and I don't remember a license plate, but name on the truck was quite telling read more

Such a fun store with a variety of unique and interesting furniture. We've picked up several great pieces of furniture and art here that I haven't seen anywhere else. Great hardware store find. They have all the home improvement and hardware store items you would expect. They also have some home furnishing items such as couches, dining tables, outdoor furniture and other home décor pieces. I went in to see if I could get a new battery for a car key fob. This was not a major purchase, but two of their staff helped me get the correct battery installed. We will back for other needs. It is nice to patronize a local company rather than going to big blue or big orange for hardware. read more

Grayco Hilton Head is a large and convenient store. It's well stocked, too. Unfortunately the staff is often rude and unhelpful. I've dealt with some very helpful employees, but my bad experiences outweigh my good ones when it comes to the people working there. Grayco seems to leave it up to the individual employee to decide how to treat customers - not a winning formula. I consistently have a more positive experience at Ace Hardware, just a few miles up Wm Hilton Parkway. read more

I liked shopping locally and the have a full line of supplies. However, the staff was pretty rude. Also, I had to purchase an item for toilet repair. I brought in the old part and asked rep to help me with the selection. I bought the one we thought was correct. It was not. I brought it back that same day and they refused to refund or credit me with the cost. They claimed that the packaging was torn (they only way to open it) it was not resalable so they wouldn't accept it. read more
