I'm back again with a review the new Yadain location at Broad and Erie... and really they may have…read morea location newer than this. If not already, then I hear it's on the way. As much as I like the HQ Greene St. store, it's really a trip from where I'm at. And that's not to say that Broad and Erie isn't a trip too, but it's easier to get to. Aside from that it just makes sense that they have a shop here. It is an Islamic hub after all. But if I remember correctly, the purpose of these stores is to reach a broader clientele. So it's that time of year when my skin irritation becomes the story of the day til it's under control. This time around it was a losing battle until I paid Yadain a visit. Even my tried and true shea butter felt like it was doing me harm. I ran down my story to the staffer and she explained to me what she does for someone with a similar condition and her best advice was to switch from shea butter to oil. I've seen these essential oils plenty of times, but I've never purchased any for myself (although I have for others). For me, oil has always made things worse. Short on options I took a leap of faith and got their product "Skin Healer" ...100% pure sesame oil. I've got to say... the only reason I came back with such urgency is because I've been doing my own research. And I found out that we shouldn't put anything on our skin that we wouldn't otherwise put into our body. Knowing that and confirming with the staff, Yadain sesame oil DELIVERS. It's not a magic bullet, but I'm better off now than I was a couple of weeks ago and the season is really just getting started. It claims to have anti-itch properties and that's exactly what I needed. I was also given a tip about how to mix it with shea butter for a better result. Maybe I'll re-up on both on my next visit, but I just got the oil last time. There was also, something called "Skin Rejuvenator" ...I'm not sure how much different it is from what I have. So what about the store? It doesn't have as much as Greene Street, but it does have the core essential oils, fragrance oils, body washes/soaps, and shea butter. I hear they'll be adding more and more inventory over time (Himalayan pink salt for example). On my last visit to the Greene St. store in the summer I was told they'd be adding a few masculine scents to the shea butter line-up. Most of their new scents are feminine so I had to ask. PRO-TIP: For men, I recommend the following shea butter: brown sugar, vanilla, lemongrass, and oatmeal.

Everything went well so I booked my next three appointments with her. I had some unexpected guests show up for the holiday weekend and I debated cancelling this next appointment but she books out far and doesn't have great hours. So I showed up to my second appointment AFTER I confirmed two days before and received MULTIPLE reminders day-of. Doors are locked and lights were off. I waited around for 30 minutes and finally had to leave. Two hours later, I get a text that there was a family emergency and she would like to rebook and I haven't heard from her since. Again, don't waste your time.

In fact I was a "walk in" and when I inquired I was very professionally scheduled for the next opening that day ,1.5 hours later. There is plenty in Suburban Square to do for that time so I was excited of they accommodating me. When I arrived for my appointment I was nicely greeted. Additionally 2 other staff asked if I was being helped. Services: Eyebrow tinting AND Eyelash tinting. I was extremely happy with how she shaped and tinted my brows. Even happier was I in the eyelash tint which made me discover I still had lashes left and when tinted they seemed longer. Both services which totaled I believe, $60 were a phenomenal value. Not only did they open up my face as bright and more youthful as reported by many people, but they also lasted over 2 months. I already came in with a few products in mind, although I wasn't sure if they carried all of them. They had some and didn't have others, but that's totally fine. You can't have everything. The staff were SO kind. The manager was actually the one who helped me, and she was amazing. She was knowledgeable without being pushy and never tried to upsell me just for the sake of making a sale. She actually listened to what I was interested in and helped me figure out what made sense for me. The skin test was also really informative and made the whole experience feel more personalized. And apparently they're launching a new full-face skin analyzer! I've done so many of these overseas, so seeing one finally coming to the US makes me ridiculously happy. I can't wait for them to officially launch it. The store itself is super clean, organized, and has that classic Kiehl's aesthetic. They were also doing a collaboration with a local influencer who had little drinks and snacks available, which honestly made the whole thing feel like a vibe. Kiehl's has always given me those classy, upper-middle-class homemaker vibes , but the promotions and influencer events made the brand feel much more approachable. I've always been curious about Kiehl's, and this was such a fun way to finally get to know the products better. I adore this place.
