Worst burn I've ever gotten from an eyebrow waxing! First and last time at this place!!! On Wednesday, I went to get my eyebrows waxed. My regular lady had retired and I needed to find a new place. I decided on this place since it is close to my neighborhood and convenient. The girl was nice, friendly, and took me straight to the back. The vibe was great. I've had my eyebrows waxed many times over the years but this was my first time here. The tech seemed to know what she was doing and I liked the shape of my brows when she finished. I even made an appointment to do it again in 4 weeks. I'm very fair skinned and will often times turn red after a brow wax. I didn't think anything of it until the next day. I woke up to both eyebrows and surrounding skin red, swollen, and sore. I also had broken skin under one eyebrow. I iced them and tried to cover the redness with make up. As the day went on, it got worse. Eventually, I face-timed my friend who is a doctor for advice. She came over and declared that I had second degree burns on my eyebrows!!! She gave me a prescription burn cream. I've been using it for two days now along with ibuprofen and that has helped tremendously. I took these pictures on Friday night, two days after the eyebrow waxing. It is hard to see but the broken skin has scabbed over. The majority of the redness has faded and the swelling has gone down. Needless to say, I'm not going back and want to warn everyone, especially individuals who are new to waxing and those who may be looking to get their children's brows waxed. Don't go here. You will regret it and may never want to wax again. I have four daughters who get their brows waxed. They are adults now and have had the brows waxed many times. I know that if their first experience was as bad as mine was, they wouldn't ever want to get their brows waxed again. I know I don't. No more wax for me. I'm moving to threading. read more

Based on previous reviews, I scheduled a bikini wax, plus a brow tint and wax with Lily and the reviews did not steer me wrong!! She was super gentle, took her time on every process and made sure I was comfortable and happy with each step she took (specifically as she shaped and dyed my brows). Today I had an appointment at noon and I do apologize but my 10'month old twins have some virus. We're sent home from daycare Friday and have been throwing up all morning. I was in the tub with them for over an hour this morning trying to soothe them. One of their eyes is so swollen and has mucas coming out. Today I received a call from Maria who by far is the rudest individual I have ever dealt with.  I missed my appointment and I am sorry for that. Grooming myself was my last thought at 1130 when I am getting puked on by a screaming infant.  I have loved all esthetician's but Maria , the receptionist provided the  worst service. Not once did she ask if my kids were okay, as I whispered on the phone, my apology for not making it as I finally got my little one to sleep after a morning of throwing up. My daughter was in my arms at the time of the call.All she cared about was the cancel fee. And emphasized it several times. I want to make all the Frisco/Prosper area mothers aware of the lack of support waxing the city has for their clients. My 10 month old daughter can barely open her eye but they don't care. After being a patron of their business for over 2 years- I will never step foot in their facility again. If anyone can recommend a new waxing studio I would appreciate it. I booked my appointment online through their website and received a confirmation call shortly thereafter, which I appreciated. The booking was simple and fast. You'll see the non-discounted price as the total on the screen. You'll ask them if that's correct and they'll tell you no, but you'll see the correct amount on the NEXT screen. The reason they can't / won't fix the total on the tip screen is because they do the tip amount based on the non-discounted total so you'll tip more and not pay attention. 15% of $21 is more than 15% of $10.50. I found this rather shady. Also, at $21 for an eyebrow waxing, tip should be included. Peace, Love, and Wax is $20 for an eyebrow waxing and they don't accept tips. Check in was easy, I got there 10 mins early, she took me back a few minutes early. Asked me if I'd had a Brazilian before and if I had any questions (I didn't). Our session was done in a timely manner, almost painless (scale from 1-10 I'd say a few times it might have been a 3 at most for me). We had easy, non forced conversation the whole time. No pressure to buy product. I did rebook for 4 weeks and I'm seriously thinking of buying the Blackbook pass- but there was nooooo pressure for that either! I did receive 50% off my first service. One bad review was mad that the recommended tip was based off full price of the service- ummmmm you SHOULD leave gratuity based off the full rate- NOT the discounted price!!!! About 1 hour after leaving Waxing the City in Frisco I noticed the $65 Brazilian Wax treatment left a LOT of hair in various areas. New to the area and was looking for a new place to get waxed. I was a walk-in and they accommodated me. I've been getting waxed for years so I know the process. My old esthetician would have me in and out in 10-12 minutes max. This one took about 35-40 minutes. When I left I had chunks of wax left on my skin. The receptionist was unpleasant. Neither the receptionist nor the esthetician offered me aftercare instructions or products. As I said I've been waxing for years and I know the process, however being a new customer to this location, I would have cared about the extra detail to attention. And to top it off, I got multiple ingrown hairs which I have never gotten before. My hair tends to grow down so what I recall is she was pulling the wax opposite way of my hair growth. read more

Love this place! It was very clean, the workers were friendly and professional, and it was nice having some privacy in one of the rooms. The price is more than I'm used to, but you really get what you pay for here. I have naturally thick eyebrows but had to let them grow out since the last place I went to made them noticeably uneven. Matt was so great at looking at my eyebrow's natural shape, and not taking off too much! He took his time, and it showed in the results. I won't have to wear any extra brow pencil to make up for mistakes, because my eyebrows look perfect. And it didn't really hurt, so that was a nice surprise. My experience with this location was probably abnormal, so I'll aim for facts and not narrative: I called to make an appointment because I heard they had a program for models to assist with cerologists in training. I was able to get in the very next day. My cerologist was Jordan. I was scheduled for arms, legs, and Brazilian, so we were going to be in the room for a long time. Everyone was very friendly and I was offered water, which I didn't drink because I knew it would be a lengthy appointment. We did legs and arms first, then we got to the Brazilian. We started a little after 9am and it was around noon when we got the the Brazilian waxing. Unfortunately, we ran out of time. Another lady came in to assist in the process, but, that didn't really expedite anything and Jordan was told she had to stop doing my waxing service because her next appointment had arrived. I was left with a half-waxed Brazilian and I was scheduled to come back Tuesday to finish up. On Tuesday, I received a call that said Jordan wouldn't be my cerologist in the follow-up. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told that she was no longer with the company. I think the new cerologist was Lauren. She was also very nice. She completed the Brazilian and when I finished, I was offered an option for a 6-month package, which I declined because I'm not interested in that level of commitment for waxing services. Ultimately, here's what I've learned from years of getting waxed - the Brazilian that regular people get will NEVER leave you as hairless as the women in porn. I've had Brazilians from different companies in different cities because I travel a lot and I have not had one single treatment that didn't leave some grass on the field - some more than others - but, ultimately, I think that Waxing in the City did a pretty great job. Also, considering I had everything waxed from the waist down, for the most part, I was a little surprised that there is still some hair remaining on the back of my thighs, but definitely not enough to make a fuss over. Yes!! A location in Frisco! I'd been going to the location in University Park, but it was a haul from up here in the 'burbs. I was stoked when this one opened. It's always a little scary to try a new esthetician, but I've found that those I've tried at Waxing the City are all professional and trained well. Getting parts worked on that are normally covered up is a sensitive activity, to say the least, but Krystle made me comfortable right away. I'd highly recommend her (and not just because we share the same name). Glad this place is is Frisco. Far superior to other waxing places I've tried. Worth the money. read more

I was really hopeful about this place. Booked a Brazilian and brow wax. Brow wax was fine. The Brazilian was TERRIBLE! The esthetician said we were all done and left the room to allow me to get dressed, I look down and see numerous hairs!!!! Felt around and felt even more hairs! I gave WTC a try because I couldn't get in with my usual wax lady. I've been getting Brazilians for years!!!! The whole point is ZERO hair! I got dressed and stepped in the hallway and called her back and told her the issue. She apologized and said "those are the small hairs that the wax sometimes can't grab". I know how a Brazilian works, I went in with WAY MORE than enough hair to be waxed. I told her I've never had a Brazilian look like this at the end. Explained that my usual place has never done this. She then said the other place must have stronger wax. Then she said she could tweeze the hair. After 2 or 3, she started getting my skin. I told her to just stop. In 8 years of waxing I've never had an esthetician leave the room saying they're done and see what I saw. It was like a joke! For the amount of money you pay, you should receive the appropriate service. This makes me value Michayla at Sugar Coated that much more. Lesson learned. read more
