Had my last full Brazilian wax (and all my previous ones) with Ariel. She is by far one of the sweetest and professional cerologists I could ever have found. I requested her (many moons ago) based off of nothing but positive love for her among the community that gets waxed here locally. Every time I booked with her I enjoyed getting to know her as she worked her magic, doing her job as painless as possible, clearly certain areas can be sensitive but she did amazing as she helped keep my mind at easy and the whole mood just as positive as ever. Definitely recommend her for everyone possible. I will miss our monthly appts and our chats as I am in process of moving off island. I decided at the last minute to get my brows and upper lip done. This wonderful lady named Prophecy took great care of me. She was very gentle, pleasant, and soothing while caring for me. At other places my skin is left a little bit red from the waxing, but not here. Prophecy took great care of my skin. Appointment Sunday at 1:30 pm for my daughter. At 2:00 pm the cerologist expressed concern over redness under her eyebrows. It was red and irritated. Thinking it was possibly a minor reaction, she put on ointment before we left. We iced and medicated it but it started to get sore. Monday morning, it was definitely patches of skin removed. Called Waxing the City. Manager not in. Left message. Received a text message from the person I left a message with to email the manager. 50 hours after her appointment..... 31 hours since I've called...... NO Response. NO Apology. NOTHING. **picture is from this morning. TWO days after** Also, she's been here before. More than a few times without any incident. And I don't think I need to name the cerologist as mistakes happen however not returning my call in a timely manner is not a mistake any manager should make. Unfortunately my experience yesterday 1/9 was not great. I went in for a basic bikini wax and asked for a lil cleanup under my cheeks and was charged almost $80! A full Brazilian is less than what I paid for. Not only that but I have so much hair left on my bikini line that was not pulled out during the wax and have stubble that I'll have to either wait to grow out or pluck/shave myself now. The receptionist greeted me as soon as I walked in which comforted my nerves of going to a new location. The facility is definitely GORGEOUS, and pleasing to the eye with the decor. So....I had to call the day of my appointment to ask if I could come in earlier. The receptionist said I could but it would not be with the cerologist that I originally scheduled with. I don't even remember who I originally scheduled with because this would be my first time at this salon ( but not my first Brazilian ). I said that it would be fine & that I would go with whichever cerologist could do the earlier appointment. It turns out that the universe was in alignment with my wishes because my cerologist, Treece, is amazing ! Not gonna lie, I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the Yelp reviews about some of the cerologists (none were about Treece). Treece made me feel very welcome and she made me feel extremely comfortable, especially since I am very self-conscious about my body. She is very down-to-earth & actually reminds me of a friend I used to know. She is so easy to talk to / with. I almost feel like I could've known her from a past life. Anyway, the point is, Treece is excellent & I am very happy that she ended up being my cerologist for my Brazilian wax. I've only been to on other salon before for my Brazilians and I thought that it couldn't get better than the service I've received from that salon, but Treece proved me wrong. I've finally found my cerologist and in a place that has plentiful free parking is a great plus ! Also, surrounded by all these wonderful shops & eateries, who could ask for more ? I have been going to European Wax Center for years, but have been fed up with their high prices, inconsistent service and inflexible times due to overbooking. Then I found Waxing the City. I just had my first Brazillian wax appointment done this morning (12/27/23) with Treece. Ive been waxing for couple years and have always done it myself at home. I am currently 37weeks pregnant and have been waxing myself throughout my pregnancy up till this last minute, I thought ill give myself a slack and save me the trouble and you can probably imagine how hard it is to wax alone with huge tummy in the way LOL! Treece was nice, I wasnt uncomfortable with her at all but I am very very disappointed with the service I received. I came home and checked, there were still bunch of hairs left. And mind you these hairs are just on the top right there on the front, not on any critical or hidden areas and ofcourse there more in those areas too! I couldnt stand having small hairs left so I went ahead and redo it again, in front of mirror and exactly what I didnt want to do anymore and the reason why Ive decided to get it done outside. I cant believe there were so much hairs missed EVERYWHERE!! Is this just how Brazillian wax is done at the spa? It was kind of a waste of $67 if you ask me. Wish I just sucked it up did it all myself and save me the trip and money. The service was painful too. She drags the pulling of the wax which makes it more painful! Ouch! I guess this is my first and last and will just do my waxing myself moving forward. Photo below are just few of the wax strips. It took me atleast 45 mins to get ALL the hairs thats were left out. The reasons for the two stars is because of the following - Wax was super hot, it burned my skin - I was wondering why the area was burning when the aloe was put on. - Prices for services are overpriced 23.00 for eyebrow wax plus an additional 20+ for tinting? - Did an eyebrow tint, and the tint already has lightened, which I told the technician I like to tint my brows because it saves me time in the morning. UPDATE: All right, If you're a woman that deals with excess facial hair you know how embarrassing it can be and how important it is to find a waxing service that makes you feel comfortable. Well, I thought I found it here at Waxing the City in Kailua. The first time I visited Waxing the City it was a wonderful experience. KellyAnn is a doll. she is super quick and does an amazing job. Well I visited last week and had a totally different experience. I had Kyla. First thing I noticed was that she was in slippers. I didn't think she was going to be my cerologist since she looked like she was headed out the door and was talking to 2 other employees like she was clocked. So I get checked in early and am taken to the first room on the left. Kyla wasn't very talkative which is fine but after about 2 minutes I realized she wasn't being very polite either. I tried to make small talk and asked where she was from (Kona side of Hawaii island). That was pretty much the end of the conversation. Yeah, ok I understand some people need to concentrate on what they're doing so I was fine with it. Tell me why this girl had to fling every waxing stick she used over my head? Like throwing them down like she was upset she had to wax me. It was ridiculous. After waxing the same spots on my face 3 times each she asked if I shaved. I guess she didn't believe me cause all she said was that I needed to exfoliate and told me I was done. I still had a fair amount of hair on my face because she didn't do her job very well but I didn't care. I got up and went to pay. I felt like sh** walking out of that room. I still left her a tip because I felt too guilty to leave her nothing. I asked for the property management number and management looked at my crazy but gave it to me anyways. (nothing to do with waxing or the business) Was the wrong number but whatever. I did the email review and Jessica (management) emailed me apologizing and asking if she could possibly try to make it up to me. I was completely open to discussing the matter since I had better experiences here so I left her my number to contact me and waiting to cancel my membership. 5 days later and I have not heard from anyone. I am cancelling my membership and will look for somewhere that doesn't employ rude people like Kyla from Kona. If you are visiting this place I would suggest you ask for KellyAnn or Netty. read more

Was a great experience. Highly recommend. I got the male Brazilian wax. I seen the one bad review from Ariel and I went anyway hoping that she was not the one that I get. I highly recommend Treece!! I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND ARIEL! I did my first ever Brazilian wax with Treece in November, and she's amazing. She made me feel very comfortable. Unfortunately, she wasn't available in December, so I had to go to Ariel who did horrible. I was impressed that she did my Brazilian in 15 minutes, however, I was left with a lot of wax pieces still there and a lot of broken hairs; because of that, my hairs grew back quick. I have coworkers who also don't recommend Ariel for eyebrow waxing because she waxed her eyebrows too thin. read more

I've never had a wax before and decided to try this place for my first time off of a friend's recommendation. I opted to go for the full Brazilian. My roommate (a long time waxer) went with me to try out the new location also. Upon entry you're kindly greeted by the front desk. She let me know what to expect and answered all of my nervous first time questions. The facility was clean, and well maintained. The process was done in under 30 minutes and much less painful than I expected. My roommate stated that their wax (in her experience) was much less painful than places she'd gone to before. I've now gone for two other waxes and have had good experiences every time. Also, if you want to keep up regular maintenance I recommend their membership program. Their services come at a discount and are half off for new services if you try them. The only reason I gave them a 4 out of ten is because the first waxer I had was not very personable and missed certain areas. I went to Kellyann for my second wax and would highly recommend her. She's very thorough and held a good conversation that made the time go by fast! read more

Always love going for my monthly Brazilian. My usual technician Ariel does a great job! But this last time I had to go to another technician Kaitlyn, Ariel didn't have availability last minute. This last wax from Kaitlyn was by far my worst wax I've ever had (I have seen other technicians as well). She ran 20 minutes late, apologized for it and then said she needed to use the bathroom first. Mind you, I had timed this so I could get my child on time after school. Then she rips the wax strips soooo slow and no hair is really catching. So she continuously goes over the same areas.
