Super disappointed with the service I received and interaction with Mila. I had high hopes because the Yelp reviews were outstanding, but alas they were also misleading. This review is not to complain, simply to express my experience with Mila at the Face Lounge using a Groupon for a microdermabrasion treatment. Setting up the appointment was simple over the phone. When I had to cancel last minute due to work, she was understanding and flexible with rescheduling another appointment. The new location is in a residential area in Kaneohe. It's easy to miss, but gps does a fine job of getting you there. When I first met Mila she was pleasant, but seemed in a rush. Understandable as I was 5 minutes late due to not being able to find the house. I'll admit the setup in the bedroom upstairs was kind of odd...I felt weird being in a person's home. It wasn't very relaxing and the bed faced directly across a bright window that was pretty blinding as it didn't have any shades. I guess I'm just used to getting facial treatments in a spa-like environment. We started the microdermabrasion, it was my first time, she told me it would feel like sandpaper across my skin. I'd say my skin isn't that sensitive, it's more on the normal side - but wow, did it hurt in certain areas like under my eyes and cheeks...it started to burn by the third time she went over my face. Afterwards she began extractions on my face without steaming and opening my pores. That worried me. It also hurt like heck! She made a comment about how I didn't drink enough water thus dehydrating my skin and making it difficult for her because my skin "just wouldn't give". Hmm maybe it's because my pores aren't opened up?? Shame comment #1. Then she noticed bumps on my skin (milia), which I was conscious about to begin with. I have a about 5 little ones on my cheek. She said, "That's really bad, it's because of improper product usage. You're too young to have that you NEED to go to a dermatologist." Shame #2. At this point I just felt real crappy about my skin...about my face in general, which is so opposite from other experiences with previous facials I've gotten. I usually get comments about how good my skin looks! Then she put on a mask, it immediately started burning my whole face!! On fire!! She didn't believe me at first, but I was like, "This doesn't feel right is this supposed to feel like this?!" So with rough force she wiped it off with a wet rag and that HURT so badly. I was cringing with pain trying to keep quiet, not scream, and be polite. She proceeded with 2 more masks that also burned my face. Wow. Then of course ended with a shame #3 comment about how sensitive my skin was. In the end, I was rushed out because another client had arrived and I left feeling bummed out about the state of my skin with no solutions. Btw, the burning and redness on my face lasted for the next two days. read more

I realized this when the usual order of cleansing, exfoliation, steam therapy, extractions, peel, mask & hydration was slightly DIFFERENT, and folks there is a reason. I won't give away her trade secret, you'll have to experience it, or ask her yourself! I was looking to finally try microdermabrasion on my acne prone skin and I looked to groupon. I researched the places with Yelp and came across skinpure. I purchased the three pack microdermabrasion. Instantly, you are met with a genuinely friendly Mila who has the ability to instantly make you comfortable. My appointment included facial cleansing, warm towels that smelled wonderful, light extraction, microdermabrasion, a mask, and ended with a moisturizer sunscreen. It ran about 40-45 min and I wish I could have extended it. The procedure was relaxing and my skin feels so smooth and soft. I hope this really keeps my hormonal acne at bay. Will update review on the microdermabrasion but this first review is just on how awesome my experience was and how super warm and knowledgeable Mila is. Try her out. You won't regret it! read more

Amazing!!!! From the moment I went in for my facial I felt a sense of relaxation. The esthetician was very knowledgable, kind and caring of how I was feeling. She kept asking if I was okay and if I was comfortable. She answered all my questions and recommended some products to use. She didn't try to sell me at all though. The atmosphere is calm and almost serene. The prices are awesome good as well. I used to pay $150 at a different shop and now for the same thing, it's $99. Huge difference in price. Highly recommend this place for all your skin care needs. They also sell glymed plus. Huge fan of that product line and now a huge fan of this business! read more

I am so happy i get to know Mila. I was looking for microdermabrasion on groupon and im glad i found her. I got 3 sessions for a really good price, im not sure if she's still doing groupon but when you apply for a membership you'll get good price plus some products that you can try. She's very good on doing her job, i just finished my last session last Friday with her and everytime i go out of the spa i feel refreshed and very well informed. She wont push you on buying her products, she'll just let you know what you probably need for your face. I have been waxing with Mila for about a year now! She's the best! My first Brazilian, I was scared but she was really focused on making me feel comfortable. Pain isn't too bad but it gets easier every time. The method she uses is very effective and makes it as painless as possible for the customer.
