I just came here for my eyebrow wax, and I was really impressed with the speed and quality of the service services. I like that the facility was clean and it was easy to check in. You got to lay down on a table while your eyebrows were being waxed. I never had such a painless eyebrow wax before. When she first started, I literally didn't even realize she was actually waxing my eyebrows. The price is comparable to other places in the area and you get 20% off for your first visit. They do all types of other waxing services too. I did not feel like I was being pressured into completing other services, but I was made aware of what other services are available. I swear, she is the most patient person and actually CARES how your brows turn out. Sam had no problem adding more tint when I asked and was so precise with timing. I never rebook and always schedule on my own time, but since my eyebrows turned out so good, I immediately rebooked with her. My first intro to Waxing The City was in Kailua, Hawaii. I had some time to kill before meeting friends for dinner and noticed WTC. I was in desperate need and they good squeeze me in for a Brazilian and a brow wax. It was a great experience. I hadn't realized that Waxing the City was also in Wilmington- fairly close to my house. I made an appointment online and booked a Brazilian and Brow wax. My wax aesthetician Jamie was professional and friendly. The room was clean, with lots of product and some nice Wall graphics to look at while getting waxed. Jamie was fairly painless and quick. I felt like a new woman when I jumped off the table. I definitely will be back. The Barclay Pointe location is great- because there are a lot of restaurants, salon, Pilates studio and movie theater in the complex. Basically a one stop shop! read more

I was looking for a waxing place that wasn't going to break the bank because I was spoiled in Spain with their $20 Brazilian waxes. Rachel was my waxing lady and she did a really good job! I think her conversing with me and using pressure after each wax strip helped keep the pain minimal. She answered all my questions and was very helpful. I signed up for the monthly membership based of my initial meeting and underarm waxing with Jasmine. Her service promoted me schedule a repeat service as well as a new service...when it came time for my appointment, it was changed to someone else without my knowledge. So I had to reschedule....cool. No problem....until on the day of my appointment it was gonna have to be rescheduled because the esthetician wasn't gonna be there. I had to cancel my membership and will be searching for a place that values there customers time more. I can't say enough good things about Melanie, and my overall experience here. I'm basically a newbie, and decided to try a Brazilian after YEARS of talking about it. That being said, Melanie explained everything to me and set my mind at ease right away. We talked the entire time and she checked on me several times throughout the process to make sure I was ok and the wax wasn't too hot. I was extremely satisfied! I did, in fact, wonder why I had taken this long to try it out (something she said many of her clients said after getting through their first appointment). Not happy. My friend and I got Brazilians for the first time and although we are first timers we weren't born yesterday. They did a poor job at making us feel at ease and the waxing was not done correctly because there are SEVERAL patches of hair left and stubble all over. My waxer continuously attempted to wax when the wax didn't even fully cool down making it extremely more painful. I'm not an expert but It was apparent they didn't know what they were doing. read more

Super cute place! I was visiting Wilmington from Asheville and I needed somewhere to go quickly. I made my appointment at 11pm at night through their website. It was half off since it was my first time so I paid $27 for a full Brazilian. The person that did my wax was super friendly and open. I enjoy being talked to during the wax and she kept conversation the whole way through. She also starts from the outside and moves in. Another thing she was really good at was gripping the strip so it wasn't too painful then applying pressure. read more

First let me say, my careoligest was wonderful. My issue was with scheduling. I booked and confirmed a service only to be told upon arrival that they could only do some of my services, They had over booked and had someone coming in after me. I told them they other person could wait and they said that was not how they did business. So I guess the other customer was more important than me. They always mess up the scheduling but I brushed it off to growing pains but yesterday I had had enough. The front desk lady only made it worse. Very disappointing. I went in for my first Brazilian wax a while ago. I waited a little bit to leave this review to make sure my experience wasn't just because i'm not a Brazilian type of girl but since going somewhere new, I gladly get one every four weeks. This receptionists here have always been very kind and I was actually referred here to a friend who loved it and would only come for Samantha. ***However, I came in for my first wax and got Cynthia and unfortunately, had an absolutely horrific experience. *** It was unnecessarily painful due to her lack of technique and it being my first time, she made me feel extremely uncomfortable and basically mocked me for joking that it was painful and proceeded to walk to the waiting room, roll her eyes and say to my friend who was already finished and everyone else that I was being dramatic. Not to mention my wax turned out badly. I was super disappointed. I cannot speak for anyone else there but if this is your first time, save yourself the horror story and do not go to Candice!!! I usually would never leave a bad review as everybody has their days but Brazilians are pretty sensitive business in my book and I want to save some others the pain. read more
