The salon was very clean and decorated very nicely. I was somewhat pleased with my waxing. My eyebrows are somewhat unruly and the technician did nothing to shape them in a way that flatters my facial structure. As someone who feels getting waxed is like having a tooth pulled without novocain, I can honestly say Cara is THE BEST @ what she does! I'd follow her anywhere, even if it meant taking a flight! If you've never had a Brazilian don't depend on someone's answer about how painful it is, you wont know until you go! Depending on which areas of your body are most sensitive it may be easy as pie.....or you may find your maxing out @ a level 10 and would rather die than do it again! I find that if you've ever had a belly button piercing or side/ribcage/etc tattoo its a good way to judge your level of pain tolerance in the Brazilian waxing department (I can handle spine tattooing all day but the piercing & side tattoo made me cry for mercy). It also depends on your hair growth pattern, thickness, etc. Waxers expressed surprise that I'd continue having it done in the past, but we gotta be bikini ready & shaving bumps will not do! I was a loyal Beehive girl for years...but girls left, it got smaller, scheduling became difficult, and the last few experiences were painful & rushed so I started searching again. After a few so-so experiences a friend recommended Cara who used to work @ the beehive and is now just down the street! OH MY LORD-THIS GIRL IS HEAVEN SENT! I cannot express my shock & Awh at her ability and wish I'd found her YEARS ago. She puts every waxer I've had to shame! I've NEVER been able to comfortably have a convo during my Brazilians & sweat like crazy due to the pain. With Cara, I find myself not only chatting away without drenching my shirt but shocked when she tells me its time to flip (gotta get that tush)! SHE'S THAT GOOD! Is it painless? Of course not, but its as close as these things come! She's a master @ making quick work of a difficult & sensitive area with minimal discomfort (the key is her use of small patches to match the hair growth). Shes also a perfectionist that doesn't leave stragglers behind and is one of the sweetest & easy going people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting...you instantly feel like one of her best friends. I've never been so positive about a recommendation in my life! If your sensitive to waxing don't go anywhere else, I promise shes the best!! *If your like me: 1) Avoid caffeine the day of (yep- skip that AM coffee) 2) Take 800mg Ibuprofen 2 hrs before ur apt 3) 1 hour before- USE 5% Lidocaine NUMBING CREAM: *I use "General Numb"' or "Numb Master": Apply a thin coat & let it soak in. Then apply a 2nd coat & plastic wrap to allow it time to work its magic w/out drying up (yep... I just shared that VERY mortifying detail on yelp, but it makes a huge difference!) read more

Nicole is the best!! As I'm sure the other ladies are as well, but boy, am I happy I came here! I purchased a Groupon and admit I was a teensie bit skeptical but upon arrival, it was just so cute and they were so nice. I ended up having to actually come here twice since I didn't wait long enough the first time and really got to take in the store. They have coffee and mimosas on saturdays and also sell very cute clothes and accessories. Not to mention, my wax came out pretty near perfect. I ended up at Waxology on a whim while riding my bicycle. I was inquiring about waxing mostly for the face and was discussing different options with Savannah. I opted for dermaplaning. I've now had my second dermaplaning and I love it! It really has helped to keep my skin clear, exfoliated and I paired it up with a microderm and facial. You don't have to get those combinations you can just get dermaplaning and do it bi-weekly once a month you will love the results! Savannah is great! She's professional, sweet, personable and keeps up on all the different skin care products and techniques. Sometimes you'll go in there thinking you're going to get a certain facial but then when she analyzes your skin she tweaks it because she knows what your skin needs. She guides me about products to use for my regime at home. Of course we always talk about "Good old H2O" and how it's one of the best skin products out there! Waxology is now my go-to place. I am going to try the bikini waxing, as well as keep up with my dermaplaning and facials. when I went in to see Savannah my skin was hurting it was not in the best of shape also stress can do that but she's helped me to get my skin back too looking healthier! Waxology is also a very inviting, clean and comfortable place to go. As soon as you walk in you'll be greeted by somebody even if it's not who you have your appointment with. They have healthy snacks, water and a very relaxing vibe/waiting area. I would recommend this place to anyone even if you're just in Carlsbad for vacation and you want a quick wax, spray tan, and/or fwcial.
