This is a darling day spa in the heart of downtown Carlsbad. When I first walked by I didn't know they did skincare & waxing; I thought it was just a cute boutique...when some coworkers surprised me with a gift card, I was so excited! I booked a bikini wax and did not state a preference for the technician. Riley ended up doing my Brazilian and she was excellent! She talked to me throughout to distract me from the pain, but honestly it was not that painful. I was surprised that my skin was not super red afterward. She offered me a rosewater wipe to use prior the waxing and the treatment room was clean. She did a thorough job and used an oil by the brand Fur to finish, and I decided to purchase the travel rollerball, which totally helped eliminate any ingrown hairs or red bumps that were trying to come out. I kept using the rollerball for weeks after, and no ingrowns! I shopped around the boutique after my treatment and was astounded at the reasonable prices on the super cute clothes, jewelry, and other accessories and fun things in the shop. I left with a dress, a couple cute tops, a bracelet and earrings by Scout (love that brand), and a travel candle, plus the Fur rollerball. I believe the Brazilian bikini wax was $65, and I left a nice tip and walked away with fun new stuff without spending a ton over my gift card amount of $115. Side note--the toilet would not flush when I used their restroom, and let them know, so they shut it down for customer use while I was there. I think it's an older building and perhaps sensitive plumbing. This did not affect my experience in any way. Incredible spa and office! The space is beautifully designed, and they even have an adorable store with a great selection of clothes and spa items to purchase. It was just an OKAY experience. Maybe my expectations were set too high of what I was looking for. My experience was not personalized whatsoever and I just felt like another appt to check off of the list. I've had plenty of facials in the past and was really looking forward to finding a new place/esthetician to get them done regularly. I booked the 1hr 20 min luminous firm facial and the facial started about 4:57pm since she took me in a few mins early and it ended at 6:03pm... so I'm not quite sure why it ended early. I advised I hadn't had a facial in awhile and my skin was sensitive. Usually I'm provided info about what products will be used and ask about any trouble areas or concerns but that didn't happen. All I was told was that the micro would feel like a cat licking my face and the enzyme peel would be spicy. I left feeling like I just kept getting product slathered on my face and neck over and over and was never told what any of it was. She also never advised of any after care. The next day I woke up with a few acne spots which I don't ever get and a pretty serious rash covering my entire neck, chin and cheeks. I've had to use Benadryl and cold compresses to try and calm it down. read more

Really wanted to love this place based on others' reviews, but my experience was a disappointment. Had a Brazilian wax with Roz. It had been years since my last Brazilian, but I've had many before so know what to expect and this was NOT it. Before leaving, I noticed a decent sized patch of hairs left in one section, but figured I could take care of it at home since Roz had already left the treatment room. But once I got home and really took a look with a mirror I realized it was far more than just that one section. Multiple patches of hair were left over in obvious places. I showed my husband and he pointed out even more missed parts I couldn't see. I had gone 2+ weeks without shaving so the length wasn't an issue. Such a bizarre experience. Needless to say, I will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone. read more

Owner will not honor any Groupon service for anyone who has EVER had any prior service regardless of how long it's been or the type of service. On the Groupon it states they have no appointments for months for a spray tan but upon calling it's wide open. After scheduling for my preferred time Saturday at 5 pm I was informed the owner said they can't honor it. Can't or won't? They've lost me as a customer over just $25 and my family and friends. I have been a monthly member since 2014. I've seen several aestheticians over the years. There have been so many wonderful aestheticians who have worked here. I've seen just about everyone in the past 10 years. If you want an amazing facial, treatment, spray tan, or a pain-free wax, you NEED to book with Brittany S. or Cassidy! Brittany does the best extractions and complete facial massage. The facial massage is definitely my favorite, I can feel circulation being restored. I let her evaluate my skin, and she has always been spot on with what it needs at the time. My skin always feels so fresh after seeing her, and my whole face glows! I've had some facials that have had a short-term feel-good effect, but hers last! The dry patches and puffy areas have been completely eliminated by seeing her monthly. I hope she stays for the long term. She's such an amazing person and so gifted at what she does! Cassidy has the best way of waxing, which makes you feel completely at ease. She's super thorough and consistent. She listens to your preferences, and it makes the experience so much better. She gives extremely relaxing facials and very amazing treatments. I must like go for a Hydro dermabrasion and it includes cryotherapy; and I've had several different aestheticians & I have loved results every time I went... Hart is such a perfect name for this massage therapist (and more). she knows so many therapeutic modalities and is so attuned to your body and the connection between the body and trauma. it's the first time I felt such a deep comfort in years after down difficult times. she's like a healer--there's something so special to her and her talents. she's just so amazing and knew what to do and I was free of pain, so comforted , so safe. I would love to relive that 80 minutes and have thought about it since. she's a miracle worker, I don't know what else to say. I can't wait to refer veterans and clients I see as a veteran to her!
