The Sawhorse Cafe, Williamsport Pa…read more The breakfasts are pretty good, as is the coffee. I'd say a 5 or possibly 6 out of 10. The space is small and cramped, with an unfriendly "woke" vibe. I've gone there on and off for a few years hoping the vibe might change to be more welcoming, but It hasn't. The last time I was there, I brought my wife for a relaxing breakfast together. There was one table left. I put my phone on the table and got in line to order our food, so when the food comes up we aren't standing there holding our food trying to eat standing up. The two girls in line in front of us waiting to order did the same exact thing, as their 2 purses were on a table and were in front of me in line, as did another man that I know was in line with his hat on a table. However, they decided to humiliate and embarrass us, telling us to take our things off the table and order first before taking a table. Even though we've done it many times before and most people do. We unfortunately were their petty examples of the day. We got out of line and left and spent our money at another breakfast spot that is equally as good or better, without the stress, humiliation and woke attitudes. We will never be back to The Sawhorse Cafe in Williamsport Pa, and I will be sure to tell my circle of friends about my unpleasant experience so they can too decide if they want to eat there. Maybe with less people coming in, we can help your seating dilemma.

They were consistently bustling no matter the time, but thankfully there was ample seating with plenty of natural light. The adjacent room also had numerous outlets, which made it ideal for studying. There was only one person working during my visits, so the wait for my drinks stretched to nearly 30 minutes. The menu wasn't the largest, offering a small selection of dependable staples with a few seasonal additions. *Strawberry Matcha: deeply earthy with a splash of milk. Most of the sweetness comes from the macerated strawberries at the bottom. A very well executed matcha option. *Pumpkin Chai: the pumpkin added gentle sweet and savory notes that paired nicely with the spiced chai. The spices and sweetness were subtle and, thankfully, not overshadowed by the milk. That said, there was some mild separation after my slow sipping. Overall, this was a stellar spot to chat over well crafted drinks. The abundance of outlets was both helpful and convenient. However, they truly need more than one person behind the counter to improve the overall pace of service.

It was had more moisture in it which I liked, and the blueberry was fresh and you could definitely taste it in there. We also got a chocolate chip scone, which is similarly just as good I've ever seen like fruits more and for that reason, I like the blueberry more we also got the cappuccino and the chai latte with maple syrup. The chai latte with maple syrup had a good amount of flavors to it and spices which I personally really liked and the maple really added a nice sweetness to it. I also got it with almond milk, which is nice the cappuccino had a nice strong espresso flavor, which I personally enjoyed and I felt like it was very well balanced with the milk in there and I would definitely go there again I loved the ambience of the place. I felt like I could study there four hours and the drinks were very very good.

In addition to coffee and tea, they offer breakfast sandwiches and pastries, along with locally made goods such as flavored balsamic vinegar, customized Keurig pods, candles, and chocolates. The main area has standard tables, while comfortable couches and chairs are tucked away behind a vault door. They offer a regular menu as well as a monthly rotating board. *Egg, Cheese, and Sausage Sandwich: was served on an everything bagel. While nothing stood out as exceptional, the components were serviceable. The egg was slightly dry, and the sausage was salty and greasy. The bagel was fluffy, but the overall texture was quite soft throughout. A sauce would have added depth, spice, or acidity and improved the sandwich. *Sweater Weather Chai: was a seasonal blend of chai and hot cocoa. Although it leaned sweet due to the cocoa, the spiced chai still came through clearly. It was a comforting and rich drink with deep chocolate flavor. *Nutcracker Chai: another seasonal offering. The chai was once again fragrant and warming with subtle praline notes. However, it could have been served a bit hotter as it arrived slightly tepid. Bason Coffee Roasting offers great ambiance and consistently good chai. I would likely pick up a sandwich elsewhere nearby and stop here primarily for drinks.
