I want to start by saying that…read moreduring our time there I felt my son was cared for and received an adequate education for his age group. What really made me feel uneasy there was the lack of organization and cleanliness of the building. I never knew which class I'd be dropping my son off to or which class I'd be picking him up from. More often than not, I wouldn't be greeted at drop off and have to get the attention of teachers to tell me where to bring him. Same thing at drop off. It was very unwelcoming honestly. My son's classroom in particular was tiny! Even for toddlers it was cramped and there was lots of carry over noise from other classrooms. In regard to cleanliness, the building looked like it needed some deep cleaning-floors and walls in particular looked dirty, even where the infants crawl around. I had never seen windows open so it usually smelled like a diaper pail. In the parking lot, there were always parent car(s) that reeked of marijuana. Not sure how staff didn't notice. The location was super convenient for us but knew we wouldn't keep our son there long term. The issue that ended our time there was my son had had a bit of a biting problem as many toddlers do. It would come and go over those 5 months. We had talked about it with staff a few times. I was told that staff was able to prevent contact of the bite the majority of time. Still, I was very concerned. I was always on their side to figure it out and resolve it. Never argued, defended it, and was more than cooperative. I followed all of their recommendations, and even had expedited OT services to help that were going to start in the next week or two. Those last weeks, I was the one asking daily how he behaved, no one had mentioned any issues so I assumed all was well. Then I was totally blindsided: One day after drop off I received a message in the app asking if I had seen the email that was sent to me. I checked my email and saw a message from one of the lead staff that was short and easy to tell not a lot of thought or effort went into it. On top of that, the email was sent to me at 9:46pm on a week night! It basically said my son was being disenrolled because the *attempted* biting had not stopped. They said he could stay the rest of the week but he'd be sent home if he attempted to bite. So he hadn't actually hurt anyone and was safe enough to keep him a few more days but was being kicked out? Ok. We didn't send him back of course. Aside from the bonds my son now had to lose, I was not upset that he couldn't go there anymore, I was upset by how poorly the entire situation was addressed. There were absolutely no formal conversations, no warnings that termination was in the near future, I didn't even get the courtesy of a phone call! I was angry because a place that is supposed to care for children gave my child 0 chance knowing very well the OT services were starting soon. This was incredibly inconsiderate, unprofessional, and confirmed that this place would never be best for my son. A total disservice to him. Their decision was so abrupt, it seemed like there were ulterior motives, like they needed the spot or something. I knew this couldn't be ethical and definitely made me question how much this center could be trusted if they could pull the rug out on you so fast. My 2yo is now in another center that is immaculate, so well organized, large class rooms and outdoor play space, ALL the staff are friendly, and only a $2/week price difference. But the best part is my baby is flourishing! NO biting, more valuable learning, and he is always smiling in his pics! (he rarely ever smiled in his pics here) Makes me wonder just how well my baby was being treated at My Learning Tree after all. I can't say for sure that your kids won't get "good enough" care here, but I will say you would definitely be missing out on better. There has to be better than what was done to our family, most importantly, my child.

The owners, director, nurse and teachers are all kind and professional. The entire staff are attentive and friendly toward the children and each other (the best example for children.) Any and all concerns are addressed immediately. The building is spectacular and has a warm, inviting feeling. As we arrived each day, I would hear from the back seat: "there's my school!" Our little guy learned to work/play with friends, how to line up for outdoor time, bathroom/ hand-washing and how to listen quietly during story time, etc. Teachers constantly encourage kindness and the use of good manners. I really did appreciate the camera system they have in place, so that I could check on him from home during the first few days - no need to wonder if he was having a good day. Not once do they wash their hands, even before meals. So, from the minute they walk in to when they get picked up, their hands do not get washed. Children use the bathroom on their own with no one watching, no one helping. There are 2 toilets in one bathroom, and boys and girls can use it together at the same time. They go out to play in the playground 4 times a day which is of course not right, since their ages range from 3-5. Circle time lasts bout 15 minutes once or twice a day and the rest, their playing by themselves with blocks or toys. You child can fall and be all dirty, but the "teachers" do not change their clothes. You would think, since they have a camera, they would be aware of the parents constantly checking up on their kids, but no, these teachers do not care. Sanitary is a big issue with most parents , but this place does not think so. I will be filing a report with the licensing department because it is absolutely gross to think that my child is being left at a place where they allow children to eat with hands that have not been washed after going to the bathroom or being out in the playground. We sent our previous child here so we can be convenient, but I have learned my lesson.

Additionally, the staff is extremely communicative, caring, and thoughtful regarding the care of my infant. The space is always tidy and well taken care of. Lastly, they provide many special and fun activities for my child to participate in that is both helpful in assisting in him in achieving his developmental milestones and satiating his energy and curiosity.

We are so taken care of here, our feedback is frequently requested.  Any questions I've had, are answered within hours - day or night.  And I have to give Jamie, the Director, major props because not only is she cool, calm, and collected with great communication skills, but she's also fashionable, stunning, and super funny. In addition to the amazing employees and the beautiful and bright space, this is a quick list of what I love so much about A Child's University: *It is accredited - It is extremely difficult to achieve and maintain academic accreditation.  It shows in all levels of the education. Yes, even my 11 month old had a daily curriculum they follow including themes, art projects, science, math, and health/motor skills. *Daily art projects.  Yep, even in the baby room, they do art! *They exceed the state's teacher ratio standards by staffing more educators in each room than the state requires.  Full time educators have their degree. *It's clean.   *They play music entering and leaving the building, and in the baby room. *They use an app that sends push notifications so I know the minute my son goes down for a nap, has a wet diaper, and how much of his lunch he ate (or threw on the floor as the case may be). *They send several pictures daily and have a live stream camera. *They have a nurse on staff daily. *The staff is so loved, and in return they shower our babies with love.  It makes me smile to see all of the love notes and gifts that the teachers received.

You worry about whether your baby will like the caretaker...whether s/he will like them more than you...whether they will care for your baby as well as you could...and whether they will be kind enough to not tell you that they witnessed your baby's first word/crawl/gurgle/etc. If you're also in tune to the importance of early childhood education, you likely also want to know whether they follow the standards for care and that they are fostering your child's social, emotional, and educational learning and expanding your baby's gross motor skills. Whew. It's exhausting, thinking about all those things...and, as a new parent, I thought of all those and more when trying to decide where to enroll our daughter. A Child's University was seriously one of, if not the, best place we could imagine. Each and every day, she loves going to 'school'. I also love that she can grow there and maintain continuity, as the school goes up until Kindergarten. I have full confidence that she will develop mentally, socially, and emotionally under their watch. They do wonderful craft projects, even with the teensy babies, and every time I pick her up she is happily playing with the various toys or other children - always with one or more of the teachers sitting watchfully. All of this allows you, the parent, to feel good about the fact that your child is engaged all day long. And, while they do have a ton of rules and protocols to follow, I know all are done with safety in mind. The teachers are outstanding. I am not joking when I say that a primary concern of mine is whether they will be sensitive to the conflicting emotion caused by leaving your baby with another caretaker. For that kindness, and for the kindness they show to my daughter each and every day, they get an A+ in my book.
