Chiropractic & Therapy Center - Dr. Catherine Colaizzo

I'm a new patient of Catherine Colaizzo, DC…read more My initial evaluation was done on February 21st. I was at work and I was in such pain I cold called the office and they said come right on over. They did an initial exam, and they requested x-rays before treatment (always good to be cautious) and I went to University Radiology. My first treatment was done on February 22nd. She reviewed the X-Rays with me, and explained my condition in detail. I have a chronic issue with my neck caused by 40 years of working at computer terminals and monitors. I was a 7/10 with constant pain in my neck and upper left shoulder. (I had been taking 3 Aleve a day for the previous 7 days and was still 7/10 pain level.) As a side note, I have a very high pain threshold. I missed no work during this time. The pain would wake me in the night 3-4 times per night. She developed a course of treatment. I agreed that I needed the treatment and I wanted to start right away. Her assistant then came in and professionally explained the billing options and cost based on my insurance. There were no surprises, and by paying for the first 20 sessions up front I would get a discount. I needed the treatment, so I selected that option. My first adjustment was helpful. Dr. Colaizzo explained that it wouldn't offer immediate relief, but it would be process that would gradually lower my pain and increase my ability to function. After my second adjustment on 2/24 my pain level over the weekend would be between a 0/10 and as bad as 5/10 for brief periods. I stopped taking the Aleve on 2/27. After three treatments more that week (2/27/17) my pain level is generally low (0-4/10). I sleep through the night. Dr. Colaizzo is cordial, caring, and professional. The office is well run. The office staff is friendly. My appointments are usually on my lunch break, and the team respects my time, and I really appreciate that.

I can't praise Core And Spine enough. Many years ago I had an issue with walking, my legs went…read morenumb. After treatment I was walking and haven't stopped. so thankful!!! About 2 weeks ago I sprained/strained my neck. The pain was intense and incredible. I met with Dr Spano and he set me up on treatment plan. I met with Dr Faer explained my issue and he zeroed in on where I needed adjustment. After 3 visits the pain is nearly gone!!! With each visit Dr Faer has treated the painful neck with care and precision! I'm calling him Dr Magic Fingers!!! If you are living in pain - neck-back-legs wherever go to Core and Spine in Milltown!!! Dr Spano and his amazing staff will take great care of you!!!

Think twice before you go here. I had a terrible experience at this place. i went in for a muscle…read morespasm and had to stop after 2 sessions as they wanted to adjust my spine to correct my posture and it left me with so much more pain that i am still trying to recover from it 2 weeks into it. Dr. Spano comes across nice and caring but it looks like he's got his hands full and is taking on more patients without having the bandwidth for it. There's miscommunication going on between dr. and staff and they don't tell you details so you don't know when they are making mistakes. I caught one in my second session and they corrected it which is crazy that i had to watch out for what treatment is given to me. The facility setup itself is like walking in a fish market with tables in an open area and people getting care without any privacy and you are just directed by his staff to move around to get your next treatment. The staff expect you to call them and trying to do multiple things and handling multiple patients at the same time. Too much multi-tasking IMO for doing treatment and making someone feel better. I don't know how there are 5 star reviews on google for this place - its super misleading. Dr. Spano is good but he can't handle all patients and so when the care goes into the hands of his staff - you can expect things to get messed up and done to you without you really needing it. Before even analyzing any xrays - they started treatment for me. The treatment was not very clear and the PT and doctors in their practice just did the things without explaining what they are trying to do and why. Its also my mistake to not have asked more questions and i trusted the recommendation of the physiatrist i saw which was wrong.

This is for the Middletown office, but they're not listed on yelp and they wouldn't let me create a…read morenew business cause they're already established If I could give less than one star to Alliance Orthopedics, I would.I originally went to Alliance after the major snowstorm earlier this year when I injured my wrist shoveling heavy snow and ice. They took X-rays, told me I had a fracture, and sent me for an MRI at University Radiology after endless confusion and back-and-forth over scheduling mistakes. What I later discovered -- only after seeing a highly respected wrist surgeon for a second opinion because I was still in severe pain -- was unbelievable. The MRI disc they gave me was blank. Blank. Thankfully there was at least a written report. The specialist then informed me I never had a fracture in the first place and that Alliance had put the wrong cast on my arm. According to him, the cast actually caused further damage to my wrist and forearm. He also told me that if I had followed Alliance's recommendation and continued into their physical therapy program, I could have ended up with permanent damage or even been crippled. What frustrates me most is that this feels less like patient care and more like an assembly line operation: diagnosis, cast, physical therapy, repeat. A factory. They even contacted me after my first review and asked me to remove it, and because I try to be fair, I did. That was a mistake. At my recent six-week follow-up, my surgeon again confirmed the cast had significantly worsened my condition. I am right-handed and have now lost the normal use of my right hand, wrist, and forearm since the end of January. Cortisone shots have failed, and now surgery is potentially next. People rely on reviews to make important medical decisions. My friends asked why I removed my original review because they use Yelp and Google reviews to decide where to seek treatment. They were right. Patients deserve to know about experiences like this before trusting someone with their health.I sincerely hope no one else goes through what I did.
