Came in for an oil change. Process was simple. FYI parking is right in front of building. It was difficult to make out the parking at first, as the lot was filled. As soon as we walked in there was a line , decided to go to the Express line - only to be directed back towards the regular line. Mike was our service advisor and was helpful along the way. He provided good service. You also get a series of texts along the way with what maintenance needs to be done- you can accept or decline. When everything was done, I noticed my keys/keychain was very dirty. The mechanic had no regard with the handling of my keys/keychain. My keychain was in good condition prior to drop off and I couldn't clean the grease stains off. Customer service overall could be better. The attention did not feel warm or welcoming. read more

Where do I start?! This dealership has been absolutely phenomenal! I can't express how grateful I am to have encountered such a wonderful experience at Wayne Subaru with Sales Rep Greg. Greg understood everything we wanted along with bottom line price. With all the online homework I was able to do they even honored a competitors pricing just to ensure we shopped at their Subaru. The professional courtesy from all the staff members and the current regulations of COVID-19 made buying this vehicle a breeze. I completely felt like our voices were respected and heard at all times throughout the transaction. They even let us take our time to ensure this is the decision we were comfortable with. I have to say the time we saw the vehicle and by the time we were ready to purchase we were extremely happy with. That "sales pressure" wasn't there which I think is what made us feel very at home and comfortable. They were unwilling to complete the sale site unseen with me setting up shipping and doing a wire transfer. He said they could hold the car for 2 days, so I made arrangement with a friend who has a small plan to go see it (and take my whole saturday to do so). I double checked all the care info Friday night and a very similar deal popped up in an adjacent state. I called and they were happy to make the sale remotely and let me ship the care. I messaged David immediately so he could call on of the "3 other people who are interested in the car". Saturday morning, he replied with a rude and blaming email that I did not deserve. read more

I brought my daughters car in (2022 Imprezza with 24,000 miles) with a faulty transmission. They looked at the car called me and said it looks like your last oil change (which was over 2 months prior) done at a private garage took all the fluid out of your transmission so you will owe us $10,000 for a new one. My mechanic is a family friend and had done the oil change 2 months prior to this so there was no way he "thought it was the oil pan" and drained the transmission AND how did this inept service manager Jerry even get a number like $10,000. We picked up the car from this dealership who clearly had intent on price gauging us. We brought it to another Subaru service center and OF COURSE IT WAS A WARRENTY ITEM!! The car had 24,000 miles on it and it was a year old. I called for an appointment to only rotate the tires and told the rep that I would wait at the Service Center for the work to be done. I brought the car in for the rotation and one and half hours later went to the desk to ask how much longer it would take. I was told that my car would be next to be serviced, so I had to wait more than 2 hours for a simple service procedure. Yesterday I was driving on RT202 S and I hit a pot hole, my tire blew out, I was right near Wayne Subaru service location. I pulled into the lot and after a quick discussion with Mike, service manager, I was able to get my tire changes and the spare put on my Chevrolet Trax. I'm a convert from the Infiniti/Nissan brands, which are the only other cars I've ever owned or leased. A friend recently bought a Subaru and raved about it, so I decided to give it a shot. Wayne Subaru was my first (and as it turns out) only stop. Joan was my sales person. She was so knowledgable about what she was selling but she wasn't uncomfortably pushy. It was more like a good friend who's tried something great and wants you to try it too. It was the best test drive I've ever taken. The atmosphere at the dealership itself was great. From the minute I walked in, the receptionist greeted me and made me feel like I was welcome. It didn't take long to be put in touch with Joan, who took it from there. I had just come from another dealership (not Subaru) where the experience was exactly the opposite (I felt like they were doing me a favor by having a sales person talk with me, and this was NOT a luxury brand). I trusted this dealership for years. I bought my used Suburu there and went back for every repair and oil change. Recently my car started making noises like a jet engine. I had a part waiting for me to pick up and I called to see if they could also check the noise. They said they were busy, but to bring in the car. When picking it up they charged me for the part I'd ordered but said they heard nothing. I found out after having another mechanic check it that my wheel bearing was bad. Do you know what happens to a bad wheel bearing at 60 MPH? The wheel files off. They obviously did not drive the car or check it out. Would they do this to a "family" member, "Family" owned Wayne Suburu? I am complaining to them and also to Suburu America. They put my life in danger not wanting to deal with a repair that day. If they were that busy, they should have told me so and directed me elsewhere. That would have been the responsible thing to do. We've had nothing but positive experiences at Wayne Subaru. We bought an Outback from Joan Vaccaro four years ago and enjoy both the car and even the shopping experience. When it was time to get a new car we went straight back to Joan. She patiently let us test drive three different cars (Crosstrek, Forester, and Outback) while we figured out which we were most interested in. Joan helped us focus on the Forester. The dealership was straight forward about pricing which was appreciated. Other dealers, notably Paul Miller, played some games about pricing. We ended up getting our car from a different dealership, only because Wayne Subaru did not have the model/color we wanted easily available. Their price was competitive and we would have bought from them if they had the car. To top it off, Joan called a couple of weeks later to see if we were enjoying the car. I'd say that is pretty classy. I like the idea of buying from a smaller dealership. It is run like a family business. The service department has always been pleasant and helpful. As good as it gets. I can't reasonably think of an improvement to our purchase experience. I'm writing this review late because a car purchase is not a one time thing... you need a good bit of time to really evaluate the product with respect to the promises implied by the advertising and the discussion / sales pitch had at the time of the purchase. We are extremely happy with the car, the company, the dealer and the purchase process. We bought a brand new 2012 Outback there in May, 2012. The care has been excellent. The only thing that we saw that needed attention was a tiny pice of secondary rubber seal by the rear license plate. About 1 inch was a little out of place, that's it. Of course they fixed it in no time for no cost. We bought the all weather floor mats and use them exclusively, which makes the car easy to clean. .. and I like to keep mine clean. In fact I would do this with any new car. We traded in a vehicle that was not a subaru brand. They gave me the typical trade in value... nothing special but, they didn't give me a hard time eaither. Business there seems pretty straight forward. We had a sheet we brought with us similar to true car pre agreed price. They gave us a 2-3 hundred off that. The sales person (Dan?) was low key, no pressure, GAY FRIENDLY (but not gay), and come across as more informative than trying to guide the deal. We traded in a vehicle and paid cash for the balance so credit/qualifying wasn't an issue. The sales person took about 30 min, when the deal was complete, to sit in the car with us and teach us the features, give us personal opinions on using some of the options, and set up my cell phone with the hands free system. We've brought the car in for regular service (oil, check up, etc.) and they have always been very pleasant, cool and accommodating of our schedules. .. we asked to drop the car off, before they had time to service it, we went on vacation, and picked up the car after hours, when we got back, a week later. No problem. When we trade this in, in a few years, we I'll go back to them. PS... we went to Lynne Subaru initally, which is very close to our house.... good lord, are those some slimy mo-fo's! I wouldn't trust them at all. We really tried to use them.. a friend of my brother worked there and was new to the biz. We wanted to help him out thinking there wouldn't be a whole lot of difference between Subaru dealers. We tried but, his manager stepped in to help close the deal. I felt so dirty after talking to him... like I needed a shower. What a sleeze ball... and also it was easy to see through his act. My partner and I didn't even say anything to each other to check if we were both feeling the same thing... we just knew we did not want to do business there... and commented to each other only when we got in our car to compare notes. yuck. I was not in the market to buy but suddenly put in a "need car fast" situation. After 10 tireless days of research, phone calls, dealer visits, number crunching, meeting some shifty characters, my husband called Wayne Subaru where he'd purchased his Legacy and straight up said to someone "This is my situation. These are the numbers I'm working with. What can you do for me". In 5 minutes he received a call back from a salesman. He made it work, no questions asked, no hidden fees, no shady business. He got me in a brand new 2015 Crosstrek same day. Everything was black and white, straight to the point, simple math. This is my first Subaru and my husbands third. Prior to my most recent purchase at Wayne Subaru, I never purchased a car from a dealership before. Therefore, it was kind of a scary experience to start visiting dealers and shopping for cars. I had heard horror stories of salesmen lying just to get the deal. Luckily, Wayne Subaru is not like that at all. Out of all the car dealerships we visited, I really felt as if Wayne stood out as being different from the rest. The place is small and strikes me as a Mom and Pop type of car dealership, where the customer might actually matter - rather than just being a number. Nick Gigantes from the dealership was amazing to deal with. He is so kind and honest about the car. It really was a pleasure to sign the deal with him. We are leasing our car from Wayne Subaru and I wanted to share an incredible customer service experience I had. Couple of weeks ago my car wouldn't start due to some break switch alerts that didn't allow me to shift gears. I called in distress and the service reps were kind and helpful, helped me to get the car started remotely and then squeezed me in for service right away. I was expecting to drop the car off and get a rental, but instead they were able to fix it right away, while also doing my oil change and other maintenance tasks so I didnt have to come back again. I really don't know how else to rate my experience after buying a 2014 certified pre-owned (CPO) Outback with 42,500 miles from Wayne Subaru in Jan. 2018, and ten months later the transmission died in October, 2018. Had to have the vehicle towed from Summit, NJ to Open Road Subaru in Union, NJ where I was given a loaner and, fortunately, the Outback was still under warranty for another two years. But still, I needed a brand new transmission 10 months after I drove it off the Wayne Subaru lot, and I'd driven the vehicle perhaps 6,000-7,000 miles. And those were not hard miles. P.S. Subaru of America wasn't forthcoming or helpful either. All anyone wants to say is, "well, it's under warranty!" I thought I was buying a more reliable car, not a less reliable car. read more

Writing this review to warn everyone stay away from this dealership and the service department. 2nd oil change on my brand new 2019 Forester and they stripped my oil pan screw hole by over torqueing plug and lied to me and told me was a bad washer. Believed them, but they are so irresponsible and cheap that forgot to put oil fill cap back on. My stupid wife drove it for 18 miles parked it and pools of oil on my father in laws driveway. I came over opened the hood found the engine area and inside of hood covered in oil. They offered us loaner but I believe they destroyed the engine. Called subaru of North America and they just ignored me. This dealership should not be allowed to fix cars. I guess I have to let things play out for now but with that much pressure u know the engine is damaged never mind the detergents in the oil could damage other parts. read more

I leased two cars from Wayne Subaru and then went back last week to try to lease a third as my leasing is coming to an end soon. I met with Joan, who was my salesperson the previous two times as well. The dealership refused to negotiate on price and Joan told me they could no longer order any 2019 WRXs and that I'd never get a lower price than way they were offering. Well, I went to Ramsey Subaru two days later, got the lease payment I wanted (lower than my current payment) AND they ORDERED a car for me in the color I wanted. I also got a quote for same price from a south jersey dealership. Clearly Wayne Subaru did not care about trying to keep my business. They will never get my business again. I've never been to a dealership (and I've leased many cars) where they would not even negotiate after their first offer. read more

We've bought three cars from Wayne Subaru and each one was fully serviced there. I find it great that a small family owned, one brand off the beaten path dealership can survive. I always feel confident that we've purchased at all of the cars at a fair price and I've never had any issues with service. I choose to have the cars serviced there to support a local business. Chris in sales is very nice and just sticks to the facts about pricing. It's a very low pressure atmosphere. The team in service always takes care of us and if there are any issues, they keep going at it until it's fixed. I've referred a lot of people to them and I've yet to hear any complaints. read more

Recently I had a problem setting up the timer to charge up my EV Crosstrek. I had brought my car repeatedly to another dealership where they were not able to solve the problem. Subaru Customer Service recommended I bring my car to Wayne Subaru. Jerry in the service department, after careful research and actually charging the car himself over a few days was able to figure out what the issue was. The manual was difficult to figure out for a lay person like me. I am so happy with the level of customer service at Wayne Subaru and the expertise Gerry had to figure out the problem. He was willing to go above and beyond in working out a technical issue in the manual that was hard to figure out, even for another dealership. If I could rate this facility zero stars I would. They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced, and I will NEVER bring my vehicle here again nor will I buy from here again. I made an appointment for 10am on a Thursday to get my rear brakes and rotors replaced, and to change the battery in my remote start fob. I arrived at 940am and dropped my Forester off. The guy behind the counter, Tony asked me when I needed the job done by. I said the end of the day at the latest as I had to go to work early the next morning. He said 'Ok I'll tell them it needs to be done by 3pm.' Great I thought. That works even better with my schedule. Well at 254pm I received a call from Tony. He told me that they were just looking at my vehicle and that I did not need my brakes replaced, and that I had "some time" before they needed to be replaced. I asked what he meant by some time because I did not want to have to go back in a month, and be without my vehicle for another day, especially with winter and bad weather approaching. Tony informed me that I could "probably make it through winter" before they needed to be replaced. I told him that with bad weather approaching and the fact I drive over Skyline Drive about a dozen times a week, I would rather just get them replaced now. Tony then informed me that the issue with my remote start was probably internal and they needed to look at it. I informed him that I was sure the battery in the fob was dead because I had another fob at my house that worked just fine, and that this is the same thing that happened the last time the battery died. I asked Tony if my vehicle would be ready by the end of the day because I needed it the next morning. Tony told me it probably would. Fast forward to 5pm I get a call from a gentleman named Roy at Subaru. Roy told me that Tony had to leave early and he was calling me on his behalf. Roy asked me if it would be ok if they kept my vehicle until the next day to finish working on it. I told Roy that no it was not ok, but that if it wasn't finished I didn't really have a choice in the matter at that point did I? I also asked Roy what was the point in me making an appointment for 10am, dropping my vehicle off early, being told it would be done by 3pm, only to have them keep it overnight. Roy apologized for the inconvenience and said that it was unacceptable behavior. Roy told me he would see what he could do for me and that he would give me a call back. Well, not surprisingly I never got a phone call back. Fortunately I was able to borrow a car so I did not have to be late or miss work all together because of this place's incompetence. Well at 937am Friday morning, 24 hours after I dropped off my vehicle to be serviced, I received a phone call from Tony letting me know that my car was ready to be picked up whenever I wanted. I told him that was nice but I was now at work and had to make arrangements for someone else to pick up my vehicle since they couldn't get the job done in a day like they told me they would. This job should have only taken 2 hours at the absolute most. I don't know why they would tell me that it would be done by 3pm, when they clearly didn't even start looking at it until 245pm. That is such horrible business practice. There was no need for my vehicle to be there for 24 hours. I would rather traveler farther, to a different Subaru Service Center than to ever deal with these people again!!! read more

My car is 10 years old now and has had its fair share of repairs done over the years. At 115,000 it behaves like almost new. Hi Wayne Subaru, Here is my solid 3 stars: Positive: 1st star: location is very close to my home. Basically I can walk to shop. 2nd star: yeah, looks like I have new engine oil and filter replaced. 3rd star: reasonable price for parts I needed quickly (not the best prices, but I do not have time to visit other dealer to pickup best price for now). Negative: - 1st star: team is overloaded all the time (you are lucky if you have appointment in 3-4 weeks - even for simple repair or maintenance). I guess they have many-many-many customers? Owner, maybe it is time to hire few more professional mechanics - hah? - 2nd start: One more note (and this is funny) - Friday 11 AM - I noticed few people wearing Wayne Subaru uniform shirts are sleeping in their cars around the shop? What is it? Vacation time? Early lunch? I wait in line of 4 customers, team is sleeping around the building, only one service adviser is working with customers, over phone and mechanics. Other Service Adviser is on the second day on the job and do not know SOP (Standard Operation Procedures). I mean he is sending apologies and sorry, but I do not need apologies, I need knowledge and help. Suggestion - additional training required for entire team (with focus how to work together as a team and with the customer specifically). Sure, I have few complex questions, but I'll ask other dealer, not this team, not at this time. Few other minor things: no secure wifi. Owner, please install secure wifi (it is about $200 in total investment). Not many computers are working with public insecure wifi these days. I am driving a lot across few states for my customers and I see the picture in other dealerships. Wayne Subaru, please fix all issues, regroup and let me know... One more note after reading feedback from other customers- 5 stars feedback for sales department with down to 1 star for service. Looked around for dealerships in my area and found Paul Miller and Wayne Subaru both close by. Chose Wayne because it seemed like a mom and pop type place where a consumer might matter as opposed to a high volume conglomerate. Boy am I happy I did.
