I took my truck in because my engine light came on. They told me that the catalytic converter and…read moreoxygen sensors needed to be replaced. The original estimate was approximately $2900 and the final bill was higher($3070). I missed two days for work due to wrong parts, them not being able to get a bolt off. When I finally got my car back the engine light came on and my transmission was shot. The car never had prior transmission problems at all. When I sent them the info that using heat by the transmission can cause damage they dismissed it. I had to junk the car for $500. The worst car repair experience I ever had. I never took a car to get a major repair like this and had the car run much worse. I will never go back. Buyer beware with these guys.

This used to be Euro Tire which I used previously for various things with no issues. Unfortunately, what began as a simple service resulted in over $1,000 in damages and a complete lack of accountability. After picking up my car, I discovered the wheel bolts had been severely over-torqued. I returned within 30 min, and a technician confirmed they were stuck, stating he was "uncomfortable" proceeding at closing time. I took the car home and dropped it off the following morning as they said they will take care of it. The next day, multiple lug nuts were stuck which required drilling of the studs to remove them. The shop broke at least 4 lug nuts in half trying to remove them and the 2 wheels were stuck on the car. During the extraction process, the shop drilled through the wheel itself rather than just the studs. Put the wheel back on and said it was all done. I once again checked when I got home and discovered the wheel was drilled into and 2 of 5 lug nuts on one wheel were not holding. This rendered the wheel structurally compromised and unsafe for road use. Despite previously admitting the bolts were over-torqued, the management changed their story once they realized the extent of the damage. When I confronted them about the ruined wheel, they blamed me for the over-torquing--despite the fact that they were the last ones to touch the vehicle. While they refunded the initial labor cost, I am now out approximately $1,000 for a replacement wheel and hardware.

What a frustrating waste of time and money. Don't get me wrong- Martin and Maury were both kind and…read moretried to be understanding and helpful. Unfortunately, the attention to detail at both this and the Butler location is not sufficient. When a store screws up and damages your car or causes enormous inconveniences, some refund or retention effort should be made. I have had most of my major car service and repair done at Mavis for 5 years now. I emailed corporate about a frustrating experience at Butler- no answer. This time I made an appointment for 3 new tires (after a flat was recently replaced). I let them know when I called that I had a negative experience recently at their neighboring store in Butler. They said they'd be glad to service my vehicle and ensure it was done in a satisfactory manner. The first problem was that there was no thought to check inventory to see if they had the three matching tires I needed. So upon arrival for my appointment, I had to come back an hour and a half later, after they went to get the tires from a neighbor store. Frustrating, but not a big deal. The following day when I took my car on the highway, there was a noticeable wobble that felt unsafe. I was on my way to Long Island, so I stopped at the nearest location in Lodi to ensure the car was safe to drive. This slowed me down an hour. They let me know it was safe but after I did a visual check, I realized ONE OF THE TIRES WAS NOT A MATCH- it was a different brand than all the others and did not match what was on my receipt. I called to let Martin know what happened and that I'd expect a manager to provide a partial refund for the incredible and frustrating inconvenience of having to stop at another store AND come back to his store to get the tires I should've had in one quick visit. So, by now, I've arrived at a Mavis four times to get the tires I needed (having called ahead for the fourth visit, to ensure they had a single tire in stock- something no one at the store thought of). Martin was no where to be found and the store seemed to have a brand new manager. I was told they'd offer me 50% off the tire I was getting. HA! I already paid for the tire, and I came in to finally receive the one that was not installed. I told them I would hope for and request some retention effort for these extra hours of annoying phone calls, drive time and repeat visits to get a simple tire change. No retention effort was offered. I let them know I'd likely not be back and they'd be getting these reviews. Save yourself the pain and go literally anywhere else! UPDATE: The store was not empowered to provide any retention effort, but the Consumer Solutions team contacted me today. I'm changing my review from 2 to 3 stars since they offered me some credit on any future work done. I'm not sure I'll risk going back, but I appreciate the effort either way.

The first time, I came in for an AC issue. I mentioned that I believed the blower motor resistor was the problem, but I was told the issue was related to wiring instead. I declined the repair, and later confirmed that the blower motor resistor was in fact the issue. On another visit after a tire blowout, I only wanted to replace the damaged tire because the other tires were still fairly new. However, I was strongly encouraged to replace three tires as well as purchase a new battery. I ultimately replaced only the one tire and decided to get a second opinion before spending money on the battery. I later went to another shop for an oil change and asked them to check the battery, and they confirmed that it was completely fine and did not need replacement. I understand that repair recommendations can differ between shops, but having multiple experiences where I was advised to purchase additional parts and services that later turned out to be unnecessary made me lose confidence in this location. As someone who has since learned more about vehicle repairs and maintenance, I am glad I sought second opinions before authorizing the work. Based on my experiences, I would recommend that customers get a second opinion before agreeing to costly repairs or replacements recommended at this shop.
