A friend of mine had gotten inked here before, so when I was visiting we spur-of-the-moment decided to go back and walk in to see if we could get another, since she had enjoyed her first experience so much. That's also nice- you can walk in a lot of days here and get tattooed. Since covid that can be hit or miss to come by, and having to set an appointment can be such a pain. So, we walked in and they told us (3 of us wanting to get tatted, by the way) to come back in an hour and they'd squeeze us in, and that's exactly what they did. We all got tattooed by 3 different artists, and it was such a fun time. Everyone in the shop is super laid back and just enjoying the vibes and you could feel it. Mitch worked on my tattoo, and he drew up such a beautiful design I couldn't even believe it, but it was the truth. He was so good at listening to what I wanted and making it come to life, even with just a walk-in, smaller scale tat. I really enjoyed Mitch, he was funny and so charismatic and made the entire experience that much better. One bad thing about the Truth is that they are pretty terrible at answering the phone, so if you call don't expect someone to pick up. You have to find their Google Doc sheet to send a request for an appointment and that's your best bet to get set up there if you don't go in person. But for the past year I've been physically and mentally free of that burden for the first time in three years and seven months and I've been savoring every moment. For three years and seven months I consistently visited Joseph Downing at Fade Away Laser Tattoo Removal. I chose this place, and Joseph specifically, after visiting several other Tattoo Removal facilities in Minneapolis. I'm sure Joseph told me at least a handful of times over the years that he wasn't anybody special, and that he was just doing his job, but after visiting other places and speaking with other "professionals" I can tell you Joseph doesn't just "do his job" and that he's a better person and a better professional than he believes. First and foremost, Joseph made me feel safe. This is extremely important as a female who was already emotionally raw, struggles with anxiety, and who had a tattoo on her chest...of all places. Secondly, Joseph is very knowledgeable and honest. He doesn't try to sell you hope in the form of BS (which is common in the tattoo removal industry). He sells you hope in the form of the truth and facts. I believed him and am now on the other side of things, completely and utterly thankful. I can't speak for anybody else that works there, but they all seemed really friendly while I was visiting, including the tattoo artists. The piercing was practically painless for me and it looks amazing! Since I was a minor, they checked both my license and my mom's license, which I was happy about since that just accentuated their professionalism. On the way we passed by Dragonland Tattoo and decided to walk in and see what it's like. As soon as we walked in you could tell it was a reputable shop. The wall was covered in Best Of and NTA awards. I've been wanting to get a star tattoo for a few years now and was surprised to find that they could get me in pretty much right away, so I figured what the heck let's do it! I got a quarter size outline of a star on my right wrist and it took all of 30 minutes from when we walked in just to check it out to walking out with my tat exactly how I had imagined :) My niece's boyfriend got a rose tattoo on his forearm and was able to get in right after me. Our artist Dustin was awesome and eased my tattoo anxiety, making my experience go much more smoothly than my overthinking brain expected. I would encourage an appointment and consultation for most tattoos as we got small, simple ones that didn't really require one. I will definitely be back if I work up the courage to start the sleeve tattoo I've been thinking about getting. I would highly recommend Dragonland Tattoo, 5 stars from us!!!
