WBUR is useless to the residents of Boston. It fits the Chomsky propaganda model. It should have its license revoked and be shut down. No stars - I can listen to this station for only 45 minutes each day.....spread out over 12 hours! Thank god my radio is equipt with a remote/ presets keypad. Can't anyone on this forum be more objective and honestly critical of the demographic pandering these public radio stations commit on an hourly basis. They just want your money to pay their salaries. The programing is determined by them and the private consultants they pay handsomely with your "public" contributions. Do you think Bob Oaks lives in subsidized housing and gets to work with a "T" pass. He has a good salaried job. Nothing wrong with that except the station is always yelling about how poor they are. It's not the content of the public radio stations that's bad......it's the way they are managed. Haranguing the listeners constantly for money. I for one, pay a monthly bill to the Phone Company and Utilty company because there is no one else to go to. I'll be damned if I ever have a monthly bill from "my public radio station". I grew up and Boston and still live in the Greater Boston area. WBUR reporting has always skewed far left, to the detriment of all objectivity. Their entire organization is owned and staffed by lockstep liberals, most of whom pull down huge salaries. Sure WBUR claims to be repping The People but these Starbuck-chugging frauds all live in affluent, lily-white suburbs, far, far away from the Great Unwashed. So any news you hear from these folks is heavily edited, and totally adulterated. Meanwhile, sexual predators like Tom Ashbrook preyed on staff at WBUR for years before the station finally took action. Programming quality at BUR has diminished greatly in the past 5 yrs. I no longer listen to it, except for the BBC segment in the morning. They need to stop demonizing conservatives, and widen the scope of their limited liberal viewpoints. Their take on "news" as they report it is myopic and polarizing. And please stop with the fundraisers every other week; they already receive our taxpayer dollars as an NPR affiliate. If their business model is failing so badly, that should be a sign that their audience is tired of their liberal lockstep view on news journalism. read more

The problem with Yelp and WBUR is that whatever is written by the public, it is mostly ignored and dismissed. Take Politics for example, We are suppose to have at least a two party system. I don't listen to a lot of radio but when I do WBUR is my favorite. I listen to some "commercial" radio but I generally change stations when a commercial comes on. On WBUR I like the Terri Gross interview program, Car Talk, the BBC news, This American Life, Science Friday, and It's Only a Game. I find most of those shows simply very entertaining. I feel like I get pretty good international news on the BBC news program. read more

Great radio station to listen to any time because it has decent quality however WHY do they play Sunday morning mass. I listen to this station to be more informed about the events around me (although of course not my only source), not to hear about the fictional characters from a story book written 2000. Anyways that's my only gripe about the station. read more
