To me, watching 10-TV news is a bit of a chore. The broadcasts are boring and typically have a…read moredoomsday quality. I know they have to cover these stories; that's their job. But I get tired of only hearing about the bad in Columbus. From a visual standpoint, 10-TV does a good job. They have a bright studio set. They use maps, photos, personal interviews, and charts and graphs well. And they have clean screen graphics. However, many of the graphics move and twist, which can be distracting. The news is cast in HD. The morning and afternoon programs look great, but the mid-day program doesn't look as crisp. The quality of the anchors varies wildly. Some are fabulous, like Andrea Cambern. Andrea is well-spoken, caring, and looks great on TV. The woman has been in the business for quite some time, and she hasn't aged a bit. I need to learn her secret. But some of the other anchors don't have the hudspa for TV. It's not that they're awful; they're just missing something. The team has a quick response time. They're always on top of breaking news. The stories are set at a good, quick pace. There aren't many smooth transitions though. You could make a drinking game out of how many times they say "Well..." and switch over to the next topic. They follow-up on previous stories they've covered, which I like. It's good to know how things turned out. The weather guys are great. I like that they give tips about weekend plans or what you should do with your plants. The 10-TV staff try to do good by urging Columbus to have healthy habits, take their Commit to be Fit campaign for example. While 10-TV gives you all the facts, the show in general is not as entertaining as some of the other news broadcasts in Columbus.

I felt that when a newscast promotes a point of view, it should be labeled as an EDITORIAL. So I began watching PBS News Hour which provides an in depth newscast. My latest issue with WSYX/Sinclair is THEIR censoring the Jimmy Kimmel show. If I want to censor a show, I simply use the off button. If enough of us do that, then the show gets canceled. I miss the days when our local channels were truly local channels. Now they are big conglomerates trying to become bigger. One Sinclair station is like every other. We don't have reporters anymore. We have news readers.

This homeless man was suffocating and nobody was acting like it was an emergency! I pray he survived. He was struggling to breathe for 4 hours. My mother demanded they help him. They moved him away from the crowd. And left him for about another half hour before anyone checked on him. He was an old man, bleeding from the head and asking several times for help. Horrible. If this had been your family member, you definitely would expect him to have immediate attention to prevent suffering.

I really like the CW though. They are committed to the green movement, which is a great example since they're driving the media in Columbus. They give young talent an opportunity to gain experience by offering one position as the CW star each year. They're at almost every good-cause event in the city. They offer perks to viewers through a slurry of contests. And their brand is recognizable - how can you think of anything other than the CW when you see chartreuse? The CW audience is probably pre-teen to teen age, but even my mom watches some of their shows.

There's always a greeter right at the door for the events. The main floor has a lot of nice space for moving around, socializing, and participating in activities. Along the hallway is an intriguing history of WOSU, going back to its beginnings with stories about how operators used Morse code to communicate information, through the formation of public television, and more. The TV programming offers a lot of fantastic educational options for kids, in addition to news, local programming, and more. It will be neat when they are able to offer studio tours - we were told those are in the plans for the future!

First review of----The time and temp number!!!…read more My dumb smartphone became frozen on earphone mode--meaning I couldn't hear anything out the speaker; I could only hear out the earphone jack. After working the problem for a bit I needed a phone number to call to check its status. I remembered back in the old days of the 20th century the time and temp number one called for time and weather info before the internet was born. That would be the perfect number to call to see if my phone was back in order. Did the number still exist? Yes it does! In fact, I did a google search and found this, the yelp listing for the T&T Weatherline. They do have the time and date correct. The weather is on point too. Only downside is you have to listen to the advertisement before hand. So if you want the time or weather and are too lazy to actually press your apps to find out, call this number--nevermind the fact that it takes more work to do than just asking Siri or Alexa, or whoever.
