Years ago, I stopped watching channel 6 local and ABC national news. Too much fluff and too much company influence on what local anchors script was from Sinclair Broadcasting. I felt that when a newscast promotes a point of view, it should be labeled as an EDITORIAL. So I began watching PBS News Hour which provides an in depth newscast. My latest issue with WSYX/Sinclair is THEIR censoring the Jimmy Kimmel show. If I want to censor a show, I simply use the off button. If enough of us do that, then the show gets canceled. I miss the days when our local channels were truly local channels. Now they are big conglomerates trying to become bigger. One Sinclair station is like every other. We don't have reporters anymore. This station is so far left that I shake my head as they should just say they are the main backers for the DNC. They dress inappropriately for the job and several of their reporters have such whiney voices that it became unbearable to watch. The one positive is the Weatherman Buck Michaels who makes it interesting and does do community outreach to the schools. read more

Re: News coverage about Mr. Wexner stepping down, definitely should be viewed more as him bowing out gracefully... Overall, LBrands is a good company and Mr. Wexner is definitely a Brilliant business leader. Mr. Wexner's philosophy of business has influenced and shaped me as a professional.  Unfortunately, during my tenure at DC3 Mast Global Logistics from Fall 2017-February 2019, I experienced ongoing discrimination that led me to taking an approved leave of absence in March 2019 due to the adverse impact of the unlawful mistreatment. I decided to leave the business in May 2019 (with the burden of just case met) due to the intolerable working conditions.  I filed both an internal complaint with the company's ethics TPA and the OCRC/EEOC, however Justice still has not prevailed for me as the disadvantaged. Ethics was an open and shut, two days investigation and OCRC's investigation was nothing more than obtaining an employer response. Why does the news dept leave out critical details in their reporting, Bill 616, was a topic on Wed night 6:00 news, they left out the ban was only for kindergarten to 3rd grade, and then age appropriate after that. Sometimes what you don't say is more important than what you do say. read more

When it comes to news, both WSYX ABC 6 and their sister station WTTE FOX 28 suck, either their news is extremely biased, or completely pointless, occasionally they have some good reports, but I wouldn't consider it as a good source for the news Not to mention how unfair Sinclair Broadcasting is to television service providers (remember the big TWC fiasco?), proof that WSYX/WTTE is only in it for the money/ratings, not for the public's well being read more

I am done with this station for local news. This morning you aired a teaser for a show tomorrow night at 10:00, featuring a story about the work of Judge Hawkins, the environmental judge. To air this the night before the election without labeling it as editorial endorsement is both unethical and biased. I don't usually watch on weekends because the two women anchors betray no understanding of what they are reading. I do, sometimes tune in at 5:30 AM because it is the only local broadcast. I wouldn't even give this news station 1 star, more like ZERO stars. This news station is known for breaking into regularly scheduled programming for BOGUS breaking news stories. WSYX ABC 6 will break into other programming if it's getting ready to thunderstorm outside. Don't get too involved with a show that's playing on ABC, because WSYX 6 News may break in with a breaking news story of a bird caught in a chimney. WSYX 6 wants to report BS stories in order to say they were the first to report it. If you want to listen/watch real news, watch WBNS-10 TV or WCMH NBC4i. ABC 6 is a fine news station. No news service is completely unbiased, but ABC 6 gets about as close as it can. ABC 6 typically shows fair and equal coverage of all sides of the story. They have decent graphics and a nice studio set. The anchors are lively and have a good, conversational tone peppered with all the newsroom nuances and inflections you'd expect. One of the anchors, Terri Sullivan, has two Emmys in her trophy case. My favorite daily duo is Gabe Spiegel and Yolanda Harris. I'm a big fan of both Andy Dominianni and goofball reporter Johnny DiLoretto, who does double duty between ABC 6 and Fox 28. The weather team makes mostly accurate predictions, and the information they provide is easy to absorb and retain. The ABC 6 crew is friendly and easy to invite into your home. They handle their job with a professional air while evoking calm, easy-going, caring personas. read more

The investivgative team is a joke. I emailed them with information about sub-standard roofing work being performed by a company using sub-contracted workers who could not speak english and were not properly trained. These roofers damaged my roof. I had all documents to show the news and my hope was to alert other consumers. The reporter I talked to who is the investigative reporter for the station seems to be lazy and does not want to do any serious investigating. He said he only needed a few minutes to do the report hmmm no investigating at all. He never called me back. This was a chance for the station to help consumers and get stronger laws in Ohio to protect people from bad roofing companies. I wish I could give them zero stars for the lack of respect they have for the local community. read more

The funniest newscast in Columbus that isn't actually trying to be funny. I like to watch channel six not for the news, but for the bloopers. I know this is cruel and may say bad things about my personality but so be it. Channel Six has always been the number three station in Columbus. Maybe its because they lack to dainty magic of Cabot Rea or the weather genius of Jym G, but they have never had it. They have also never hired a good editor as almost every story has grammatical mistakes that create awkward pauses from the anchors. The awkward pauses continue during seemingly hour long breaks in between footage from the anchors and the reporters on the scene. I once saw a clip where the reporter couldn't be heard because there was a problem with the sound. Another time the clip just couldn't be played so the anchors just kind of sat there. Classic. Channel Six tries to hype up the weather to get viewers and last year they warned me about no less than four "storms of the century". Let the record show only one of those came true. Call me harsh, but channel six will probably be number three forever. Somebody has to and comedic unplanned genius lets channel six own this title with style. read more

I am disgusted by the commercial I saw during abc6 news last night! It was for Artemis medical group. It talks about a procedure to move fat from one part of the body to another. Sounds innocent, right? Wrong! It shows a shadow image of a naked woman moving seductively like a stripper and then an actual naked person, not a shadow, sitting with her legs positioned so you can't see her chest. This was at 5 pm! I never thought I would have to change the channel during the 5 pm news because my 11 year old was in the room! I will not be watching channel 6 anymore if they feel the need to be the x rated news station! read more

Can't wait till we get a change of government and bust up this Sinclair disaster of a media monopoly. So far just in Columbus, Ohio they have control over channel 6 (ABC) channel 8 (FOX) The CW and some kind of channel called THis. It means they filter the news you see. They control the viewing time of a program by cramming so many commercials you've forgotten what you were watching. They get away with this because they control just in Columbus alone, close to 60% + of the programming. Probably more nationwide. In the meantime, if my cable operator permitted a menu of channels to choose from, I would delete anything Sinclair or FOX related in a heartbeat. read more

have been trying for days to get six on your side to respond to a lady, who needs help in the worst way. she was scammed by riteway plumbing out of $1800.00 they did, no work just took her money and ran. The city checked from the street to the house--checked ok. the problem is a broken pipe inside the home she is getting back up, into the basement. Now she has no way to hire another plumber --on her behalf I have, called the attorney generals office--waste of time--called 311 to see, if there was any grant money--bigger waste of time. I started watching your news about six months ago. I really felt you were a better news cast than other stations. After you set up the car washers and the laundry service Im done. That was really low. I know the people werent right taking the money but to some it would feed their kids for a couple days.Why cant you have a positive news cast and make everyone have a little brighter day. OK, I'm old enough to remember the days of Nick Basso, Earl Green, et al, and I miss them. You got the news, weather and sports, period. And if there were any light-hearted comments it was left for the very end of the broadcast. Anchors aren't comedians, and I wish they wouldn't try, which is why I can't stand Monica Day and her second banana on channel 4. Hell, they actually did a segment showing how Matt Barnes is good at archery. I GOTTA GET READY FOR WORK PEOPLE. DON'T WASTE MY TIME!!! Having said that, I can deal with those clumsy moments when the control booth screws up and the eye candy gets totally lost without the teleprompter. So did obama. And this is why I prefer channel 6. I agree wholeheartedly with the above reviewer! I used to live on the east coast and would record CH. 6 newscasts to take home with me so my friends and I could share the fun together. Case in point, last week they did a package, (3 1/2 minutes) about companies that scoop the poop in your yard. The high point of the story were several close ups of dog ___. I almost fell off the couch. Are you serious people? Their editors must be anyone in the building with a few minutes on their hands as I've never seen such disjointed, poorly composed, video pieces in my life. They misspell the crawls on the bottom of the screen on a regular basis and mispronounce words as if they just got off the boat. They also get the facts wrong on a regular basis as evidenced by the number of times I've called to correct them. They feature a handful of reporters who are better suited for Saturday morning cartoons than they are for serious news and have one in particular who relates each story as if it were Armegeddon. I could go on and on, but I just saw them tease an upcoming story on a septic tank that exploded and I need to go get popcorn. read more
