I had the flaky paratha with chicken tikka masala, and simply divine; this is a true flavor bomb in your mouth without a doubt. WeDesi in Tanger Outlets, Deer Park, NY, is the perfect place to fuel up before a shopping spree! Everything we tried was amazing, but the curries are the true standout. The gravy on the Butter Chicken and Paneer Makhani is genuinely the best I've ever tasted--it's rich and absolutely mouth-watering, not basic at all. You must try the drinks, too! The Chai is so good we couldn't stop ordering it, and the Mango Lassi is delicious and perfectly balanced (not too sweet). Impressed with the quality of food here even though it is at the local factory outlets. I love their snacks like the aloo tikki burger. Good variety of Indian vegetarian options here if someone is looking. Pretty big interior and service was quick so you can get back to shopping I guess. I'm not very familiar with Indian food, but I saw the advertisements for this place while shopping at the outlets and decided to try it before heading home. The restaurant itself was clean and nicely decorated, and the man at the register was very friendly, which I appreciated. I was in a bit of a rush when ordering because my friend didn't want anything from here, so I ordered the half chicken with rice to go. I didn't end up eating it until the next day, but when I did, I was disappointed. There were only a few small pieces of chicken and the rest was mostly rice. I was expecting a more balanced portion, especially since the menu mentioned "half a chicken." I'm currently on a high-protein, low-carb diet, so getting mostly rice really didn't work for me. Even though the place is clean and the service was kind, the portion and balance of the meal didn't meet my expectations. Based on this experience, I probably won't return. read more

So I know this is a fairly new restaurant in the Outlets and I'm actually very happy that they made a Desi restaurant. I'm always on the hunt for new foods to try. I'm so happy I came upon here. I was able to try this cuisine. Let me just say that I'm not a person for spice, but the food here is really really good. The spiciness does not linger long. So if anyone that cannot take spice, it's not one of those places where your mouth is gonna burn off for the rest of the day. It's only for a very short period of time which I enjoy. I was able to enjoy the food that I ordered without my stomach hurting hurting with how spicy it was. I forgot what dish I ordered, but I enjoyed it. The cashier was very friendly and nice and whatever questions I had, he answered. The food came out nice and quick, and I didn't have to wait that long. It wasn't that many people so it did have some effect on that, but it did start crowding up after my friend and I started eating. Even then, I noticed people weren't really waiting that long for their food. I really liked how everything was set up. It was nice and spacious and I didn't feel like I was going to bump into anyone when I was walking to my table, to get my food and to throw out my garbage to walk out the door. No saffron, no subtle spice blend, no layers of flavor--just the culinary genius of dumping in every chili pepper known to mankind. My taste buds? Obliterated. My soul? Questioning its life choices. Let's talk about the meat (if you can call it that). Normally, you'd expect tender, juicy chicken or succulent mutton infused with flavor, right? Not here! Instead, the dry, stringy meat they served tasted like it had marinated in the air...and nothing else. Who needs marination when you have the bold, burning punch of chili powder. The white rice served is another half-baked. Mutton curry was good but the channa will take to a hospital. Big big Indian food lovers. We were excited to try this place. We usually go to Hicksville, so we wanted to try something new. We ordered the plate with the paneer makhni and Daal makhni with butter naan. Tasting the two curries it immediately reminded me of the frozen Indian food taste I get when I buy frozen. Not saying it's frozen, just taste similar. We were not a fan. Paneer was good. The naan bread was good, a little thin but still good. Was amped to try this place and the clerk was handling other food with no gloves after handling the register. Should have cancelled here but I said give it a shot, I was hoping he'd wash his hands or put gloves on before handling my food. No luck he wiped his nose prior to getting the food in the kitchen and prior to serving my food he wiped his nose again. I complained to him and told him why. he gladly gave me back my money. This is a really cute place located in Arches mall. They have an instagram flower wall and nicely spaced out tables with lots of windows and outdoor seating. The counter person who helped us was super nice. The food was fantastic. It came out hot and quickly. We had two different wraps - the chicken and the paneer. The wraps themselves we crunchy with a nice char and the seasoning in the wrap as well as the cook on the veggies were impeccable. We were pleasantly surprised to see that the wraps came with fries. Was at the mall doing some shopping over 4th of July weekend with the wife. I had a Patiala chicken with plain naan bread, and my wife had the and some kind of Chick Pea dish. Went here for the first time with high hopes as the name makes it sound authentic, however it's just another Indian spot that caters to an American crowd. The lamb chops and chicken tikka were tender but lacked any flavor. The butter chicken was the worst and I threw most of it away. The flavor profile is not Desi at all. Seems like a spot where mall attendies eat after a long day of walking around. If you are Desi, please save your money. I should have known better when I didn't see a chef. read more
