My family and I catered from this place earlier today and all I have to say is the wait is worth it! We got the HUGE massive platter for Iftari and it included chciken kebabs, chicken seekhs, lamb kebabs, and chicken gyro with rice. The quality of food was good but after waiting almost an hour and a half, the chicken tikkah was a little dry and bland. However the chutneys, the sauces that came with it all really complemented the taste. This huge platter was definitely worth the $90 and it fed a family of 10. And we still had left overs. They give you a generous amount of food that'll last you for a few more iftaris! They always added a bunch of naan for the order! Guys if you decide to order from this place, PLEASE BE MINDFUL of the wait. These folks are trying their best on making everyone's order freshly made and especially since they have massive amounts of food orders going out at once, it'll take you some time but please be patient. We ordered 2x gyro platters and 1x kofta platter, along with stuffed grape leaves, meat pastry, and the white bean cold appetizer. We didn't realize that everything came with a side salad and bread. The portions were massive! Even for 4 people total, we ordered way too much and were stuffed by the time we left. The gyro meat was a little salty but also well-seasoned. Surprisingly, we all loved the white bean appetizer, which had a bit of a tangy zing to it. (If you find yourself thirsty, I'd recommend skipping the yogurt drink in the fridge unless you've had it before and know you like it. It is very rich, sour, not sweet, and a but salty - like drinking a cold liquid cheese. The cashier girl warned us we may not like it, but we stuck to our choice...to our regret.) I had a new item not currently on the menu called the "crazy roll" I was blown away at how great it tasted and didn't feel that heavy either. The flavors and spices that they used in making the gyro and chicken meat was some of the best I ever had. Order that and you won't be disappointed. I was really looking forward for this place to be my new go to spot for afghan style food in the area. However, it was a massive let down. Although the advertisements and online food cuisine say Afghani food, this restaurant is NOT Afghani at all. Not all kebab is made equal, and this is certainly not Afghani whatsoever. I got the chicken breast kebab and chicken skewer kebab with salad and rice. The chicken breast kebab was old and dry. True afghan kebab is never red and is never smothered in chicken masala powder, yet this chicken kebab was so red, it almost made it unappealing to eat. When I bit into the kebab, it was like biting into a piece of chicken that was a week old and then microwaved. Also, the green sauce they serve was not on par with normal green chutney. It was underwhelming and was mixed with yogurt - something that I am not used to or prefer. On top of the fact that I didn't necessarily enjoy the food, my entire family, including myself, got food poisoning from the food. My mother even had to take a full day off from work just to battle the food bug. I don't recommend this place as it is not truly an Afghan restaurant. I will not be going back. read more

We had the the chicken kabab platter with the super delicious rice and salad. We also had the lentil and chickpea soup which was mouth watering, literally. It was so spicy which for me is awesome!! The more spice the better but the best part is that you still tasted the different spices and flavors. Plus they gave you Naan bread to dip in the soup!! I also ordered a side of falafel because like I said I'm a fatty and willing to try literally everything on the menu. The place has limited seating and your order can take some time to prepare as they make your food to order. So your not getting some food that's been sitting all day and reheated. Never would I thought would be finding such a delicious halal plate out here in LI. Really happy I had the chance to try their amazing gyro platter as well some Karahi Chicken. The Karahi dishes are made to order and does take about 45 minutes so definitely give yourself some buffer time. Probably works best if you called in prior to order for take outs since the place itself isn't very large its mainly a grab and go type of setting. Inside the restaurant is small with probably 2 to 3 4 person tables and few other 2 person tables but its quite clean and modern. Not much of decorations inside other than the menu on the wall but you wouldn't care any of that since the food is simply delicious. My first time experiencing Pakistani Karahi dish was a great success, the owner even threw in a free naan for me to go with it just to try it out as I was planning on having it with some white rice I cooked up at home. Honestly I think it goes well with most carb but I definitely love drenching the sauce over rice and naan. While similar to the Indian chicken dishes they do add a bit of spiciness to it at request to make give it some extra flavor. While the prices might seem a bit high it's definitely enough for 2-3 people. The gyro platter however is what I really love about this place. Not only its a HUGE platter of mixed meat and rice on bottom, they actually added my favorite chopped pita bread all grilled together with plenty of white sauce. Again the price might seem higher for gyro and rice combos but that one order lasted me at least 2-3 meals since the portion was so generous. The owner again threw in some extra white sauces even without me asking for it. Quite generous indeed. Definitely going to be coming back here whenever I get the Halal food cravings. This place is relatively new and doesn't seem to have as many reviews as other restaurants I've been to in the area but its quite an amazing local find. read more

I don't understand all the rave reviews for this place... So disappointed by this place! I chose to come here rather than our go to place in Hicksville, BBQ Nite and I regret it. :( We came in and there was a large group of 8 guys who had just ordered so they were "busy." We ordered a beef and chicken kabob combo platter and chicken quesadilla. The wait was forever! And we can't figure out why we waited so long since the food wasn't complicated to make!! No one acknowledged the wait. Though I do have to say the 2 guys/staff working there today are friendly. Food was really disappointing. Nothing special and nothing I would ever go back for. I'm not sure how this place has so many good reviews. The meat on the combo platter is laughable. You get a huge pile of rice and 2 measly portion of chicken and beef. We just stared at each other for a bit once we got our food. My chicken quesadilla was flavorless. We're spoiled by the amazing food BBQ Nite serves and it's so cheap!! Last week we ate there we paid $13 total for 2 naans, 1 chicken keema dish, 1 achari chicken dish and an order of fries!! $13 for all that! Here we paid $20 for the combo platter and the quesadilla. Ugh!!! $20 isn't much either to be fair, but not for what we got. I came here with high hopes, but too bad it didn't live up to it. Will never return. read more

Pretty good! We tried the combo halal chicken and meat with rice, delicious and flavorful! I still love the NYC food trucks, the rice and seasoning is different, but comparatively good, I recommend this spot for Long Islanders who don't want to make the trek out further. They also have desi dishes, burgers, and lots more on their menu I will look to try in the future. The only thing my husband and I didn't entirely love, was that the pita is cut up and cooked into it so that its little hard pieces, and not much of them. Came here last Friday for the first time in close to a year. Now a year ago I was still pretty new to this Halal game, so I wasn't really sure how it was supposed to taste. Now a year later I've eaten at numerous halal carts, trucks and restaurants and now that I've come back here I was really disappointed. First off most Halal places you can order your food and be out in less then 5 minutes. This place made me wait over 10 minutes. 2nd the food just really didn't taste good. The lamb was so gamey, like it tasted like they just slaughtered the lamb right before I ate it. Also the chicken was too shredded and I wasn't a fan of the seasoning and I can say the same for the rice. I'm blown away that this place has so many good reviews. I'm guessing they specialize more in there other dishes. Very expensive too. I think this is my last time I'll be visiting this place. read more
