I walked out on my deck one morning and to my surprise it was falling off the house !! I contacted Stephaine & Brian as well as several other deck people. We Fix Decks was the only company that suggested salvaging the existing infrastructure as opposed to a whole new deck....saving me thousands. They even moved me up on their schedule due to the severity of my situation. Hats off to Brian, Charles and most of all Stephaine who kept me totally informed through out the project. They did fix/replace damaged boards we had on our deck and were easy to work with initially. Two of the new boards had chips out of them and the new boards significantly mismatched our old deck and they didn't stain any of the ends of the boards. Additionally, during the first consult, they said they would clean and wash the deck after they finished yet it was left more dirty looking than before. I reached out twice in the month following and was told they'd come back out but never did. would only recommend if you need something fixed and don't care at all what the finished product looks like. read more

We had a new deck built in 2016 of cedar. We purchased a "clear" sealing product which turned the deck orange and started peeling and didn't even last a year. We tried power washing but still struggled to remove the old product. We met up with these folks at a home show in 2018. We finally got them scheduled this last week. Trying to work between rain falls, Chris and Lisa finished our deck this weekend. They power washed it, hand sanded it, applied mildew preventative and stained it with a clear finish. It is PERFECT. The first picture is when the deck was built and the next two were taken when they were done. I highly recommend this company. Their professionalism and care for our deck was more than expected. Everything went well from the bid process through getting the work done. The gentleman that leveled the decks did great but the painting job left a bit to be desired. Followed up via text starting on October 15th 2020 and was told they would be out to look at it. After a week of not coming followed up by text and again with no response. Followed up by both text and again the next week via e-mail and still no response.. Apparently they do not stand behind their work. Too bad everyone that worked on the job site was friendly and enjoyable to talk with. As you can see from the photos the paint on the deck surface is clearly not an acceptable job. April 2021 follow up - on E-Neighbors the owners blatantly lied stating I would not pay for a second coat. They have never responded to e-mails, texts or calls to come back and look at the job. Two other contractors have looked at the job and stated a second coat would not matter as the surface was not properly sanded and prepped. Their one coat is already peeling up in places. read more

"We Fix Decks" (WFD) Timeline: MID-SEPTEMBER-noticed my 2-year-old deck pulling away from the house. 9/21/22 AM-invited WFD to look at my deck while they were in my neighborhood. Stephanie Billings (SB) and Brian Richards, co-owners, came over, said the issues were due to my posts not being installed to code-$1.7K repair and a check for $1,020 to get me onto the schedule. 9/21/22 PM-I couldn't sleep. The timing of this repair couldn't have been any worse with vacation days away. I was also concerned that they only guarantee the work for 1 year. 9/22/22-I emailed SB about my concern over the workmanship, and asked for proof of licensure and insurance. SB replied immediately, telling me she would send copies of their credentials. 9/27/222 AM-Hadn't heard a word from SB since telling me she'd send me proof. SB's neglect, in conjunction with the horrible financial timing was too much. I sent her an email telling her I was going to defer this project until spring, and asked for a refund of my deposit. SB was quick to reply to my first email, to "save" the sale while there was still a chance for me to stop-payment on my check, but she ignored my emails once my check had completed the clearinghouse process. 9/29/22-SB finally responded to my request with a curt "Please review your contract and confirm that you want to cancel the work and we will issue a refund check accordingly." The parenthetical message being, "I'm keeping ten-percent". FOR WHAT??!! Again: FOR what?! WHAT transpired during those SIX DAYS to cause a $170 charge?! There's nothing compensatory about this: 1. WFD did not incur expense for supplies for this repair 2. WFD hadn't scheduled me yet, so my cancellation did not cause any extra work in rearranging their schedule 3. WFD hadn't scheduled me, so it didn't have to retract a promised day's wages from their employees. 4. WFD didn't even have to spend gas money to bid on my project-I invited them over while they were visiting a neighbor! I didn't cost WFD ONE PENNY, but SB wanted $170 simply because it was provided for in her "contract". That provision is to shield WFD from losses incurred after buying supplies for a project that's later cancelled. There was no loss to WFD here. Just because it's provided for, doesn't mean it MUST be enforced. This was nothing more than an opportunistic money grab. 9/29/22 (cont.)-I immediately replied that I did not agree with her 10% retention. And that's when her "ghosting" started! 10/07/22-10 days post request, I knew I wasn't going to invite her back next spring. I asked a deck builder who was working at a neighbor's house to weigh-in on my deck issue. This contractor, with 30 years' of experience, told me the issues were due to the drought! He concurred that the posts were installed to outdated code, but they weren't causing my issues. He had every opportunity to "milk" me; but instead of telling me I needed a repair, he told me I just needed a couple of good, soaking rains! And he was right! As of the writing of this review, my deck issues are resolving! 10/09/22-12 days post request, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. She ghosted the BBB, too! 10/18/22-21 days post request, I filed a complaint with the JOCO District Attorney's office. 10/25/22-28 days post request, and two days before leaving for vacation, I sent SB an email to advise her that I'd filed a complaint with the county DA. She immediately replied to tell me that she'd mailed it and that it would arrive that week. SB damn well knew that I would be out-of-town by the time that check arrived. She deliberately stalled all month so that the check wouldn't arrive until after I'd left. 11/14/22-Forty-eight days after requesting a refund of my deposit, it finally arrived-$170 short. IN CONCLUSION: She threw away my springtime $1.7K project for an immediate $170. She's throwing away future business lost to word of mouth over $170. Poor PR, and poor forward-thinking business management. Exercise caution in prepaying large deposits to short-term gratification business practices. read more

Had to remove and replace an existing deck stairway. I called We Fix Decks after seeing their truck working on my neighbors deck last year. They promptly showed up after calling for a proposal and their bid was just $50.00 over my estimate. After accepting their bid, I was told the work would be done sometime in April/May. They called me four days ago and let me know that they were ready to begin work. It only took a total of two working days to complete the work. All the materials were top grade and everything was properly fastened together with deck screws, not nails. Clean up was complete and thorough. The new stairway is solid and very sturdy and the structure was built to code. Thank you We Fix Decks for a professional job that 'make it right'! read more

Not very impressed with this company. They man was very bossy and made it seem like my composite deck was crap. We paid a ton of money for this deck and all I needed was for someone to stain the posts. Everything else is composite. He didn't seem to be a big fan of composite but only because there is no maintenance to do and he couldn't charge me on that. The price was very high too. My posts don't need to be sanded down as they will hold stain just fine if you power wash them. This guy was a know it all but didn't know much about simple staining. If you go with this company be prepared to get bossed around and over charged. I will stain your deck for free just so you don't have to endure the know it all boss man. read more
