What a beautiful campus…read more Came here for a conference and it was so refreshing to be on a campus that wasn't over 50 years old. The campus opened around 2005 and still looks brand new. Their fields, buildings, and lakes are all pretty. I went to the bookstore and got a pendant for my collection. I hope they keep up the beauty and appearance of the campus as years go on.

The town is too far away to be of any use (not that it's a great college town anyway, but at least it has a sandwich shop). There are no clubs, no activities, no reason to be there. I may get some flack about some small random club, but you can compare their website to any other university and judge for yourself. Students returning state they hate it. It's just a money grab. My son slipped into major depression there, sought help and was told by a counselor "you will never beat your depression". How incredibly F-up is that?!? I took it with a grain of salt, that it was his interpretation of the situation, but ultimately made the call to drive down at midnight and pull his ass out of there. Glad I did, got him the help that he really needed. Just talked to a former student that went there this semester, same story, so I'm writing this review. So parents, be very aware, you are going to have to check on your child's well being often. I would not trust anything about this campus, and it's their own doing. Please listen to them and don't be afraid to pull them out.

I don't believe that their standards are high enough, and that they often pass students who can't read very well. I volunteer for the probation department, and most of the kids I supervise are from this school. I've seen kids that are in 11th or 12th grade, who have difficulty reading our contract, who have no goals for after high school, and who just have an "I don't care" attitude. I would like to see this school push its students a little harder.

It's built into two phases with the first being a couple weeks long of learning material and some light hands on training before you can start working with clients. They teach facials, waxing, and anything to beautify the skin (dermaplaning/extractions/chemical peels/eyelash extensions/body wraps/etc.) You are given a full dermologica kit of goodies and pro products for your use only because on campus they have an entire dermologica back bar of which you get your product from for use with any clients you might get. Class is 3x weekly with 2 being in person and the 3rd being remote and those days will focus of theory and coursework. Overall my experience was excellent, they don't "punish" you for being absent and you have more time than your actual grad date to finish if you need to miss class for whatever reason. They also have a great leave of absence policy that made me feel a lot more ready to start the program while also working full time with two young children. I loved loved loved the teachers. Adored them. Ms Julie, ms kelle and ms Kristen are fountains of knowledge and I think the networking from them and fellow classmates already with experience in the industry is an invaluable resource. I'm really glad I chose Milan and I feel very prepared to take my licensing exam and am very excited to start working

It was the beginning of summer and we…read morefigured- sure this is perfect. he was really struggling to read at that point but when he started kumon i noticed immediate advances. its a commitment for sure! but once my son noticed he could read he even said- I think I should keep going because it's really teaching me to read! I was so proud of him and us for commiting to supplementing his education. I really saw his confidence grow too which was a win win. we continued kumon thru the school year and in the middle of 1st grade he was reading at a 2nd grade level. thank you to the kumon team for caring and supporting my son and all the kiddos at the academy.

PLEASE READ PRIOR TO ENROLLING YOUR CHILD(REN):…read more Prior to enrolling my child here several years ago I did a lot of research on this schools and the districts and found only positive feedback regarding McSwain Elementary. My daughters first years here under a previous staff was beyond amazing! Sadly, within the last couple of years, this school's administrative staff and new principle: Lauren Lanum/Vice Principle: Hector Perez and especially the Superintendent Andrew Kersten have completely lost sight of safety and responsibility for the children who attend this school. My child has experienced both discrimination for medical reasons and had been bullied a total of 8 months within one school year. When dangerous situations occurred and death threats were made upon her life nothing was done to stop it even though adults in charge were notified. My child was told by those in charge to ignore the bullies. My child became so traumatized to the point of wanting to take her own life because of the constant torment. I emailed, called & visited for various administrative help about the dangers and suicidal feelings my daughter was having due to the bullying and no one batted an eye except for the school counselor Vanessa Granados. (Thank goodness for her!) The principle Lauren Lanum could care less. Both she and the superintendent Andrew Kirsten hung my child for a situation they stated they had no malicious proof of. They simply used her as an escape-goat. A Teacher who was supposed to be responsible was never held accountable because thats what the adults do here; they protect one another. The female Coach at this school: Heather Perez allowed bullying and even became involved. Parents over-heard/saw her talking negatively about my child and contacted me to let me know she was involved. When I brought up the comments to the principle she made excuses. This school is like a boys club. If you are a "favorite" you get special attention and privileges. If you are new, bullying is a huge problem. I'm not the only parents child who's been emotionally tortured at McSwain. I'm simply the one who is willing to stand up against bullying and speak my truth and experiences. All other positive posts after mine are simply to throw off the scent of the lies and deception that this school is so wonderful at performing. Guardians Beware!

I am thankful for the curriculum and play opportunities that my children received. The teachers and staff do their best to nurture the children's cognitive and social development. They serve a very diverse community, full of various ethnic backgrounds. I like that the director, teachers and staff understand the concept of early childhood education, child development and diversity.
