If you are Divorced, going through a divorce, and/or a victim of Domestic Violence, beware of…read moreBanking with this Bank. I have been divorced for over a year and a victim of Domestic violence from that marriage. In our Divorce Agreement signed by the Supreme Court, we were to maintain a joint account for the purpose of paying the mortgage and utilities until he signs the house over to me. A few months ago he lost his job and income and apparently had accrued overdraft fees in his own personal account. The bank took MY money out of the joint account earmarked to pay bills with, and paid off my ex husband's overdrafts. Now I can't pay my electricity bill which that money was to go towards, and I may have my electricity shut off. I am partially disabled and have some serious chronic health conditions including breathing issues when sleeping which require a Cpap and could stop breathing if I don't have electricity to run my machine. I contacted the bank explaining that I am not financially or legally responsible for any of my ex husband's debts and explained the divorce agreement signed by Supreme Court regarding why we still have 1 joint account together. They have decided they were well within their Rights to take my money to pay off HIS debts just because his name was on the account. I trusted this bank with my money and they're using it to pay off my abuser's debts to the bank. From my perspective this is theft, from the bank victimizing someone who's already in a bad situation and giving my hard earned money to someone who's already abused me. And they asked me if I could ask my ex to pay me back? Do abusers usually pay back their victims? No. There was no compassion, no consideration for a victim, they only care about their policies and getting their owed money no matter who they have to take it from. I will be reporting this to all legal services I already work with, as well as to our State Representative, and notifying our local Domestic Abuse services that I've sought help with telling them to warn other Domestic Violence victims to be careful of banking with an institution that has no problem taking their money and paying of their abusers accounts if needed. I'll be alerting PR and Media as I feel this grave injustice needs to be publicized so that our community can be aware of the immoral and unjust treatment of bank customers who have already been victimized and now victimized again by bank polices that allows the bank to seize your money to pay off an abuser's debts to the bank.

On Friday I asked my boyfriend to make the 35 minute drive from our home to deposit $100 into my account. He had to go inside the bank because there are no ATMs outside that he could make this deposit through. Anyway, he walked inside and immediately all eyes were on him. No one greeted him just stares. He went up to the teller explaining that he would like to make a deposit into my account, he had my info in hand. Rose , the teller told him he could not deposit money because he was not an account holder. My boyfriend went on to repeat himself that it was a deposit and again Rose told him he could not make a deposit. Confused he simply said ok thank you. Moments later I get a phone call from the teller and she says that a man came in wanting to make a deposit into my account. She was shaken, her voice was cracking, I agreed and said yes. She said she did not allow him to make the deposit even though she said he did want make a deposit. I asked her why she didn't "allow" him to. She said " I dont know why, I didn't know what he wanted well he did say he wanted to make a deposit but but but he didn't have any cash in his hand." RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!! So, I am warning all other people who do not look like Rose to beware she may not grant you banking services because she doesn't know why. I KNOW WHY!

I have lived all over the United States and banked with regular banks as well as credit unions and…read moreuniversally they had predatory practices. I have now banked with TMTFCU for several years and have been pleasantly surprised that their policies are very straightforward and they practice their policies. They always process deposits before debits. If the account becomes overdrawn, the customer is given 24 hours to bring the account current. They go out of the way to work with you if there are problems. An overdrawn account gets one overdraft charge regardless of the number of checks processed. This bank is so far above every other bank I have dealt with over my entire fifty years of banking. I cannot say enough good things about this bank. They are very customer oriented.

I had a very disappointing experience with this bank's fraud department. After reporting what I…read morebelieved to be fraudulent DraftKings transactions, I was contacted by the fraud team and told the activity was suspicious. I was issued provisional credits while the investigation was underway. Without proper notice, those credits were later reversed after my claim was denied. The funds were removed on a Thursday before a bank closure and limited Saturday hours, leaving my family of four with very little money for food, gas, and basic necessities for the week. What was most frustrating was the lack of communication. I spent days trying to get answers, being transferred between departments and unable to speak with someone who could explain the decision. I was eventually told by a Vice President of Fraud that I should never have received the provisional credits in the first place. The entire experience left me feeling as though my concerns were not taken seriously and that my honesty was being questioned. Whether a claim is approved or denied, customers deserve timely communication, transparency, and access to support when their finances are affected. I hope the bank reviews its fraud procedures and improves the way it communicates with customers facing these situations.
