First off, I would give a ZERO star rating if I could. Submitted a claim 3 months ago for dental procedure performed on a dependent. "Lost" was what I was told after 2 months of no communication. This was sent via USPS. So I resubmitted via email and received electronic verification of receipt. Three weeks go by and no communication so I call for a status check. DENIED. I asked when I was notified of this as the determination was made a week ago. "You should get something in the mail." Uh Huh! I asked for the denial reason. Submitted receipt did not have some "code" that they needed. I asked why they didn't call the provider direct to verify that code. "Not our policy." Their policy is to Deny, Deny, Deny and not pay. Imagine my surprise when I searched and found that WebTPA is listed as one of the best employers. After receiving terrible service from them on several occasions, I can only assume this is due to the absolute lack of accountability by senior management of their employee's performance. When I say terrible service, I mean incorrectly processed claims year after year. I mean that they take months sometimes years to correct a problem that was their mistake. I mean that they refuse to see a mistake despite showing them proof from their own website. If you are an employer looking to hire out for your insurance administration, please care enough for your employees to look elsewhere. These people will drive your employees to look for jobs with better insurance plans. read more

WebTPA is one of the most worthless companies in the insurance market. No one knows anything at this company or can answer a question without lying to you. I was told that I have to pay a specialist copay when seeing my PCP because he is a D.O. When I asked the girl what the difference was between a D.O. and a M.D. she couldn't tell me. I informed her they are both physicians trained by different schools and can both specialize in whatever they want. This is not the first problem. Several months ago they sent in a prior authorization for a medication. My doctor's office had to fill it out 3 times and re submit it because insurance never got it. When I called I was told the same thing as well. When I followed up the next week the lady told me oh they've had the paperwork for weeks and it's just been sitting in the file and was never sent on for review. This company is a prime argument for getting rid of insurance companies moving forward with "socialized medicine". read more

I called and tried to get a straight answer as to why part of my surgery was approved and another part denied. It was denied because of American Health Holding's analytics, not my best health interest. WebTPA uses this company to do the math and determine medical necessity for them along with cost. The surgery was medically necessary if it was done one way but not another and postponed to the following year because I had met my deductible. They were aware of the surgery situation weeks in advance but waited to less than 24hrs before the surgery to notify the doctors office and myself of the change in hope I would not argue my position or my medical necessity. I have submitted claims 3x and there is still no payment. After the first time I called and was given a new email address to submit ( had been using a different one for over 2 years and was not informed of a change. ). I have since resubmitted twice and my claims seem to have just evaporated. My payment comes out of my checking account every month with no problem. Funny how that works isn't it ? I'm looking for new because I can no longer trust this company to pay out. read more

This company is the worst. If you have any claims it seems that their job is to slow walk until you give up. Whenever I have filed a claim, it's customary for me to have to follow up at least 15 or twenty times in order to get some type of resolution. When I have asked to speak to a supervisor I have been put on hold until I hang up. If there is money to be paid directly to me as for reimbursement the delay may be months. Each time with a different excuse. I get the feeling that this is their tactic in order not to pay. It is March 2023 and I am still trying to collect on a claim from October 2022. If your health insurance company uses this TPA based in TX, you know you are in for a long battle because they don't respond, provide incorrect info, and just don't care. Their email service, especially, is a joke as it's non-existent. The ineptitude of this company, along with their deceitful practices, is shocking. WebTPA is the worst and I would give a negative review is possible. My experience has been very similar to other one star reviewers. The customer service agents are aweful and rude. Long wait times, 39 minutes today. Claims are not processed correctly. Multiple payments have been sent to the hospital instead of to me even though I included proof of payment showing I had completely paid my hospital balance. Not sure if the employees are incompetent, lazy, crooks or some combination of those. The time and paperwork it takes to make a claim is not worth the few $s you can squeeze out if them. Maybe this is part of their business plan? Absolutely the worst company with whom I have ever had to deal. read more

ON HOLD FOR OVER TWO HOURS and I hung up. They make it as difficult as possible for the policy holder because some will give up and just pay what they don't need to. Their network is restrictive and dig their heals in if you want to use an out of network Dr., submit the claim and pay whatever the difference is. They may or may not pay UCR but most providers will reduce your balance from what you owe down to UCR. This company SUCKS read more

WebTPA is the holder of my cobra insurance for my previous employer. They have cancelled my benefits twice due to "non payment of premiums." This comapny has received over 1500.00 in payments which have all been mailed certified return receipt by US Mail before the due date. I have a record of all payments mailed. I have called repeatedly to ask if they have received all payments. The checks take 3 to 4 weeks before they even post to my bank. Bill Pay is nearly impossible with two major banks I use for checking, and there is no option for automatic debit for payment. Sounds like they deliberately want me to lose my coverage. I will be filing a formal complaint with the appropriate federal and state agencies. Good luck with this group. read more

I was so frustrated with the runaround that the hospital was giving me regarding the proper paperwork that needed to be filed to pay the insurance for my daughter's accident at school. The incredibly kind, helpful and patient Debi was so wonderful in providing me the assistance to get what was needed, not once but twice. Her follow-through was amazing, checking back with me when she didn't receive the paperwork or to tell me the claim went through. I hope the company values her service and commitment to helping others when dealing with a hospital system that could take a page out of her book and apply it to their customer service! While the people at the company are nice their policies are ridiculous. The fact that they are only subject to federal laws and not state insurance laws is horrible for the employees of companies that are forced to use this system. I understand that my wifes company is self insuring and that web tpa is only the administrator for them it still does not excuse their unwillingness to try to help me claim a medically not dental necessary procedure. My 6 year old son is austistic and requred major dental work. For this work he needed to be sedated for everyones protection and safety. With "normal" insurance there would be a claim against dental insurance for the dental work and then a claim against medical for the anesthesiologist. This company however does not agree with that and refused the anesthisia because the dental work maxed out our $1,500 coverage amount. Under Florida Law health insurance companies are legally responsible to cover at least a portion of the anesthia since it is always billed separate since a dentist can not administer the anesthesia and you need a MEDICAL doctor, but Web Tpa is not bound by state law so I am SOL for $700. read more

Aweful lazy insurance company!! You have to do all the paper work to get a bill paid. Webtpa denies all claims 3 or 4 times before you as the customer have to call and demand they pay the bill. Then they tell you if you had called before this EMERGENCY happened that the proper paper work have been done and that I wouldn't being going this right now! Wtf kind of health insurance company are you. You have to make them pay. My credit is so screwed up now because webtpa refused to pay. I pay over $500 a mth for my whole family. If you can find a different insurance company go with them. Only choose webtpa as a last resort. Even then webtpa probably isn't a good choice read more

This is an excellent healthcare third party administrator! I have received nothing but wonderful customer service from for WebTPA! They very clearly explained to me that my employer is self-funded and that WEB-TPA is the third party administrator, not he insurance company and that my employer is actually the one bearing the risk and paying the claims. I don't know why my employer never explained that to me before, but I am very thankful that WebTPA was there for me! read more

Equitable, the provider of our health coverage, decided to abandon this segment of the insurance business (probably became too costly as they had issued policies with excellent coverage) and turned over the benefits portion of the enterprise to one company and the claims portion to WebTPA. What a nightmare for those of us with the excellent coverage! WebTPA denies coverage of items that are clearly spelled out in our policy. When we point out the page, line number, and exact verbiage of our coverage, Web TPA tells us they don't actually have a copy of our policy so they can't verify what we are saying (what?!), they just pay out according to a "schedule of benefits" based upon policies currently marketed (again, what?!) When we contact the benefits company, that actually has a copy of our policy, representatives agree with our reading of the benefits but say they are powerless to override Web TPA's benefit determination. Wow. No checks and balances here. You probably won't have any choice over whether to use this company or not as most likely it will be an institutional choice (ie: a business selects a claims processing company and employees have to live with it.) Could Equitable be the pond scum that has orchestrated this infuriating and completely despicable response cycle as a way of evading charges they contracted for? Yes, yes they could, however, Web TPA is the face of Equitable now - carrying out what they KNOW is not the benefit plan the user has been paying premiums for all this time. What kind of people make deception a pillar of their business? Keeping costs down by denying clients what they are entitled to probably allows them to make strong competitive bids... As a business owner who values honesty and integrity, I wouldn't hire them. read more
