We were looking to junk a car that we recently purchased and apparently scammed into doing so. We bought the car from craigslist and thought we were purchasing from a company as we met the individuals at a car lot that they said they owned and filled out the selling info on the title the same. A few months later we have now come to the realization (after the tranny went out the mechanic told us everything else wrong with the car and was very honest in stating it was not worth fixing AT ALL and actually said he would not do any work on it because he did not feel right doing so). We decided to junk the car. My husband made a few calls and most we were going to get was $150. I chatted with someone online at webuycars.com and about 2 hours later an appraiser came to the house and did the inspection. At that time we accepted the offer the made for the car and they even allowed us to keep the car another few days so that we could have our very expensive stereo, dvd and alarm removed and we were able to keep those things. When they did the inspection they also let us know the history of the vin and that is where we realized how badly we were scammed as we were sold the car 4 months prior for a mileage showing on the odometer of 110000 miles and the vin history this company provided me stated it was reported in 2/15 to have had 269k miles by dmv. Because they were able to tell me this information (DMV did not notify me at time of registration nor did my insurance company who requested a vin check due to car being salvage title) I am now able to take the original sellers to small claims to get our money back. The appraiser who came was Wesley and he was awesome! I had all 3 kids with me and it was very hectic. He was so patient and quick with his job and it made it sooo easy. I had no clue what to do with the car but I know we did not want it, did not want to look at it anymore!! and did not want to sell it due to the condition as someone did to us. All around it was an easy experience and got what I needed and I was quick. Highly recommended to someone in need of junking a car! I was hit by a drunk driver a couple weeks ago while driving a car I really loved. Fortunately, both the other driver and myself both walked away from the accident, but unfortunately my car was totaled. As I was making arrangements to get a new car, I also had to dispose of my totaled car. I received several offers online by sending photos, and speaking on the phone. My buyer is Nick. He is a very nice and positive man. I have no idea how much I could get from my 2013 Prius. But Nick makes me feel I won't lose money for selling my car to his company. I also tried to sell my car to Cash4UsedCars.com. At first, they offered me a deal which is much higher than Nick did. However, after the guy, whose name is Chris, came over to my apartment. He saw there is a minor damage on the driver's quarter. Then he told me although my car was only 11,000 miles and drives well, this damage made my car nothing. So, he gave me the offer which was the same as Nick did. I understand he tried to give me a low price as the other companies did for their own profit. But I could not tolerate he overstated the issue to force me accept his offer. I tried to tell him I got my car checked by Toyota, CarMax, and Nick, and nobody thought this minor damage was a big deal. He told me he didn't care what other people thought, "You can sell your car to them, if you like", he said. So, I didn't even try to negotiate with him, and sold my car to Nick. On the following day, another lady from Cash4UsedCars.com, whose name is Leslie, called me to follow up. After I told her I already sold my car to Nick, I can tell the anger in her voice. She asked my how much I got, then directly hanged up the phone. I have a friend who sold her car to Cash4UsedCars.com. She lost her title, so C4UC charged her 65 dollars for replacing it. In my case, I lost my title either, but Nick charged me nothing! Furthermore, she was payed in check, which took two business days to transfer into her account. But Nick drove me to the bank and gave me all the money in cash. Above all, my advice is, if you have a used car to sell, sell it to WeBuyCars.com. This review is specifically for Rene who I dealt with in LA. He's great. I was expecting my expierence with WeBuyCars.com to be awful, I was really dreading it all weekend, but Rene was just a legit nice, solid dude. I'm moving to another country and needed to sell my car quickly. If I had more time to do the leg work, selling to a dealer, carmax, or even a private buyer would have been a better deal financially but you should realize that going in. You're sacrificing some extra cash in your pocket for the convenience. Rene came to me on my timetable. The other thing to know: be ready to negotiate. I'm terrible at it and sure I could have gotten more money for my car if I wasn't so laid back In fact, after a little back and forth Rene got me more than I had asked. Again, the company will alway low ball you, but after some back and forth with Rene, and in turn him having some back and forth with his boss, he nearly tripled the original offer. Again, if I had more time and was more bullish, I'm sure I could have gotten more. So just know you probably can get more than the initial offer if your car isn't a clunker. Even then, the negotiating process with Rene was a bad one. He came back with a number. I knew it was way too low, and luckily didn't have to sell. I could just throw the car in the garage if the price wasn't right. So he point blank asked what I'm looking for, what I think is fair, and we went from there. The company itself is probably really only worth 3 or 4 stars tops. They offer a good service if you are hard up for cash or just need to get rid of your vehicle ASAP. WeBuyCars bought our 2004 Honda. I called at 4:15 on a Wednesday, George called me back at 4:30, was at my home at 5:30, and by 6:00 he had written us a check. Very satisfactory. When I called on Thursday to get copies of the six forms we signed, Rosanna said that the buyer sends all his paperwork in on Mondays, and that she would send me copies on Monday. When that did not happen, I called on Tuesday, and Rosanna said that the paperwork had been delayed, but that she had the paperwork in hand and would send it to me that day. I had copies in hand by 1:30. Very responsible. The problem occurred with getting the car picked up, which was scheduled for the following Monday. I'm coming a little late to this party as my car was bought three weeks ago. But I haven't forgotten the excellent experience, and finally have a moment to comment. Got a written report from our mechanic that I viewed more as an obituary than any realistic suggestions for repair. Tripped across an ad for We Buy Cars on the California DMV website while investigating the state's "Retire a Car" buy-back program. The company sent their rep, Nick C., over in about 2 hours. I showed him the obituary and we discussed the options. I'm a field rep in the fence business, and sometimes feel like I'm the only straight shooter out there. But Nick was every bit as honest, straight forward, and professional as I always try to be. A real pleasure to work with. Lafayette would have to be the go to guy. My recently paid off Acura TL Type S and I were involved in a T-Bone accident on the driver side that would have taken my life if I wasn't in one of the safest vehicles. I had a very positive experience with this company out of southern California. My wife and I needed a more reliable long range family vehicle, but didn't want to gamble my old car's value on a dealer trade. I had never even heard of this company before today and was actually intending to simply trade-in my used car for the new one we'll be buying within the next week. Contrary to other experiences I've had with auto sales and repair businesses, these people left me feeling as though I had been treated with the utmost amount of honesty, respect and fairness. I first dealt with "Blake" on-line. He demonstrated all of the qualities referenced above. I did my best to disclose all material items about the condition of my used car (I'm no mechanic). He was straight with me about its apparent value and then sent a purchasing-representative by the name of Brian McCartney to my home to look at the car. As for a lot of people, this was my first time selling a car. I was amazed at how quick, easy, and convenient they made it. I filled out the form online with the information about my car, and received a call within a half hour. I'm very impressed with this service. I googled this place by chance because I didn't feel like selling my Jeep Liberty (176k miles) on Craigslist and doing all the work associated with cleaning the Jeep, taking pictures, writing an add, etc. I called the 1800 number, they sent out Spencer the next morning. He took pictures of the Jeep via phone, he checked the engine, and we went for a quick test drive. I freely shared the issues with the Jeep. Yesterday I contacted WeBuyCars via the Internet and chatted with one of the representatives. I told them about the car I wanted to sell and we talked about the details. We even discussed a price. The rep set up an appointment for today for soemone to come out and look at the car, offer a realistic price and pay by check at that time. Didn't feel safe dealing with complete strangers. Finally realized I might get a good referral from the body shop I had dealt with on a different vehicle. I'd put my van up for sale on CL but decided to search out other avenues to sell it. Came across webuycars and while at their site.. a chat window popped up and I started a convo with the rep. They said they didn't want to insult me with their first offer which was 95% less than it was listed on CL for. After stating that fact the rep apologized and said their supervisor "chastised them for making such an outlandish offer. Accepting the apology I set up an appt. for the next day. Enter COLTON. Nice young man. Showed up on time. Inspected the vehicle, took photos and then we drove around a bit so he could see how it performed. Not sure what's going on with calling back to the office after each price quote.. it must be part of their "shtick". My experience with webuycars.com started with live chat. It was a Great chat. Very pleasant and to the point. They got the basic info and said they would have someone out to inspect the car as soon as I was ready. The next day Jeb came out to look at My 2010 Jeep Wrangler. He was very knowledgeable and I am not sure if he knows it but he schooled me in what to look for when buying my next used car. He gave me a fair accurate evaluation and we settled on a price that neither one of us was happy with but was reasonable. Jeb found a notary that was opened on Saturday and a bank that was opened so he could get me a cash deposit . As far as customer service goes Jeb gets an 8 out of 10. He would have gotten a 10 but he refused to stop and get me coffee . I would also like to add that they need to get him a new company car. Something is leaking from his car, and it has been wrecked , which doesn't really instill confidence in a company that deals in cars. What sealed the deal with webuycars.com was the young lady I spoke with on the phone. I believe her name was Sarah but I could be wrong. Anyways she was sweet and understanding about limited cell phone minutes and overall did a great job. I have a feeling she would have stopped for coffee so I will give her a 10. My experience was pretty good. I woke up in March one day wanting to buy a new car, but was still making payments on my 2007 Ford Fusion. I didn't want to trade it in at the dealership and add more money to a new loan, I wanted to be free of the my old loan and my old car! I Google Webuycars.com and started a chat with an associate. She asked me how much I wanted for the car and was very helpful in scheduling a time for an appraiser to come out and look at my car. We had a Ford Explorer blow its engine while traveling down I-80. We were 100 miles from home. Had it towed to a shop and had the unfortunate news that the repairs to bring it back to life would exceed the value of the vehicle itself. Now what do we do??
