My boyfriend Tony and I aren't really shoppers to begin with. Being a mother of four and starting a business pretty much rules our day to day life giving us little time to do anything alone together. I've never bought jewelry before, at least in any serious capacity. All the research in the world didn't prepare me for the actual process of buying an engagement ring. Thankfully, Wedding Day Diamonds was the first store I went to. The Bloomington store looks small from the outside, but the huge selection of rings they have is overwhelming. I was fortunate enough to have Richard there to help me narrow down the selection. After having him color in countless rings with a marker so I could see what a sapphire looked like, I settled on a few I liked. In an attempt to be a savvy shopper, I then went to several other jewelry stores. The experiences at other stores just didn't match up to Wedding Day Diamonds. The sales people from other stores, while kind and helpful, seemed more interested in closing a sale than helping me find a ring I liked. After a few days of emailing back and forth with Richard and visiting the store to meet with him and Dane, I decided on a ring and picked a sapphire. I went into Wedding Day Diamonds with the idea of buying a setting to insert a pearl into as the center stone, because I am a little out of the box. Mackenzie Lindback saved me from making this mistake! (I didn't know that a pearl would get ruined if you wore it every day-- and I know it sounds like someone convincing me to get a diamond instead to make some money, but Mackenzie was so genuinely concerned and it was obvious that she just wanted to help me in the most earnest way possible) Mackenzie was so knowledgeable and passionate about the rings and stones that she gained my trust immediately. I told her vaguely about the style of rings that I like, and of course it was clear that I was not the most traditional girl, and she pulled my two favorite rings of my search as her first two choices. She also was so helpful with customizing a ring to make it special to me, such as using alternative stones to the classic clear diamond. Without me telling her, she picked up that I was very into organic things and ordered some NATURALLY lightly colored stones for me to come back and look at as an alternative to the pearl idea. (They also have plenty beautiful traditional diamonds ladies, it's just not my style) Mackenzie Lindback gave me the best experience I could have possibly asked for. I recently went to WDD to hopefully find someone and some place to assist me in my search for the ring my girlfriend would truly love. Sadly I was not quite prepared for the amount of information and options available. The first I'd like to get out of the way is that it can be very expensive. Most things in life are expensive if they're worth anything of real value. At WDD the value matches the price. The hope and idea is that you're buying something that will last a lifetime and that is the goal of WDD. Their customer service is top notch and easy going as opposed to lazy and high pressure at other places. I never felt like I had to shop there or that it was the only place I could find what I was looking for. I ultimately brought my girlfriend in with me to help find something she truly loved and she ended up getting a custom made ring. I have not proposed yet, but I plan to in the coming months and I cannot wait to see her face when she finally sees the ring she's most likely forgotten about. Within five minutes or so I knew that Wedding Day stood ahead of other jewelers that I had visited at the mall. Brent Clark did a great job of assisting me, giving me a very informative presentation via ipad on pretty much every aspect of buying my fiancee's diamond and ring. After visiting most of the jewelry stores at the Mall of America, I left feeling under-informed and like I hadn't really seen that large of a selection, whereas Wedding Day's selection seemed a lot better. Brent was very easy to get along with and I felt comfortable, informed, and un-pressured with his sales style, which is really important to me. I ended up buying a loose diamond and proposing by giving it to my girlfriend in her Christmas stocking. We went in on NYE to pick out her band and Brent helped us again, turning out to be another great experience. My experience with wedding day diamonds was second to none! I recently purchased my finance engagement ring there. I was pretty clueless on what I wanted when I first walked in the store. All I knew was I wanted a ring. From the moment I walked in Rachel Novak approached me in a manner that was not intimidating or pushy at all. She offered her assistance in the process and made me feel comfortable. My girlfriend and I have gone in to the Bloomington WDD a number of times over the past few months. Each time my girlfriend seemed to like something just a little different. Working with Dane, he was always willing to make a suggestion. It was amazing how we would describe something and he would find exactly what we were looking for. He really knows his stuff! Dane did a phenomenal job of making sure every ring she liked was noted in "The Wish List", which made it easier for me when making the final decision. He was incredibly patient with us as we took a little longer to decide on The One than most couples likely take. When it came time to selecting the perfect stone, Dane went out of his way to get it to the store so that I could take a look at it. By the time I made the big purchase, the rest of the team knew who I was, but that did not stop them from ever welcoming to the store again. You will be treated as a valued customer. When looking for an engagement ring for my fiance, I was starting to get a little frustrated. I had been to the mall stores first hoping to gain a little knowledge and get a feel for whats out there. The knowledge gained was minimal at best as the knowledge to give was not large. I then tried looking at the stores some of my friends went to. I was able to gain more knowledge of diamonds, but the hard sell tactics left a sour taste in my mouth. I decided to try Wedding Day Diamonds. I was pleasantly surprised by the service I was given. The store had only a few customers so Dane was able to spend time making sure I had all my questions answered. While I didn't make a purchase that day, I was not prepared to find "The Ring", I went back to make my purchase and we will be back for our wedding bands. My fiance and I went in to Wedding Day together after he proposed to me back in August. He had decided that he wanted me to be able to customize a ring. Now, I don't understand different cuts or styles, but when we walked in and met with Frank, he made me feel very comfortable. He did not make me feel like I was being too pushy with what we wanted in a ring and with all the questions we were asking. We had to come back multiple times over several months for several different drawings, to look at different stones, questions,etc. Each time, he made us feel very welcome and did not rush our decisions. I cant say enough good things about this store and my sales rep Rachel N. She has been so accommodating and pleasant through out this whole experience. I finally purchased the most gorgeous engagement ring for my girl friend and even had extra filigree engraved on the sides for an awesome price. I worked with Mackenzie Lindback around 10-14-2013 on an anniversary band for my 20th anniversary. I shopped several stores and comparing prices, rings and service. Other stores and people made the experience like buying a used car back in 1980. While I did end up using another large department store for my purchase, it was not because of Mackenzie's help. What an amazing experience I had working with Mackenzie at WDD!!! I went into it nervous as i had virtually no clue what I was looking for, what type of ring, and knew basically nothing about diamonds. I had a blast, I was able to tell Mackenzie that I was looking for something with an antique look to it, and something that was a little different than what most woman wear. What a blast, she picked out a few rings right away that all were very nice, and within 3 rings she had the one that i ended up buying. Than when going through picking out an actual diamond, she took time to show me what everything meant, and explained how and what the diamond grading process was.
