Van Guilder's is dishonest, has terrible customer service and are not reputable. Avoid this jewelry store like the plague!

Mind you, this jeweler does not even offer Citizen watches. They didn't make me feel "less than", and they were extremely friendly and helpful. The icing on the cake was when I asked how much I owed them, and she refused payment and said it was on the house. I came in not knowing a single thing about engagement rings, and feeling like an expert. Ryan really wanted me to pick the perfect ring for the budget I presented him. He made sure that I wasn't picking a diamond based on the carat size, but rather, he allowed me to look at a variety of different diamonds with varying weight/color/shape. The best part is, at no point in time did I feel like Ryan was swaying me towards a specific diamond. Instead, with his infinite knowledge on diamonds, he told me all the details of the diamond I was looking at and at the end, allowed me to pick the one I felt like was the right choice. But it doesn't even stop right there, after picking the best diamond choice that was in the store, Ryan pulled up a list of a million more diamonds that he did not have in store but can order so I could check out. Again, he filtered the list by budget and tried to find me the best diamond possible, I picked a couple so that we can compare it to the diamond I have selected I store. He told me to come back next week and the new diamonds should arrive. I ended up picking the original but it was nice to see such a huge variety of diamonds that were all within my budget. I was initially afraid of diamond shopping because I had no knowledge on them, but my experience at Knox Jewelers really wiped out that fear. Once I landed on the ring design we looked at 3 different diamonds. She explained and walked through diamond quality and characteristics. With her help I chose the perfect diamond for the setting. During the build process they provided email updates to their website so I could see the progress of the ring (it also explained the build process along the way). They gave me the full purchase price and applied it towards a more expensive pair of earrings. They took time to show me diamond studs in good variety of styles and range of quality. I ended up buying beautiful, high quality diamonds for less than other stores. And even though I was willing to spend money, they never tried to talk me into anything pricier. Their pricing is very competitive, they're honest and they remember repeat customers and are willing to help you find the perfect item. I'm not sure if they carry the designer names in jewelry, but what they do have is hand picked and made by the owners. Worth checking them out.
