The One Bridal did a lot of good/great work but the long waiting at the end reduced my overall satisfaction. Let me start with the pre-photo shoot. We shopped around and talked to a few vendors before selecting One Bridal for our photography. I was impressed by their marketing and a number of wedding photo albums they had on their slideshows. One Bridal also offered competitive market rates for photography. Communications were excellent in the beginning and they were transparent about the timing of when they collected payments and when they will provide the photos (usb), album and canvas. For this part One Bridal scores 4.5 / 5.0 The photographer who took the photos was Joseph. He worked alone for our engagement photos in 2018 Spring and he had an assistant who helped take additional photos at our wedding in 2018 Summer. Our engagement photos were taken at Main Street Unionville. I was responsible for buying a permit for the location but there were no issues with getting the date & time we liked, meeting with the photographer, or weather. Joseph was both photographer and director as we walked around the location took photos The engagement photo shoot was scheduled to be one hour in length and took longer (around 1.5 hour) to complete, so I was happy when Joseph was able to give us some extra time to take all the photos. We had to do some walking and some of the photos we had to take a few times over but overall the day went well. For this part Joseph scores 4.0 / 5.0 Our wedding photos were taken at a banquet hall in Markham. The day and photo shooting started earlier for us as our party had some additional activities in the morning. Joseph & team had no issues with meeting us at a private residence near the banquet hall then relocating to the banquet hall afterwards. Since it was wedding day, there were a lot of activities and a lot of photos. The photography team took photos of us, our bridal party, our family, our guests, and our venue. Over a thousand photos were taken that day (given the large volume some photos were excellent, so good and some bad - that was to be expected). When reviewing the photos afterwards one observation I had is there were a few photos with large groups where a few people were somewhat blocked by others. The whole day went by a blur but I probably should have stayed for more photos with our guests after the ceremony. The photography team worked a full day, ate lunch and dinner with us and mostly did a good job. For this part Joseph and team scores 4.0 / 5.0 For me, the biggest challenges started after all our photo shoots were completed and 100% of the balance was paid. We were hoping to get all the photos (usb) and album about 3 months after our wedding. However, it took us around 5 months to get our usb and around 6 months to get the album (we got our canvas early so that was not an issue). During the waiting time communication with the vendor was inconsistent (longer turnaround times for phone call / emails). My main takeaway from the waiting experience is perhaps I should not pay the full balance until the final piece of product is received. For this part One Bridal scores 1.0 / 5.0 Overall, there were some communications challenges (it is fair to say it applied for both sides and I contributed to those challenges as I got more frustrated with waiting) and some lengthy waiting but we got what we agreed upon (our canvas photo, our wedding album and our usb key with all photos) and I am mostly satisfied with the product. 3.2 / 5.0 David Wu

I was impressed with what I saw about Studio1098 on Yelp and my fiance and I were excited to head to the store. From the moment we walked in, we felt out of place. Tamara was short with us, asking why we didn't go back to the store we purchased the ring from. She told us she didn't feel totally comfortable doing the resizing, which is understandable. However, in the process of explaining why, she spent several minutes pointing out all the flaws in the engagement ring. Minutes ticked by as she pointed out all the things she felt were wrong about the ring. I could see my fiance becoming visibly angry. I just wanted to take the ring back from Tamara and leave the store. Finally, after both my fiance and I were feeling thoroughly frustrated and insulted, she stopped the flow of negativity to tell us it was a beautiful setting. At that point I asked for the ring back, told her we'd go elsewhere and walked out of the store angry. The long and short of it: I went in happy and excited and I left with my fiance needing to reassure me that she absolutely loves her engagement ring. I will not be going back to Tamara's store. It's a shame because the jewelry looked quite beautiful and I am very loyal when I find a jewelry store I trust. I will have to keep looking.

We were never unhappy with what they offered, but felt like no one really listened to us or asked us what we wanted. When we got to Studio 1098, we met Tamara. She asked us question after question, spending over an hour and a half talking to us and figuring out what we wanted (as opposed to what we "should have"). She also taught us more about diamonds than most diamond sales people know. It's so important to know what you're getting, and she made sure we were informed and educated every step of the way. Importantly, Tamara asked about budget and stayed within it, which turned out to be a saving grace because I was not able to tell the difference between her SI2 and the VS1 I saw at the other shop (twice the price!). That enabled me to get the size I wanted, and man does it sparkle!!! The detail on the ring was incredible, she really made it exactly the way I wanted it to look and envisioned in my head. She was creative and helped me to define what I wanted and make decisions. Our ring was valued over 10K what we paid, and I feel like i got a deal but also got the best quality that you can get. I could not recommend this shop more to anyone, whether your budget is 10K or 80K, this is the right shop for anyone looking for an engagement ring.

She said, "I knew a bride who was mortified that the 3D flowers were glued onto her dress" - while trying to rip a 3D flower off my dress to show me it was glued. Then she showed me a seam on my dress and said, "see I would never do a seam that looks like that". I felt like crying during the appointment, it was a truly awful experience. I wouldn't recommend Elizabeth to anyone solely based on her extremely poor customer service skills. I'm making this review because I don't want anyone else to feel how I did when dealing with Elizabeth.

The owner of the shop, who I believe is named Cher, was just lovely! She was friendly, helpful and gave me a great price on a beautiful silk kaftan, which, I should mention, won me plenty of compliments last night. Cher helped me find a perfect last-minute outfit in a pinch and even did the necessary alteration the dress called for. Her shop has lots of other treasures (including a bridal boutique in the back half of the store) and I'll certainly be back for more! Thanks for being awesome, The Refinery!

Although the shop is largely taken up with racks and racks of beautiful retro wedding frocks, there's also a good selection of vintage pieces, and the odd pair of shoes, belts, bags and other accessories. The store owner was above and beyond helpful, going through her back stock for several possible pieces, one of which was absolutely perfect. She also suggested several styling ideas, and recommended a seamstress across the street (at the Coal Miner's Daughter) who was able to do a few alterations at a very reasonable rate. And the dress was a bit of a bargain. All in all, for someone whose natural response to over-enthusiastic/invasive shop assistants is to say thank you and leave as quickly as possible, the experience was a delight. And the music is usually pretty cool.
