I managed to get in six holes in two hours and 15 minutes today. If you choose to go on a weekday or during the weekend, this is a Great Course the greens are fast and firm and the course is always kept in great shape, although they are doing some pretty significant maintenance work around some of the holes it's still extremely playable. When there aren't leagues around this is probably a four maybe even five star public course. If you make the mistake I did going out and wanting to get in some golf on league nights (M-Th) it's a one star course, just go somewhere else.

The "zoo" has gone downhill since our last visit. Less animals than before and not much worth the cost of admission. Even the employees seem unhappy. The visit to the website was the best part of the experience, if that tells you anything. Zoo standards must be awful low. Don't go with high expectations and you're assured to not get let down as much. On the positive side, the porta-potty in the middle of the zoo was decently clean. Two hours and $82 later and we now know we won't be back. We'll just go a little further south to the Toledo Zoo next time.

You may have said "I'll never play here again" the last time you played the Old Town Par 3, I know…read moreI did. But today I was pleasantly surprised. The new ownership has this course on the right track, you can tell he cares and more importantly knows what he's doing. Is the course perfect? Absolutely not. The course itself is probably 3.5 stars but if you compare it to what it was before you could give 10 stars. What's good: -There's actual grass on all nine greens. They're very slow and the fringe isn't great yet but compared to the dirt I played on two years ago this is great. -There are tee boxes and multiple tees -A lot of new golf carts and repairs to the old golf carts -New targets on the range and new range balls What's not so good: -The grass everywhere besides the greens is still pretty overgrown. The tee boxes were like teeing off from the first cut -Greens still need some work but it seems like they're doing all the things needed to improve next year -No real practice area or putting green on the course or at the range. They had a small area roped off on the first tee -They need to create a cart path or clear the trees around 7/8/9, getting to 9 is still weird Overall I'm very impressed with the new owners' progress on turning the course around. It isn't quite ready to be "good" but I'm optimistic to play it again next season and see. *My photos reflect what I believed to be the best and worst greens on the course.*

The course is very well kept and the holes have lots of fun challenging designs. There is a great ice cream place called Twin Pines next door that has surprisingly good food and great ice cream. Definitely stop here for some family fun! We had a great time.
