Things to do along I-75 N/S to and from the Detroit area (2 of 2)…read more I had to slow down the clock and spend a little time here. The real destination was Detroit. That said, I had coffee at one place, ate a meat loaf lunch at another, pawed the car windows and did some test sitting at a few dealerships, drove around the University of Toledo campus (which I didn't know is a very good school for STEM disciplines), and put the cherry on top of these few hours by visiting the Toledo Botanical Garden. I walked the garden and took photos. It was warm and humid, so I didn't really relax and sit a spell. Like many public gardens, the Toledo Botanical Garden, out toward the western end of the city, mixes up formal garden spaces with European cues and more organic spaces, meaning they are natural in affect and display very little rigid planning. I was fairly amazed how, as you moved along, these different vistas came into view. Everything was cohesively put together and you could enjoy the different environments they've curated for you. The Toledo Botanical Garden is part of the city metro park system, which I learned from other reviews. Thus, being under this umbrella might mean that the park is free of charge ... and it is! For this aspect and for delivering more than I had expected, having pulled it from a "top things to do" list, I believe the Toledo Botanical Garden handily earns 5 stars.

There are some events that go on here in the evening, so would love to come back and experience one of those. Also, looks like you can take art classes here!

She is so helpful having experience and dedication to her employees, and their sense to provide a satisfactory place to hold your event. The charm of the hall overlooking the previous golf course brought a classy magical flavor to our gathering. The food was good. Better than most catered meals I have had previously. We were looking for a classy casual room to hold up to 200 hundred. We didn't have 200 and were over 100. It was a very comfortable fit for us! Her girls behind the bar were attentive and kept everyone satisfied with their performance providing the drinks requested. As it's an older but very charming interior, we had plenty of room, there was an ante room with seating and could provide a minute or two of quieter atmosphere. The restrooms were absolutely well appointed, you could feel at home and not running in and out afraid of one of those disasters. There are very little detractors to this place. But they I think have done a fine job trying to give you the best. They have! Tamaron is not new or it's decor today's sterile halls. But it is such a. Harming place you might want to envision your event here. We got what we expected out of Tamaron! Thank you Vickie.

It's older so it's not perfectly polished but that's what I loved about it. The beautiful bridal suite sat at the top of the tower and the grooms man cave is an old timey, rustic locker room that is so cool. The main room has a huge bar and tall high ceilings. The "icing on the Tamaron cake" was Vicky. From the day I signed the contract to leaving on my wedding day, Vicky was there to help at the drop of a hat. If anything, use Tamaron for Vicky's fantastic service.

Right from the first meeting with Becky, we knew this was the right fit for the wedding reception. Our goal was to have all events for the weekend in Downtown Toledo and The Summit Event Center was perfect! The Hotel was a block away and all other events were close by within walking distance which made it easier for the guests. Becky is so informative and professional, always returning calls or emails within a day. Becky and her staff took so much stress out of the wedding reception planning. The free monthly tasting were so helpful. This gave us a chance to bring various people to the tastings to help choose the right food and see the venue. It also gave us an opportunity to get to know the staff. They exceeded our expectations! We wanted to customize our food and make it a fall theme. Chef Keith was so helpful and willing to figure out the right combinations of foods. The late night snack of chicken chunks and mac and cheese was a huge hit! Hannah, the Bar Manager, made a fall specialty drink with warm apple cider that was also a favorite with the guests. All of the waitstaff were attentive and polite making sure everything was as we had requested. The house DJ was an awesome choice! Having the use of the inventory of event decorations was a big money saver. We loved going thru the items to get ideas. The package pricing made it so much easier to plan the budget for the reception. Becky was so helpful in making changes to the package that fit our needs. Our families and friends had an excellent time from the delicious food and drinks to the fun dance music to the wonderful decorations, we highly recommend having an event at The Summit Event Center! Thanks to Becky, Hannah, Chef Keith and the rest of the staff! We made some awesome memories!

About 45 minutes later we were finally called up to the buffet just to find out that pretty much all the food was gone anyway. And the food that was left was cold and not at all flavorful. Find someplace else for your party. The only good thing was the bar... they pour generously.
