Stumbled across Wedo's after an afternoon stroll through Monterey. I'm not usually one to stop at just any taco truck but they appeared to be really clean and had a great setting. The tacos are delicious with pickled onions, pineapple, and unique flavors. We left feeling satisfied and will definitely stop by again next time we're in the area. Wedo's Tacos and Dust Bowl Brewing Company are the perfect marriage of good food and good beer. This was my second time indulging in the culinary delights from Wedo's. The first time was in October when COVID was in full swing. The family and I headed to Dust Bowl Brewing Company this afternoon and it was great to see that Wedo's was still attached. After ordering our beer, the Mrs. and I ordered the nachos. After all, what goes better with beer than nachos, right? We remembered the nachos from our visit in October. Tortilla chips beautifully smothered in cheese, Pico de Gallo, and Avo Crema(aka Avacado creme sauce). We also indulged in the fish tacos that Wedo's offers and they were just as good as the last time. A blue corn tortilla, slaw, Avo Crema, and perfectly fried fish. These guys need to re-name their nachos plate and call it Monster truck Nachos. All I did was add carne asada for 3 bucks and 4 people left Dust Bowl with full bellies. Not only were all the ingredients fresh, but the flavors were uniquely complex considering the dish. I think they threw 2 juicy, marinated steaks on the plate. Wonderful to find a place with a straight forward, menu that included a vegan option. It's a food truck and had a handful of options, one of them vegan. Worked for me. I was lucky enough to experience Wedo's Tacos at Dust Bowl Brewing. Due to COVID guidelines, food must be purchased to enjoy beer, which was no problem for me! I got the Pulled Pork Sandwich, Chicken Nachos and a Baja Fish Taco. Being in Monterey, we were a little surprised there weren't more fish options, but all the food was amazing! The Pulled Pork Sandwich was a real stand out! Pork was tender and flavorful and the sandwich was almost TOO EASY to scarf down. I seriously could've eaten like 3 of them! The nachos were perfect for sharing. Our favorite part was the avo crema drizzled on top. The chicken was also seasoned very well and made the nachos filling. The Fish taco was deliciously breaded and had some great toppings. However, one taco for $5 didn't seem like the best deal, so probably wouldn't get this one item again. What's better than tacos and craft beer on a Friday night? Nothing!! Wedo's taco truck is parked at The Dust Bowl Brewery in Monterey. Sheer genius on both parts. I enjoyed the Baja tacos and a Therapist while sitting outside near the ocean. There's tons of outdoor seating with heat lamps tucked in between the wooden picnic bench seating arrangement. Super bomb! Thank you yelp for helping me find this hidden gem. I was looking for a place to have lunch but was tired of the same kind of food that they serve on the wharf. You enter through the front entrance of the restaurant. You decide if you're drinking or not. If you are, you order your drinks and buy vouchers for the truck. In order to serve alcohol you must serve food, at least for now. But you can order directly from the truck if you aren't drinking alcohol. Now the food! The fish tacos are the best fish tacos I've ever had! Super fresh and the perfectly fried. And the fried filets are huge! The barbacoa was perfectly seasoned and tender. Carnitas was good as well. Everything they put on their tacos paired perfectly with it especially the creamy avocado sauce. The nachos with barbacoa was so bomb. The whole family enjoyed it. We also had a kids burger (not pictured because my toddler immediately attacked it) which was cooked perfectly and was such great quality in meat and bread. The fries was also bomb! You know the nachos you can get at a gas station with the ultra salty, super thick corn chips and that pour on hot fake cheese???? That is exactly what was given to us....the WORST most nasty quality of food I have eaten in 15-years. DISGUSTING! Literally almost threw up in my mouth. The quality of the taco was equally bad....never even knew chicken and a tortilla could taste soooo bad. PURE salt and oil. Ughhhh!!! Ran into these guys over at dust bowl brewing and well beer and tacos go together right? Gave 'em a try. Parking -assuming that you find them where I did-is pretty much the parking for fisherman's wharf or downtown. This is a food truck however so the parking will be whatever there is at the party, festival, or event where you find them at. Ditto for the seating arrangements. Service is of the order at window, pay then pick up when called. While there may be lines it moves quick. Maybe too quick. No real wait for food so don't be intimidated by the line. The menu is fairly basic ish. This is a modern fusion kinda taco truck. You know Mexican inspired instead of Mexican. Expect pineapple, slaw and watermelon radish (whatever that is) to be thrown in. When it works, it really works well, but when it doesn't quite it's pretty terrible. Vegetarians beware the veg menu is basically the above with a light application of sauces-not necessarily salsa. No beans, no cheese, light on savory fixins. For the good news the fish tacos are pretty awesome, and I recommend them over any of the other choices. This is particularly true of the baja fish taco. Unfortunately on our visit the prep was a bit rushed on an already weak vegetarian taco. Specifically the tortilla had not seen that grill. Aha you say but it was kind of chilly day, so maybe it got cold on the way in? Maybe except for the fact that the bottom outside of the tortilla was wet. All that for double what you'd expect to pay for tacos. EDIT: Bumping up one star-for now-due to the very nice reply from the owner who among other things explained some of the process that has changed since my visit. So. Your might have a better experience.
