The matcha drink was smooth and pleasant; I just wish the flavor was a bit stronger, as it leaned more on the subtle side. I ordered it with oat milk at 1/4 sweetness, which worked well. Matcha and tiramisu drinks were delicious, although honestly a tiramisu on the side would make more sense. The cake if not eating right away leaves floating food chunks in the coffee which was quite gross; honestly my fault for letting it sit too long, otherwise it was good. We got a crepe which was extremely disappointing and just threw it out. Inside is small with decent sitting and a patio. I stopped by yesterday. The young man working the register (Craig) was nice and friendly. He did a great job with Matcha latte and Turkish tea. However the person at the crepe station had Tahini Crêpe overcooked. It was visibly dark, crisp and overly oily. I also ordered lemon and sugar crepe. I was hoping to stay away from Nutella to keep things more natural. Well that crepe was overly sugary and had whip cream all over it. It made the crepe soggy and drenched with sugar. He totally ruined the concept of crepe. It is supposed to be a soft shell with balanced ingredients. Please also work on cleaning and upgrade the bathroom. read more

We went on a Saturday morning and it was pretty busy but we were able to find a table. They made the lattes super fast and the crepes took a little longer but everything is brought out to you. Giving this place 5 stars based on the drinks we got. Family owned business! The crepes, sandwiches and other food items look lovely. Of course we tried the tiramisu latte. The host and our waiter took great care of us, and the food was superb--honestly, above a 10 for me. Everything we tried, from the main dishes to the desserts, had wonderful flavor. Even the salad impressed someone in our group with its Italian flavors. Despite that first moment, we left happy we'd found Rosine's. If you're in Monterey, I definitely recommend stopping by with family or friends.

I love the food and go all the time! The low star rating is NOT for the food or atmosphere strictly for the staff. I like to start with cons then move to pros so here goes.... The staff is young and culturally very different so their customer service skills are very lacking the man "In charge" is a bald creepy guy who only cares about his kind of people and they speak Arabic right over you head like your not even there which sucks but the food makes up for it all he is also the one who runs the booth on farmers market dont go there go inside!. I like what I like and won't let poor customer service stop me from getting what I enjoy. I must say I to experienced what Raul N did but from going so many times I have noticed that its that they serve their friends and kind first. They all sit around and stand around speaking Arabic which is fine if they were the only ones there but its not ok for them to do that when they are working. Especially the short guy with glasses and bald guy who sit outside visiting and almost act like your inconveniencing them to come in there sometimes unless your one of them. Pros... If you go late on weekends after a night of being out and are hungry you can grab a bite here and its fresh and light and filling. They have a large selection of sweet and savory crepes. The best is the king zakaria which is strawberries, bananas, and nutella ohhh so scrumptious! and for the savory I like to go and either the Mediterranean crepe and add turkey or just go and build my own. I live in Monterey and go there a minimum of 3-4 times a week. The coffee is great its Italian and brought in from Umbria. There is a guy that works there he is hot!!!! Ladies his name is Jason and he is a must see. He is the only one in there who speaks perfect English and is so polite and clean and takes time to wipe down the tables for you and if the silverware is dirty he wont give it to you he gets you another one. The others just let you point and get it yourself or drop it off and you have to go ask. The other two workers that are great are a tall skinny guy with glasses but he is very hard to understand but tries very hard and a girl her name is roseane and she is personable and efficient and just really sweet and treats everyone right she also makes the crepes and you can watch her make them sometimes. Sometimes when you go in its jammed pack which is good for the owners but if you get a chance to make in when they are slow you can sit there for hours and relax watching the street traffic and listening to the music. You can also look at the photos on the walls that are Monterey many years ago. The atmosphere is great! Definitely go try it I take everyone there that I know and they are all getting hooked. Me and my friends even head in after a night out and don't want junk food (pizza that will make you sicker then had you drank for 2days from around the corner). Thank you roseane, tall skinny guy with glasses (he helps me all the time), and Jason for such a great experience for me and giving us great food and a great atmosphere. Oh and my boyfriend feels the same way! I recommend it to EVERYONE!!!! Oh there is another Monterey Crepe Company don't waste your time its not even the same owners I don't think. Its is worth the extra 8 mins to go to the one downtown. The other one is dirty, small, and mostly DIRTY. They must be franchised because it's the same name but not the same quality so don't be mistaken Monterey Crepe Company on Alvarado is QUALITY FOOD and GREAT ATMOSPHERE! We came to Monterey for New Year's and over the last two days we have walked by this place and it looked very inviting from the street.. They prepare the Crepes right at the window so as you're walking by you see it.. Today we decided to go in and try it which in a sense is a miracle because in the last 13 years in our relationship she's never wanted to go get crepes so I was very excited about eating there... we walked in and placed our orders and sat at the little bar area. When I walked up my girlfriend was asking one of the girls behind the counter for a rag to wipe down the bar because it was filthy. The woman said no I'm cooking food rudely. I walked over and got into the conversation and the lady said to me I'm sorry I don't want to confuse my orders I can't do anything for you. There was three people working behind the counter but apparently none of them could help us. I got up to ask where some sugar was to the lady at the register because clearly the other two people didn't want to help us and when I asked her where the sugar and milk was she pointed over to a cart in the corner that had 4 bags of sugar at the bottom of this dirty tin that look like coffee have been poring over them a week ago.. I asked again at the lady at the register can I get some different sugar these are all dirty she gave me a super craft.. I asked her for a rag to wipe the counter down and she went back to reading people's order up. Now that I got my sugar and cream I took a sip of my coffee and it was horrible. The Crepes came and they were just Bland.. What really bothered me the most was the utensils... They were the smallest cheapest plastic forks and knives you could imagine. They bent when you barely put any pressure on them... I'm sure they have better utensils in jail.. How hard would it be to buy silverware and wash them as opposed to making people struggle to eat something with utensils that Bend so easily... if they had some sort of POS system where they could organize their orders I'm sure it would be more efficient there also and she wouldn't have to worry about confusing her orders when people ask her for a simple thing like a rag to wipe down there dirty counter... We ate half of the meal and left I barely drink three sips of my coffee... 29 bucks down the drain.. As we walked back to our room at the Portola Brittany crepes was right by your door and we saw all these happy people sitting at their tables with numbers on sticks so that they know what order they had and silverware like you would normally use I thought what a waste of time this place was... My suggestion to you is.. Customer Service Customer Service Customer Service.......ps they didn't even have syrup when I asked if they had some she said they ran out yesterday.. That might be possible but in America in 2017 pretty sure you could get syrup any day of the week..... in fact Walgreens is directly across the street a block away.. This place was fantastic! I visited Monterey on vacation this past week and we stayed at the Portola Hotel which was wonderful and ate at the Monterey Crepe Company every morning and twice late night after the bar scene. I do agree that some of the staff is a little slow on detail and they are not always 100% aware of what's going on around them but its just because they are all young. One guy who is there all the time talks on his phone a lot his name is kalik and makes fresh crepes at the same time. They just need to worry about the customers first then their private conversations...there's nothing wrong with workers chit chatting just guys come on help us first! And greet and say goodbye. As for the food...I always had a fresh one even when we were there at 1am! The crepes were fantastic! Between me and my friends we had I think almost one of everything off the menu.. LOL Kidding not that much but we did sample lots of them. I would recommend this place to anyone! I'm not going to let some young kids workin behind a counter bug me I want what I want and the most important thing is the taste. On Sunday afternoon my girls and I sat there sippin coffee (From Italy) and watched this one guy spin out probably 60 crepes so cool to watch and see them make em and how delicate they have to be. I give this place 2-thumbs up!!! For sure go there and order the Prince Terik...That's my favorite. Love it! Remember go there of the food and ambiance and you will have a really nice time. I have to agree with the food is good. (Not having ham for religious purposes-hello this is America get over it) I must say though the food I love I go probably once a week minimum (Weekend Latenights=-) ) me and my friends. We go and grab a couple to go or sometimes eat there. I really enjoy the place its nice and clean I always see people I know there because lots of locals eat there . The guys working are funny and friendly the ones we always talk to are Sal and Husin and Jason there is another guy I have met working there but cant remember his name. They have all been really nice and funny especially since they are dealing with a bunch of drunk people!!!LOL the I LOVE the coffee its soooo tasty and the guy Jason knows tons about it. Only complaint is The day time staff I have had such poor service and have been uncomfortable with the people working during the day. Reading these reviews Im noticing its not just me its everyone. The people that work there that are clearly foreigners definitely need some training in customer service and to not let there friends just hang around taking up space from paying customers. So if you have had a bad experience during the day...give it another try at night and order the King Zakara or the Papa Jonny they are fabu!!!! And ask Jason to explain why its so good.... Delicious, gigantic crepes! I'm a big fan of this place. Great for a weekend brunch, or a late night, stumble-in, appetite pleaser. The flavor of the crepes is like nothing I've had before. I saw another review saying they don't taste like normal crepes, and that's what I think makes them good. Its not just a thin pancake with some crap stuffed in the middle. The batter is ever so slightly sweet, and the pancake is generously sized with all the goodness, sweet or savory, that you desire in the middle. They also make good coffee/espresso drinks. My only real complaint is that usually there is one or maybe two people working there and if they get a rush of customers, it can take quite awhile to get served. They do their best to serve everyone quickly though and I certainly cannot accuse them of being lazy. I just wish they'd hire some more help sometimes. The price is a bit high, but once you see the size of the crepes they make, the price is a little bit easier to swallow. After all, it is Monterey, right? They are a meal in and of themselves. Unfortunately, I've moved out of Monterey, but this is one place I will remember fondly. read more

Went there 2 weeks ago and it was really good the vibe the musice the people were totally cool I sat at the bar wateched crepes being spun out right infront of me and my friends visted with the people there and No one spoke anything but english so I guess I got the good shift. We sat there and ordered a total of about 6 crepes between the 3 of us in about an hour. Sooo Delicious. I suggests the Monterey one. They even have SP Arinchita which is so hard to find except at specialty stores--Big ups on that. I have to agree that the chick Roxane is a hottie!! The dude Jason is totally cool knows so much about this town and never stops askin if you need anything else... ha ha he is all over it makin sure your happy... and my buddie Islam (Also at ATT if you need phone service hes your man) we sat and ate and had a great time J never ignored us neither did my girl Roxy or Islam... They are totally awesome. For sure even if you had a bad expeierence givem another chance you just had a bad one really they are bomb. Bomb this place is great I go there every weekend night when we all go out I love the food!!!! Me and my buddies hit this joint up at least 3 times a week and the place is awesome. I love the dude that works there he is totally cool and knows so much stuff about this town. I love it!!! Order coffee and a sweet Crepe they are THE BOMB!!! Jason and Islam are totally cool and can bust out crepes and coffeess like 100 miles an hour when its packed and 12 at night... The middle eastern prople who work there suck but its only cuz they speak their language and care more about their frineds then anyone else but just ignore it. Also there is a hottie named Roxann that works during the day and is so sweet and polite. Can you tell I practacally live there I know eveyrones name ha ha ha. I get the King Zakiria and add Caramel and sometimes kiwi its soooo delicious!!! The food and coffee are great its a great place to grab a bite with a friend and sit relax talk and enjoy. I always meet up with friends here wheather its 1 in the afternoon or 1 a night. The crepe batter is made daily if not twice a day and they make ALL the crepes by hand in the window. they used ready made ones when they are busy but they are still onyl made an hour or so earlier they don't come out of a package like some other review insinuate. I have been all over the world and America and these Crepes measure right up to the ones on the Champs Elyees in Paris! The café has the old world feeling for historic Monterey. It is comfortable and relaxing. They have wi-fi, large great selection of coffees and teas, a personable staff and a huge menu with great food. I go there about once a week for lunch with my boyfriend and just about every morning on my way to my office for a coffee. They have imported coffee from Umbria in Italy! When me and my kids went to go get my wife's favorite food "crepes" for her bday they were cold, they're was nothing really in them, and they were cold. My wife was still trying to be happy and not complain because of the nice thing my children and I did for her this Birthday but unfortunately the crepes weren't the best. Later on my wife said she's had better crepes than that but she didn't want to complain about anything on her Bday! First time there was today I loved it. My co-workers took me here for my birthday today :-) Happy Birthday to MEEE. I rarely leave bad reviews, but my experience here was incredibly disappointing. The crepes were average at best, but what really ruined the visit was the attitude of the owners. They were rude, dismissive, and made the whole atmosphere uncomfortable. When I asked a simple question about the menu, I was met with eye-rolls and sarcasm. Manasiri's Crepe Cafe is the best cafe on Alvarado Street. It is friendly and the new owners are very sweet. It is clean, has wifi and big windows giving lots of light and a great environment for students to study. The food is great and their always very quick. The crepe we had was good, but ask the cook to wash his/her hands before cooking. They'll take your order, handle cash, then prepare your crepe, using no gloves, without washing their hands first. I tried multiple times to resolve the issue, and somehow I still ended up with a drink I didn't want, after wasting both my time and my money. $6 might not seem like a lot, but paying for something you didn't order and then having the situation handled this poorly is incredibly frustrating. Definitely not the experience I expected, and unfortunately, not one I'd want to repeat.

Omg the chocolate and other baked goods were delish!!!! I really felt like I was in Turkey, the decor, the music, the staff.... I think there were all family... once I entered they were so happy nice and willing to share the history behind the baked goods and coffee. One of the lady's there ( I think owner) over heard I ask my wife about coffee in Spanish and she corrected me, have some in-site and left me wondering.... Yes I had the tiny cup of coffee and it was worth it. Strong bitter tasteful, I could have had about 3 Thank you for the experience and knowledge and next time I'm in town I shall stop by and order more pastries!!!!

Bottom Line: The little cafe you are looking for…read more Screw it, I'm updating my review. We just spent five days in Monterey for race week and stayed in the Hotel next door to this spot. There are a half dozen other breakfast spots in town that we enjoy when we are in Monterey - we blew all of them off. This place is too fast and too good, honestly to want to get in the car and head over to any of those other spots. Is this place fancy? No. Is this place big? No! Its tiny! Is the food gourmet? No! Stop asking questions. The food is delicious and hot. The coffee and tea is yummy and hot. Everything is hot. The people are super friendly and hot. I like how real they are too - it's Saturday at 6am, everyone is dragging. I asked the people behind the counter how they were doing and they were (gasp) honest! We don't want to be here! Getting to work at 5am on Saturday is terrible but I respect and appreciate a human response. I really like this place - even the pastries are good and thats a good thing because we bought a bunch of them. I will end with this and then leave you alone - we left this place at 615am and sat down in the main grandstand in Turn 4 at Laguna Seca at 715am to watch epic Historic car racing and sank my teeth into a HOT and beautiful croissant breakfast sandwich with bacon in it in the heavy fog. Everything was wet and cold - I drank my hot tea and ate my food.... and it was simply glorious. Thank you to the real humans at Plumes. Yall rock.

You're hit with the smell of ramen the moment you walk in and it's a bit loud. I ordered to-go so I can't say much about the dine-in experience but it was nice that they had seating both inside and outside. I got the Mango Matcha Latte with soy milk which was great! The purée was sweet but not overly sweet and balanced out the matcha. I'm not a matcha snob so I can't tell you if it's high quality but I loved the color and it tasted rich. My only complaints are that the matcha was a bit bitter and this drink was $10. They charge $1 for soy or almond milk substitution so keep that in mind if you don't drink cow milk! Overall, I think it taste great but I feel like it should be around the $7-8 range instead of $10-11. This is definitely a touristy area so I was expecting higher prices.

The quality of food is excellent and nicely presented. The price and quantity are great compare to most breakfast restaurants in that area . You feel like you're being well treated for the money you pay. It is busy all the time and there are lines to wait for a table or to get to the counter to place your order. So you know this place is GOOD ! We love the mushroom soup , quiche, roasted beef sandwiches, Carmel Benedict, beet salad , famous Marianne 's ice cream , etc etc .
