Let me update this for 2025 and state that I'm happy to report 5 years later the food is still great! Today I got shrimp fried rice add egg ($8.99 + $3.00), plus chicken nuggets ($5.49) and a fountain drink ($2.49). So, just slightly more expensive but the portions are still great. This not a go sit down and have a nice dinner restaurant BUT I would 100% suggest trying it for really good basic Chinese food. I don't normally do beef but the black pepper beef was very good. Cheap Chinese food usually swells us up but we had no issues with it. My wife got the sesame chicken and it was crispy and also yummy. Great place for Chinese takeout! Had a sick child who needed a pick me up. This was the perfect solution. Got the hot and spicy soup. The vegetable fried rice was delicious as was the simple steamed rice- it hit the right spot! Ordered several chicken dishes off the menu and loved every one of them. Wei Tasty Asian is fine, but it's not necessarily anything special, especially now that they've raised prices. I'm a little confused about this because in store their prices remain the same with fried rice at $6.99, but online, fried rice costs $8.99, so I believe they're in the middle of a price change. Despite the 3-star rating, I do come here fairly often. I like their dumplings, both fried and steamed, and their fried rice is fine but often lacks flavor. I usually add several packets of soy sauce. I also like their egg drop soup. My friends have all enjoyed Wei Tasty. Something else of note is that I believe this isn't a local Waco business. Wei Tasty Asian has two more storefronts, one in Dallas and one in Carrollton. If you want to support local, I'd recommend Fortune Cookie, Yaki, Bangkok Royal, or The Blasian Asian, though I believe Wei Tasty is still the lowest priced of all of those, even if they're raising their prices. Ordering online gets you 10% off. When you try to order online, there is an option for curbside pickup, but I don't believe they do curbside. My friend said she tried to have her food brought to her curbside and she ended up just having to go inside the store to pick it up. I've always just gone inside. Ultimately Wei Tasty Asian is fine if you're in the mood for some run of the mill Chinese food, but I'd recommend trying one of the local places listed above instead! read more

I used to really like this place when it first opened, but it has just gone down hill. My order is almost always wrong and the service has become terrible. I've gone and had to wait 15 mins for someone to come out to take my order bc they were in the back chatting and on their phone. I had to call for someone to even realize I was at the front. I am no longer going to this establishment bc at my last visit my order was wrong, yet again, and to top it all off there was a HUGE chunk of MOLDY EGG in my egg drop soup. Stopped in here Sunday night after looking at the pictures of the Lo mein. We tried the beef lo mein, sesame chicken, and the tofu with veggies. All of it was really good. This place was clean and bright and nicely decorated and there's a TV playing a Spanish channel; I sat near the window. The restroom condition was fair. The knowledgeable cashier was pleasant and even taught me a word in Spanish. I like that the menu is small and has vivid photos of each plate. My veggie Pad Thai looked better than the menu photo. The veggies were perfectly cooked, but the noodles were soft and the sauce was too oily for my taste and didn't have the usual flavor I'm familiar with at other Thai restaurants. It was a very large serving so I took the rest to-go. I put it in the box and took it to the register. He didn't miss any of the sauces or cookies or silverware before giving the bag back to me. He offered to replace he did not address or apologize for how rude Sarah was. He told me to come in and he would refund after I told him that visiting his restaurant as a customer would not be happening. Went to pick up the refund and he was rude. Pleasant surprise for me. Because The Fortune Cookie restaurant was closed to sit down dining I ended up at Wei. The menu was straight forward and no confusion was had. I selected the Honey Sesame Chicken and pot stickers. The wait was minutes, literally. I'm sure with more patrons the wait would have been proportional. In the time I received my food I decided to check Yelp. 3 stars? Really?! Honestly this restaurant deserves a higher rating because it's clean, safe and the food is really quite good. I walked in an was immediately handed a red flag which was the man at the cash register having a conversation on his phone. I guess it was more important than work because we had to wait for him to end his conversation so that we could be served. The second red flag was when we were handed our silverware the server saw that it wasn't dry so he thought it would be healthy to dry it with his shirt.......... wtf who does that? The third red flag was when we were given our food, he was still on his phone talking to someone while serving us..... food is like Panda Express if you're okay with that. LOVE the orange chicken! The food is fresh and the place is clean. I love to sit in the booths because of how comfy they are. The seating and table have always been clean when we visit and the service is pretty decent. They do get busy from the Baylor crowd but I feel it is a testament to how good the food is. "Fried rice" is not fried - it's white rice that gets pulled from a steamer & must have a little soy sauce mixed in to make it look brown but there are still white clumps throughout. Zero flavor. I was disappointed in the service waited over 30 minutes and still did not receive my order in a timely manner. I ordered the veggies and tofu with veggie eggrolls. You have to ask for it not listed on the menú. I asked severs what happen to my order did you forget about it replied oh no see we go in order yes I realize that but I have been waiting over 20 mins and ppl in front me order and within a few mins from ordering leaving with their food. Even ppl who ordered after me receive their orders. So I waited 10 more minutes after that I was so frustrated and upset I asked for my money back and left the restaurant all I got was we are sorry.
